I need to sync both iCloud ans MS Exchange contacts on my iPhone and keep them as different groups in outlook 2010.

Mar 16, 2012I have a user who has been using an iPhone 4 for over a year now, and has built up a large list of Contacts on the device. Unfortunately, unlike every other iPhone user, his Contacts have not been sync'ing with Outlook. I know I can go into "Settings", "Mail, Contacts, Calendar", Contacts and "Default Account" and change it here. However, I do not want to lose any of these iPhone Contacts. I would like to be able to back them up, and then sync them into Outlook.

I would like two sync the two contact lists, to make sure all contacts are available if I log in to Lotus Notes on my computer or Gmail on a computer. Is it possible to make these sync to the same contact group on my Iphone?
Now all contacts are available on the phone, but they are not synced to each other.

Mar 18, 2012I am trying to get my Mac contatcs in sync on my old iphone 3G (not "S") without updating ditto phone any further than iOS 3.x as that makes the phone unbearably slow and practically un-usable. You know the story.
I don't mind connecting the iPhone to my mac and make a "wired" sync of all contacts but with OSX 10.7.3 installed, MobileMe contacts transferred to iCloud and WiFi sync activated for my other iOS devices I can't find a way to do so and sync this older iphone.
The problem appears to be with a "mixed" environment of WiFi syncing and wired sync.

May 15, 2012I have an iPhone 4 and I have three email accounts setup.Corporate ExchangeCloudGmail
The top two work with no problem but when I try to send an email with my gmail account, I receive the following:
"The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.gmail.com" failed. Additional outgoing mail servers can be configured in settings > mail, contacts, calendars.
I have checked and rechecked and the settings are correct. I have deleted the account and set it up with the "other" option using Google's instructions. I have checked the SSL port numbers, they are correct and I have imap and POP enabled in my gmail account, and it still will not work. This did work at one time, and now it's not. Any thoughts?

Apr 28, 2012This week I restored my iPhone since it's now offically been unlocked by AT&T. I'm now on a new carrier with a sim card overseas so I imported my SIM Contacts unto my iPhone, no problem and they are on iCloud also. Mind you I have the same iCloud as I did before. I have added people since then but now within my Contacts list theres two lists within the iCloud list... So I added a person with A and Y names, so they are at the very top of the list and then after the "new list" those are all my old contacts....

Oct 27, 2011I have a Photon with the latest software update. I haven't bothered reporting this problem before but it has existed since I got the phone.My contacts are stored on an exchange server. For many of friends, family, and coworkers I have added a contact photo. These contact photos work on:
EVO
EVO 3D
Epic 4g Touch
iPhone
Outlook
iPad
Galaxy
but they do not work on the Photon. By not work, I simply mean that the photos exist on the server, and when I txt or call anyone whose contact has a photo stored, the photo does not show up for almost all of my contacts that have photos in them. Curiously, there are two contacts that display photos, but I don't know why. I would like the photos to be displayed for all contacts like all of my other devices do. i did move my applications from another phone to this phone using a MyBackupPro.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Contact Pictures From Exchange 2010 Missing?
Sep 26, 2011I am using hosted Exchange server 2010 for many years and have around 500 contacts with pictures in my contact book. Once I receive Motorola Photon 4G same as on my prior Epic 4G I sync to exchange account and all my contacts with pictures was there. I do not even yet sync to any other account. I need to reflush my phone, using regular stock software I did stock reset (factory default with erasing data from both storage cards) and once phone back I again link it to my exchange account. It resync all contacts as expected, but this time without any pictures. I did not make any changes on exchange server between 2 sync. I can still see picture on exchange webinterface, ipad and outlook. I repeat delete, reset and resync on my android multiple time, I went to exchange webinterface and delete link to this phone account. No pictures, whatever I do can not get it back, but I know it was working. I installed for fun exchange by touchdown and it sync all ocntacts with pictures, problem I do not like it as it keep contact and calendar in it own database and it not easy to integrate with other apps.

Apr 26, 2012I just realized that as of April 19, I have not been able to send anything on my Outlook Exchange email accoutn. It's receiving just fine, but my Outbox is full of unsent mail! I remember a problem we had in the past with not being able to reply to messsages, but these are both replies and new messages. My settings are all exactly the same as my DroidX phone, which sends just fine. I have a command at the top of my Outbox that says "Send All Messages," but it doesn't do anything.I've rebooted a couple of times, with no change.

Nov 7, 2011My very small company uses Exchange Server 2003 to host our own email. On my laptop, I use Outlook. When I'm out of the office I connect my laptop to the internet and access my exchange mail via an IMAP account. With that connection, I can send mail using the SMTP server. I got my new Atrix 2 and set up that account using the advanced settings that were the closest to the settings I use for the IMAP account in my Outlook setup. I was immediately able to see my inbox and receive email. After one tweak (that I can't remember any more), I was able to sent mail. Then a few hours later, I couldn't. I've tried every possible combination of the Advanced Settings in the Account Setup screens on the phone. Nothing works. I tried a Master Reset and all that accomplished was flushing away the contact list that the salesperson had copied to my new Atrix from my old phone when I bought it. I thought that was backed up to Google and would be restored when I logged back in but apparently not. Any advice on how to get that back? But the main problem is sending mail.

I know my Exchange email address (it's just user@exchange.company.com versus my normal @company.com email address) but I have a couple questions:Does Exchange allow IT depts. to lock down Exchange to approved decives/device IDs?We have to change passwords every month or so, but I never have to do anything on my Blackberry to keep getting email pushed - how does Echange handle that? Would I have to just update my password every time it changes?Just looking for experience from those who have added their work email from and Exchange server to their personal iPhone.

Jun 26, 2014I used to be able to iMessage my mother on her iPhone on both my iPhone and my mac. All of a sudden, these messages are not going through. I am able to send iMessages to other contacts on both devices. I have restarted my phone, reset the network settings and even deleted the contact, but it still only sends messages to her as SMS.
