Jul 2, 2012i just inherited an iphone 3. when i got it i updated the software, but after the update it wont let me add, view, or edit my contacts. i was going to restore it but it says the contacts are being synced over the air so they wont save to my computer. im afraid if i restore it i will lose all my contacts. is there any way i can stop the over the air syncing? i already turned the wifi syncing off. i just want to make sure i dont lose my contacts. they are saved to my sim card but i cant import the contacts because it also wont let me view the mail, contacts part under settings.

Apr 5, 2012Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number

Sep 26, 2012First, I had to call Simple Mobile because the internet configuration settings they provide online we no good so they message the settings to your phone and all you have to do is save them.Then, today I was trying to access my contacts to add people and it said "Contact service provider for synchronization settings."Then, I called Simple Mobile again and the woman said enter 0000, 1111, 4444, or 1234 and none of those codes worked because she wanted me to reset it to factory settings. She said something about there being no support for that phone and to call Nokia.Then, I called Nokia and luckily the person was nice and it was pretty much the same thing except this time the code was 12345. After I reset it my contacts worked so I thought that problem was finally solved but no because then my internet didn't work so I had to call Simple Mobile again to get it working.After all of that and when I finally thought it was over with now my phone says, "Contacts not available yet. Try again later." I bought this phone thinking it would was the best for the price and on the Simple Mobile website it had it as approved phones for use but now that I have it it's being a pain. I need to view my contacts and be able to add people.I think the problem is is that this phone is supposed to be for T-Mobile and I wish there was a way to turn the synchonization off in Menu>Settings>Sync & backup>Synchronization. I feel so lied to because I thought this phone would work well with my service and I didn't have this problem before I connected it.

Aug 7, 2011On my BlackBerry Bold 9650, I can access my contacts in email or text messages. I can create a new contact. I see the contact's name when he/she calls. I can launch the address book application itself. But, once in the address book application, I can not launch any specific contact to view or update the information. An error message displays:
Uncaught Exception. net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(1073) is not responding; process terminated.
I then have to turn off the device to clear the error message.

The only problem is, I don't know how to view an entire group together and use it in any useful way. My intention is to be able to view an entire group at once as a list so I can see who is all in there and be able to notice if someone is missing. Also for my business I have a customers group which would be useful to see how many people I have in the list and view everyone to make sure my daily tasks are not leaving anyone out.
I am using a Nexus 5 with OS6.

Nov 17, 2010I've created Contact Groups that are placed under Phone Contacts (Not Gmail Contacts!).Now I try to delete them and they do disappear from my apps like Contacts GroupU.But if you check the View Contacts - Display Contacts - Phone Contacts from the Phonebook (top left icon in Contactlist) all groups are still there.Some that were created twice are even listed double.I would like to know how I can remove those groups from the list.If I keep a group from the Gmail lst pressed, then I get a popup offering me to delete the sync group.I hope you understand my problem. Jun 19, 2012Running iMAC 27 , lion 10.7.4 and iTunes 10.6.3 with an iPad 2 and iphone. I can't sync contacts anymore for some time now.Either on the iPad or iPhone. Everything is checked properly in iTunes , and , actually, everything worked properly..Calendars , Mails sync perfectly but the Synchronisation simply bypasses the Contacts. The groups in Adress Book do not show in iTunes. In iTunes, the "advanced" menu, with "replace information on this iPhone" doesnt work either? Now, all my iphone contacts are deleted, and iTunes never replaced those informations with the computer ones. I ve tried many things found here, and no improvement. I think it s a bug, and unfortunately, Apple doesn t do anything to address it.

Apr 1, 2010My iPhone was acting up so I backed it up and took it to the Apple Store. They promptly replaced it and told me not to restore it from the backup in iTunes. While I was certain I'd heard Apple/Mac's didn't get viruses, the Genius told me that whatever problem the iPhone had, may be embedded into the Contacts and restoring them may transfer the problem to my new phone. Sounds like a virus to me.
He said there's a way to retrieve the contacts from the PC without going through Itunes & if I do it this way, my virus program will filter out any "embedded problem." No, I did not backup my contacts to Outlook. I never needed them and just assumed they were being put there. HELP!! I no longer use a paper phone book--I had over 10 years of contacts in my iPhone and are somewhere on my PC. How can I get them on my new iPhone?
2nd question. How do I get all of my apps back, again, without restoring from prior backup? I tried to right click on my iPhone in iTunes and click restore purchases, but a funny thing happened...it transferred only one over??? I have at least 25 or 30.

Jun 17, 2010Probably a dumb question, but I've never fully understood the purpose of a SIM card with the iPhone when iTunes supposedly syncs all contacts and phonebook entries anyway.But I believe I have my contacts stored on my sim card and I always do regular backups with 'contacts' checked in iTunes, so am I safe when the new phone comes out with the microsim? Will iTunes automatically sync all my contacts back onto the phone from my 3.1.3 firmware?And how do you get your contacts back onto the new SIM? AFAIK you can't manually put contacts onto the SIM through iPhone unless it's jailbroken.

I obviously cannot use the iCloud with the old iPhone. I also do not want to sync the iPhone with iTunes in order to transfer the contacts to the PC since I am on a new laptop and the music on the iPhone will get deleted during sync with my new empty iTunes library.
