IPhone :: New Contact List After Restoring IPhone, Same ICloud?
Apr 28, 2012
This week I restored my iPhone since it's now offically been unlocked by AT&T. I'm now on a new carrier with a sim card overseas so I imported my SIM Contacts unto my iPhone, no problem and they are on iCloud also. Mind you I have the same iCloud as I did before. I have added people since then but now within my Contacts list theres two lists within the iCloud list... So I added a person with A and Y names, so they are at the very top of the list and then after the "new list" those are all my old contacts....
I'm trying to restore my bbm contact list via email, I receive the email but I know I shouldn't be able to see or "read" the email myself - It should do it automatically.
I used the RESTORE option from my back up, the software restored everything except my Contact list. I also tried to restore specific items.... the option to restore contacts does not allow me to tick it for restoration. I have a Bold 9700, abt 2.5 yrs old. Due to some glitch the complete contacts list is in the back-up, my google sync has only half !!
I deleted something from my iPhone and wanted to restore it to the last back up from icloud. I wiped the phone, but when I restored it back, I had no contacts, notes, imessages, etc. Everything was gone.
After restoring from icloud backup, camera roll still downloads photos..! It has been over a day and it stucked at "Downloading 22 of 73"...Can I retrieve those photos with other technique? will camera roll download the photos eventually or will it be stucked for ever?
I have been trying to restore my iPhone for about 12 hours now, and I'm about to pull my hair out if it doesn't work soon. The restore to factory settings goes fine, and then when I begin to set it up, it first gives me trouble activating it, but I just press continue when it says it hasn't been activated and a few minutes later I have signal. The next problem arises when I try and restore it from a iCloud backup. I have tried 3 different back ups, all 3 have given me the same problem. They say there is anywhere from 15-45 hours remaining, and it gets stuck at about a centimeter along the progress bar of the restoring settings part. I have not been able to get past this. Quite a few times it has said that my internet connection failed and I'll need to restart the restore. I know this most likely isn't true because I'll be on the computer at that exact point and not have an issue with the computer. I also have a very stable internet connection, and very fast. When I have done restores in the past it took about five minutes.
I recently had a 4S (either 5.0.1 or 5.1, definitely did not have 5.1.1) replaced. The refurb came with a version that was not 5.1.1 (it was the version that still displayed 3G on AT&T and had no lock screen camera). Upon trying to setup the refurb and load the backup from iCloud, the only option was way back from November 2011, so it clearly did not want to use the iCloud backup that was a future iOS version compared to the refurb. Now that I have restored to that November backup, and updated iOS to the latest version, I see in my iCloud backups that my latest, May 24th phone is there. So how do I restore to that? If I reset the phone completely, it will revert to an iOS version incompatible with the May backup again - right? At that point, I'm back where I started... can I somehow restore the iCloud backup without a full reset?
We just got my son a new iPhone. He has an iPod touch (5th gen) with an iCloud account with recent backups. Can I use the icloud backup to 'restore' all his apps and settings from his iPod touch (5th gen) to a new iphone (5C)?
I had recently formatted my iphone with no itunes backup. I restored my data with icloud but all the pics didn't come back. Now when I tried to restore again, icloud deleted all my pics from the server too!! is there any way I can get them back??
I need to restore old info onto a new iphone but have entered new information since receiving the phone. That info is in the cloud. Will current info in the cloud still be accessible after restore? Â
i have a problem by adding/editing new contact, after i added/edited the contact, it will shown on top of all my contact list, and i can't scroll the letter before the alphabet i added/edited.For example: i added James into my new contact list, it will appear on top of all my contacts with the alphabet J, then i can't scroll down using the scroll bar beside to search for the contacts name with alphabet before J like i want to search Benjamin using scroll bar but i can't, if i want to search someone name with alpahbet after J is fine, what's wrong with my phone?
Restored my phone today and now my contacts are gone, even though I had backed up the phone previously. Anybody know where to find? they are not in my cloud
I turned on iCloud when it first launched, then immediately turned it off because using iCloud didn't display my music correctly on my iPhone 4. Instead, most of the album art was missing (including for files that were actually stored on the phone) and it ignored my album sorting. Therefore, I opted not to use the service.
Ever since though, I have these "stream" files left over from when I used iCloud. What I mean is, if I look at the Music list on the iPhone when it is connected to my Mac (so when I hook up the iPhone and click on "Music" from the left nav), I see a bunch of songs greyed out. When I right click on those files, they say "Not Available" for the Kind attribute and "Stream" for the Size attribute. I am unable to play them and all other information on the other tabs, e.g. Song Name, are greyed out. Cleary they are files from iCloud that are still on my phone despite turning off the service.
This wouldn't bother me except for that fact that the songs that have this issue are missing from my phone even though they are checked in iTunes and selected in my Sync settings. So, I am not able to play them on my iPhone. For example, the entire Please Please Me album by The Beatles is missing because all of the songs on that album are these "ghost" stream files. The only way to resolve this is to delete them from my iTunes library and then add them back in. When I do this, the songs finally sync with my iPhone. However, I am looking for another solution because I don't want to have to delete and add 100s of songs and I don't want to lose the meta data, e.g. play count. I've tried unchecking/rechecking the affected songs in iTunes. I've tried unchecking the artist in my Music settings. Nothing has worked. I have a iMac from July 2011 running latest version of Lion. I am also running the latest versions of iTunes and iOS.
I am trying to get my Mac contatcs in sync on my old iphone 3G (not "S") without updating ditto phone any further than iOS 3.x as that makes the phone unbearably slow and practically un-usable. You know the story.
I don't mind connecting the iPhone to my mac and make a "wired" sync of all contacts but with OSX 10.7.3 installed, MobileMe contacts transferred to iCloud and WiFi sync activated for my other iOS devices I can't find a way to do so and sync this older iphone.
The problem appears to be with a "mixed" environment of WiFi syncing and wired sync.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 1 tb TimeCapsule, AAX, Apple TV2
I bought a new iphone this weekend and am still learning how to work it.However, this morning when I wanted to send a text,my contact list was empty....nothing.how I can retrieve or how it may have been deleted....so that I don't do it again?
I spent several hours cleaning up my contact list on my iPhone 3GS. Will they either be deleted, or added to by my previously backed up list on itunes, when I re-connect to itunes?
My iPhone 4S does not have an iPhone option in the Contact list (just lists 'mobile'), sometimes it will recognize someone else's text but not always, what can I do?
I have a weird problem in my Galaxy SII. Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. This problem occurs only for contact list and message list. Rest all apps I am able to close by pressing back button.
My contacts list will not sync to my iphone 4 since updating to IOS 5.1. I get an error message saying the iphone is using the contacts and to close this but I do not have it open. How can I resolve this???
