Motorola Electrify :: Modem Did Not Power Up On Boot Screen?
Oct 20, 2012
I have already went to a uscc repair shop and reflashed my android os keeping my data. It seems to do this again. Phone first works fine then black screen with green led indicating a reboot. I had to do a cold boot on my way to the uscc store just to get to the android os and backup my stuff. I want to get by with this phone until the Electrify M is available in November. I do have insurance, I asked about replacing the device and there will be a $50.00 charge. I am trying to work around of this by keeping it working and useable and not restarting and stuck on a startup screen. Ohh btw the boot screen it is the motorola logo solid.
I have owned my Electrify for about 4 or 5 months now. I have a nice Otter box on the outside to protext the phone. Honestly never dropped. I love this phone but now during the power cycle that it does once a day, it freezes up on starting up. I have to pull the battery to get it to start back up. I haven't done a factory data reset or anything with it yet. I would like to get feedback before I waste my time and data doing so.
My Atrix 4G will not boot up when powered on. After a flight today I powered on the phone and the Motorola logo appeared but did not go into its usual animation during the boot process. Instead the logo remained still and about 65 seconds after powering on, two messages appeared at the top of the screen above the logo:"Modem did not power up (2)" and "Starting RSD protocol support." It froze in this state and the power button had no effect. I removed and reinstalled the battery three times. the last time waiting several hours before reinstalling, but the problem remains. There is no physical damage to the phone and it was working perfectly about an hour earlier when I first shut it off.
I can delete individual emails from my inbox. However, when I go to Trash folder there is no method to delete the Trash contents. Searching the manual gives zero information. Searching online has not been much more productive. The methods I've seen in independent forums don't work for me.
Previously when I connected my phone to my computer via USB, I would get a Motorola screen on my desktop inviting me to sync my music, photos, etc. I would be offered the choice to sync using Windows Media Player or iTunes. That screen has stopped appearing when I connect via USB. What happened to it? I uninstalled and reinstalled Motocast, no luck there.I have found this Motorola sync program pretty creaky compared to iTunes. Would I be happier using another program altogether (Winamp? something like that?) to manage my music, podcasts, etc?
Just got my Electrify Friday, and so far I have dropped just about every call I have made with it. The screen doesn't turn off during calls and I am either pushing every button and trying to conference in the Moon, or I hang up.
I've turned on and off the pocket mode, I've rebooted with it on, and off. I've turned pocket mode off, rebooted, and then turned it back on. Nothing has worked. I don't have a case on it, I don't have a screen protector on it.
Does anybody know how I keep all of my past appointments on the Electrify? I check my google calendar which is syncing fine and see all of my past appointements, however they are gone from the phone. Additionally, even though my google calendar is scheduled out for the entire year, my phone calendar stops at December 15th, 2012.
It seems that some cellular associates are telling customers that the Electrify is 4g ready and will be able to be updated, when US Cellular launches 4g. The general consensus is that this cannot be possible.
Anybody have an easy way to convert the video I shoot on my Electrify to some readable format on the computer? I've tranferred the files to both Mac and PC and neither have worked. I almost thought it was because I turned on the encryption, but I haven't had problems with photos, and I don't know why video would be different. Didn't have this problem with my old phone
Iam a Uscc agent and I have a customer with the electrify and their phone is dying within a couple of hours and only sending a couple of text messages and making one phone call I have given a battery swap and checked the phone for any bad apps but there were no additional applications installed and settings do not seem out of place and compared it to mine that I have abd everything matches and mine lasts me an entire day of heavy use. I am just wondering if there is anything else that could be draining the battery or a way to fix it?
I'm new to the community and every thing I've seen so far has been great. I have a question I just recently got a new Electrify and some how the screen swipe lock has gotten diabled. The only way I can have the swipe lock work is if I set up the security lock with a pattern or pin. I dont want the security lock as a option I just want the swipe lock to keep me from accidently pushing buttons on the phone.
I have noticed that when I start a call and put the phone to my head (or hand above the sensor) that the screen stays on. I do know that the phone's "pocket mode" works, which tells me that the proximity sensor is functioning. Faulty or non-existant software for the phone app?
Testing the multi touch functionality of my phone, to my dismay, shows acknowledgement of two points of contact. Needless to say, the piano app that I use.( for jotting down quick ideas, I am a music director at my church and a songwriter) is nearly unusable because piano often uses more than two fingers. I know that the hacking community has been able to enable up to 8 points if multitouch. Is this going to be enabled for this phone? I would hate to get rid of it since I love everything else about it, and have no problems at all with any functionality. ( aside from that whole pesky multitouch thing).
I've had my Electrify since the beginning of the year, and I recently started having trouble with the alarm clock. I will set it for 7:00 a.m., it will show up on the screen at 7 like normal, but the sound does not play. Then, when I wake up late for work, I have a notification saying that the alarm was silenced after 30 minutes.Like all other issues, I remove the battery and restart the phone, then it works fine. However, I really don't want to test my alarm just to make sure that it will work every morning.
I have a VX6100 phone.I am using it via a USB cable as a modem and with BitPim.While doing this, is my phone drawing its power from the USB port rather than from its own battery? It appears to be able to charge from the USB port.Is this correct?
I plugged my Motorola Razr into the USB to charge, and it is now stuck on the 'dual core technology' boot screen. The device was already powered on, but when I plugged it in, the screen went black and it started to turn on and paused here. I have tried holding the power button and plugging it in and unplugging it, but nothing happens?
