Is it possible to go into my mail and for it to not automatically download new mails? I have turned "Push" off and set "Fetch" to manual.
I want to go into my mail and read mails but not see that new ones are coming in.
It seems that as soon as I go into the mail if takes that as "manual" download. I want to turn that off.

However, since then, it seems like the phone has been trying to go online. I tried to find out how to disconnect from going online, but it just changed from high speed/3.5G to 3G. I am losing credit everyday. At first, I thought it was because I downloaded a game and the app from OVI store on Saturday. But this morning when I checked my credit, just to make sure. I noticed credit has been deducted from my balance. What should I do? How do I uninstall or delete "whats app" from ym phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a new Samsung Alias 2 on the Verizon network and it keeps downsizing the pictures every time that I try to send them to another phone or email them to myself. I've searched the manual, the forum and the God of Google and have found nothing. In a desperate attempt, I put in a MicroSD card and changed the settings to save to the card, but with no luck. Is there some sort of setting that I'm just missing or is this a limitation of the network or phone?

My Blackberry Bold had been automatically connecting to internet and downloading my email by phone in roaming mode. I had expected email was only active in a free wireless area but it seems this was not true, it also used phone calls to download mail.
How can I block that without doing something as brutal as removing the SIM card? Other kinds of phones have settings to do that but I haven't found these settings in Blackberry Bold.
I have 3 email accounts set up. in 'Mail' the following is displyaed:
"Mailboxes
Inboxes
- All Inboxes
- email account 1

But as soon as 'Mail' is opened it checks all the accounts. Apparently it doesn't work this way for everyone: it seems a little pointless to have separate inboxes and then ignore them and default to downloading them all every time anyway. The accounts are all sey to "manual" under "fetch new data".

Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?

So strange but ~2 weeks ago on my iPhone 4S stop working iCloud (@me.com) email push notifications. When I open Mail program it's start receiving all the mail. I checked all the settings and there is Push notifications turned on!

When Siri is on, each time I try to listen to my voicemail without going to speaker, Siri overrides the voicemail to beep at me. Is there a way to prevent this without having to go through settings to turn Siri off when I want to quickly listen to a voicemail, and then back to settings to turn Siri back on?

I have my iphone 3Gs email set up with my gmail account. most times when an email is downloaded on my iphone it appears in my email for a second and then immediately pops back out... just disappears. if i hit the refresh button in the lower left corner - it checks for mail again and several seconds later the email appears again and stays this time. its been doing this for months now and i cant figure out why.

I have updated the phone to Android 2.1 (Firmware: 2.1-update1, Kernel: 2.6.2.9, Build#: 2.0.2.A.0.24) and I have downloaded many free apps from Android Market. They all worked fine but recently I have downloaded Google Reader from the MARKET. The download seems to have got stuck at 26% and there is nothing I can do to stop it.
I have tried the below:1. Switched off the data traffic but the download did not stop and it is shown in the notifications.2. Restarted the phone not less than 5 times but the download seems to resume.3. Killed the market service in the Manage Applications section, but download does not stop.
