I don't like having to use the power button to wake my display screen. My old droid I only had to press the home key. I am afraid the power button will wear out fast on this phone.

View 9 Replies View RelatedTo use it one must press the power button,operation that almost all the time requires the use of both hands,and then swipe ur finger to unlock the screen.And u have to do it tens or maybe hundreds of times daily.Or having the phone in a car holder;that holder needs to be awful sturdy so u can just press with one finger the pwr but I couldn't pull it off. I need to grab the phone with my big finger and then using the index finger tri to find the little pwr button.I have to admit that I'm a big fan of physical buttons(I still weep after my Nokia 9300i) but also the solution provided by Galaxy S II with its physical home button sounds ok to me.I think that giving the user an option to keep or not the home button active would be a nice feature on the RAZR.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have already went to a uscc repair shop and reflashed my android os keeping my data. It seems to do this again. Phone first works fine then black screen with green led indicating a reboot. I had to do a cold boot on my way to the uscc store just to get to the android os and backup my stuff. I want to get by with this phone until the Electrify M is available in November. I do have insurance, I asked about replacing the device and there will be a $50.00 charge. I am trying to work around of this by keeping it working and useable and not restarting and stuck on a startup screen. Ohh btw the boot screen it is the motorola logo solid.

From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my Razr Maxx and charged it before using it. When the screen time out and goes to sleep i can´t turn it back on by pressing power button. I can turn it back on by doing soft reset (pressing power button and vol down) when doing soft restart I don´t have to press pin number, as needed when i turn the phone off and back on. When the phone is in the charger there i no problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9 month old Xperia Play through Verizon, about a week ago, I started having this intermitten porblem where the display wouldn't wake up by using the power button or the home button. Sometimes it works on a single press, other times it takes multiple presses. occassionally it refuses to wakeup at all, forcing me to pull the battery. I have already tried a settings reset and begrudgingly follwed up with a factory reset, which of course whipped 9 months of data away. Neither reset process had any affect. I have really grown attached to this phone and would hate to lose it

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have owned my Electrify for about 4 or 5 months now. I have a nice Otter box on the outside to protext the phone. Honestly never dropped. I love this phone but now during the power cycle that it does once a day, it freezes up on starting up. I have to pull the battery to get it to start back up. I haven't done a factory data reset or anything with it yet. I would like to get feedback before I waste my time and data doing so.

The buttons at the bottom all light up and it looks like there is a back light that is on, (if you look at the screen from the side you can see like a back light) and the green indicator light is flashing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been having this bro;em yesterday and also today when i woke up. My Verizon iPhone 4S touch screen is un responsive sometimes then it workes other times. My Sleep/WAke button also doesnt work. My phone thinks that my sleep button is always being pushed so if my touch sreen is working i can do anything becuase my phone puts it self to sleep when i unlock it. I was on IOS 5.0.1 and then updated to IOS 5.1.1 thinking that this would help me but i didnt.

My phone went out of battery and it turned off. So i plug the charger in and waited for it to restart. After restarting it, I realize there are several settings that ran away IE: My ringtone preferences and keyboard preferences. So far, I've already readjust it, But ever since the phone restarted like that, I can no longer lock my screen, not even if it times out itself after 15 seconds. and when i press and hold the power off button, instead of showing the menu for options like "Silent phone"/Flight mode"/"Shut down" it only shows power off. What can i do to get the original settings back ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHitting the power button does not turn the display on. Actually nothing turns the display on. This began happening occasionally, for a few seconds at a time. Then it became a few minutes at a time. Now it is permanent.
What's truly odd is that the phone seems to be completely working otherwise. It rings, alarms go off, indicator lights flash. It connects to my car over bluetooth and if I plug in headphones and hit the play headphones' action button, music starts. If I hold the power button down, every 5s I get a little haptic feedback, and it appears to reboot if I hold power and volume up (or down, I can't recall), so I know the buttons are working.
I even have a suspicion that touchscreen digitizer is working because I think I've dismissed a few notifications by double-tapping (I'm on Lollipop). Also, I swear I have seen very fleeting, very dim views of the unlock screen a few times.
I should also add that I took advantage of Google's recent replacement policy lenience - this is a refurb I've had for a month or two.
I'm contemplating replacing the screen/digitizer on the theory that this is a broken screen. It feels like the backlight is broken. But I'd rather not spend the $$$ and time if the problem is deeper than that.
I am having trouble with my HTC Wildfire S since when I press the power button, the touch buttons switch on but the screen remains black. In order for the screen to appear, I either need to touch the screen or else wait for a few seconds until something comes up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI found the System Settings > Display > Brightness > Display Power Saver checkbox, but turning it off or on doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, I noticed my Maxx's screen was darker than the Droid 4's in the store the other day, and I went into the Brightness settings and found Display Power Saver unchecked, so I checked it just to see what happened, and the screen got brighter. My brightness is always on Auto. Unchecking it had no effect. Since then I've been able to detect no difference with it checked or unchecked.

It seems to be triggered by movement: If I'm holding the phone after pressing the PB, the screen comes back on immediately when my hand moves. If I place the phone flat on a table and press the PB, without additional movement, the screen stays off.

The past couple of days I've also been getting notifications that certain Apps are preventing Stamina mode from operating. This morning it was Facebook. Yesterday, it was another one I can't remember. Can these issues be related?Â
So i have a 2 month old sony z3 and the power button suddenly became unresponsive, today. Everything else is working fine on the device.

The screen begins to dim and then sleeps but instantly wakes up. So basically the device screen is on all the time now. I think I've tried everything i could.
I would want to bring an issue to Sony's and all the Z2 users' notice that I am trying to observe a display burn in issue on pressing the power button while unlocking the phone a lot of times and this usually happens when I have set the brightness to adaptive. When I press the power button to unlock the screen, the colors burn for a second and the backlight comes to life with all the real colors the next second.
Its been happening quite a lot now and now I am atleast able to figure out that adaptive brightness is the culprit here. I am not sure is this another bug that sony needs to fix in lollipop or what it is? But just to mention, I have recently clean formatted my phone using the repair phone method on Sony PC companion and it has not worked to solve this issue. Lollipop is seriously making life bitter in a lot of ways than being sweet atleast for Z2 users like me. We would love to see the almost flawless Z2 back as it was on Kitkat 4.4.4.
On my S4 it would hang up the call without me having to wait until the screen came back on which I liked better .
