Sep 12, 2011I've backed up my device and I was planning on copying the old files on to my new model blackberry, but I wont have my new device for a few weeks, and my current model is broke, so I'm stuck with an old Sony Ericson, but I need to view my files to get my contacts and passwords etc, so is it possible to view my files on my computer without attaching my old phone which is broken?

Apr 18, 2012I have just got my Iphone back from the Vodafone insurance and I can not find where the contacts are backed up on my PC? I am running windows 7 and backed them up in March before I had to send the phone away to be fixed. It has taken a month to get it back, it has been a total nightmare and now I dont have any of my numbers. When I plugged the new iphone into my PC it auto synced and didnt upload all of the contacts so where are the rest of them?

Apr 30, 2012I recently got a replacement iphone and backed up all my contacts on icloud to the phone. I had over 200 contacts saved. This morning I had all of my contacts, now they are gone. My phone was in my locker the entire day, I did not touch any settings. Now my contacts are gone! I even went to icloud on the internet and they aren't there any more!

May 21, 2012I backed up my phone thro Itunes as it wanted me to upgrade to os 5.1.1 followed instructions and it backed up with it's own password (god knows from where) so now it asks me for a password that I dont know. Its eaten my contacts and I cant get them back. I have tried putting in my itunes password , I have tried putting in my laptop password , no joy on any of them.

Apr 18, 2010I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager like the BB site said to do and backed up my address book and everything else on my phone. I was going to update my BB Curve 8330 software. I read the directions and followed them and after I backed up and it said the back up was successful I tried to update the software and it said that failed so I restored everything back onto my phone and guess what? Address book is gone! So far that's the only thing I can find that didn't restore but I'm still looking. Is there anything that I can do that I am not techno-savvy enough to have realized or are they just gone? If they're just gone then fine whatever I'm not going to freak out.

Jul 2, 2012i just inherited an iphone 3. when i got it i updated the software, but after the update it wont let me add, view, or edit my contacts. i was going to restore it but it says the contacts are being synced over the air so they wont save to my computer. im afraid if i restore it i will lose all my contacts. is there any way i can stop the over the air syncing? i already turned the wifi syncing off. i just want to make sure i dont lose my contacts. they are saved to my sim card but i cant import the contacts because it also wont let me view the mail, contacts part under settings.

Apr 5, 2012Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number

Sep 26, 2012First, I had to call Simple Mobile because the internet configuration settings they provide online we no good so they message the settings to your phone and all you have to do is save them.Then, today I was trying to access my contacts to add people and it said "Contact service provider for synchronization settings."Then, I called Simple Mobile again and the woman said enter 0000, 1111, 4444, or 1234 and none of those codes worked because she wanted me to reset it to factory settings. She said something about there being no support for that phone and to call Nokia.Then, I called Nokia and luckily the person was nice and it was pretty much the same thing except this time the code was 12345. After I reset it my contacts worked so I thought that problem was finally solved but no because then my internet didn't work so I had to call Simple Mobile again to get it working.After all of that and when I finally thought it was over with now my phone says, "Contacts not available yet. Try again later." I bought this phone thinking it would was the best for the price and on the Simple Mobile website it had it as approved phones for use but now that I have it it's being a pain. I need to view my contacts and be able to add people.I think the problem is is that this phone is supposed to be for T-Mobile and I wish there was a way to turn the synchonization off in Menu>Settings>Sync & backup>Synchronization. I feel so lied to because I thought this phone would work well with my service and I didn't have this problem before I connected it.

Aug 7, 2011On my BlackBerry Bold 9650, I can access my contacts in email or text messages. I can create a new contact. I see the contact's name when he/she calls. I can launch the address book application itself. But, once in the address book application, I can not launch any specific contact to view or update the information. An error message displays:
Uncaught Exception. net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(1073) is not responding; process terminated.
I then have to turn off the device to clear the error message.
