IPhone :: Stop 'Mail' On 4s Checking All Inboxes When Opened?
Apr 30, 2012
I have 3 email accounts set up. in 'Mail' the following is displyaed:
"Mailboxes
Inboxes
- All Inboxes
- email account 1
[code]....
But as soon as 'Mail' is opened it checks all the accounts. Apparently it doesn't work this way for everyone: it seems a little pointless to have separate inboxes and then ignore them and default to downloading them all every time anyway. The accounts are all sey to "manual" under "fetch new data".
I have my work email thru Exchange and my personal email thru gmail, both routed to my Universal Inbox on my iP4. I only want to be notified of my personal emails. Is there a way to disable the notifications for just my work emails? Seems there's not an individual option I've found. I also thought of disabling Push on the work account, but it seems that's not individual either...
My iPhone 5 is stuck on Checking for Mail. The other features of mail are working properly on my iPhone. All features of mail are working properly on my iPad Mini and on my MacBook Pro, also, so it appears that the malfunction is isolated to just this one issue and only on one device. I have tried restarting and resetting my iPhone to no avail. Â
my iphone 5 has stopped checking my mail automatically. I now have to tap the mail icon on the desktop to check mail. This just happened. I have not changed any setting on the phone.
I've tried playing around with the settings but I just can't get the mail app to sync in the background. No matter what I set the sync interval too I'll open the app up after a couple of days and have emails download onto the phone which I missed as I was never notified.
I'm trying to support nearly 100 Blackberries (mostly the Tour), and any wireless update breaks the phones with various results: anywhere from just deleting the email sync settings (all carriers) all the way to the phone unable to make/receive calls (just T-Mobile for the lack of calling, Verizon or AT&T seem unaffected thus far). We do *not* use a BES server, however, if that's what is needed, I'm certainly willing to go there. If and when an update is needed (by our standards), I will perform them. I really don't want anything coming from Blackberry, ever. I instruct users to hide the update icon, however, they always say it eventually comes back and keeps prompting to install the update. To rid themselves of the annoyance, they do the update, break the phone, then have the greater annoyance of waiting until I can get the phone fixed.
I hate this! How do I turn it off? Nothing in settings...and I don't want to delete my email account. I just want it to stop loading the email app whenever I get an email.I have to Exit, Confirm (even though the confirm option is OFF), get dropped in the apps screen, and still have to click to get to the 'home' screen.Must be a way to disable automatic email checking?
When checking voicemail, after the prompt to enter the passcode the first row of numbers are missing from one of my users new Storm2. When contacting the service provider (Verizon) the support person there said that she had swapped out a persons phone 4 times with the same result.
Since using ICS on my RazrMaxx When checking email it takes forever (ok 4-8 minutes) to connect and check the mail. It is a gmail based email set up under messaging. Battery Life has dropped dramatically. No universal volume controls for messaging and calls (For example if I want to adjust my phone ringtone to be very soft by using the rocker switch on the side it now only controls just the phone ringer. Messaging would still be at the volume you have the settings at. Previously the rocker switch controlled all volume.)
Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?
So strange but ~2 weeks ago on my iPhone 4S stop working iCloud (@me.com) email push notifications. When I open Mail program it's start receiving all the mail. I checked all the settings and there is Push notifications turned on!
My wife's iPhone 4 has been attempting to send a large message via Mail for the past 3 days. I'd like to stop the message since it's clearly not going to be sent. I've tried turning the phone off and on, but to no avail. The "Edit" box in the upper right corner is unavailable.
When Siri is on, each time I try to listen to my voicemail without going to speaker, Siri overrides the voicemail to beep at me. Is there a way to prevent this without having to go through settings to turn Siri off when I want to quickly listen to a voicemail, and then back to settings to turn Siri back on?
when I select all inboxes on my iPhone the display shows blank emails that say "No Sender No Subject This message has no content" however if I go and select the inbox associated with the account the emails display fine.
I have my BB for work, so my "Messages" folder is for work emails. I set up the phone to also receive emails from my Yahoo addrerss. There is now a separate folder on the home screen for Yahoo emails. Perfect; just what I wanted! However, some of my Yahoo emails also show up in my Messages folder. How do I keep the 2 Inboxes separate?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 with 5.0.xx installed. I just set up my IMAP Gmail account on my BB and have noticed a big problem when receiving messages. Basically I get SOME of my mail in my email folder and SOME of it in my MESSAGES folder - just to make this clear both folders receive different messages that should be routing to my email folder. I tried turning off receiving my emails in my MESSAGES folder - but then I'll get a flag stating there is an unread message in my EMAIL folder - but NOTHING'S THERE. So I then go back in to Messages>options>Email settings and click the box to have Messages receive my emails too and VOILA - there's the hidden email!
So to sum this up - I can't get all my emails unless I have Messages set to receive my email as well because it receives some and my email folder receives some when my email folder should be receiving ALL of them.
I found some help in the Blackberry Answers but it describes going into menus that I don't have to reroute the messages to my inbox. So what do I do? Is this common? Is something corrupt? I'd like just to receive ALL my emails in my EMAIL folder.
the other day I was trying to stop some junk mail from being delivered to my phone, so I was "unsubscribing" to things on my BB. Now, this may not have anything to do with my problem, but it all started here. These are the issues. Can't get on any websites?a worm has gone through my hotmail account and everyone is getting "emails" from me with a link that I did not send. So, I keep getting mailer daemons. I have changed my hotmail password and also deleted everyone from my contacts on hotmail on my PC. I NEVER attach my BB to my PC so.... where is this worm coming from? Does my BB have a virus or a worm? How do I get rid of it?My BB just reboots on its own.
I got a E72 that stops syncronize with exchange server. When pressing synchronize it connects but no new mails, contacts or bookings arrives. And no error info. The only way to solve the problem is to delete the profile and add it again, thet it works. I got the error now for the second time during 2 month.
When ever I receive at least 2 or more Voice Mail messages in my mailbox,I also receive a SMS Text message that states "Voice Mail".The message waiting indicator is sufficient for me.Is there a way to stop the "Voice Mail" Text Messages?
I have a little red circle with a line going through it on my screen in between the Voice Mail icon and the Visual Voice icon, just below the time and date (center top of screen). I am using the default Zen theme figuring maybe it was a 3rd party theme but isn't not from pone. Its probably a no brainer but I guess I don't have one!
I recently closed my yahoo account but every day all day long I am getting on my mobile phone this cannot sign into yahoo. Why? Is someone trying to sign into my account or does it do this when someone has sent me an email? I closed the email over a week ago, and I know that it is there for 90mdyas due to security issues if it has any. I just want this gone and off my phone NOW!!!!!
i installed few application in my iPhone then i started to sync my iPhone with iTunes from my laptop.everytime i did that one or more application cannot be open.it happens few time since i bought it last week.problem solved by downloading new application.the question is why is this happening? is it because of the sync or it is because of the iPhone itself.should i bring my phone to Machine so that they can take a look what is going on with my phone?
