IPhone 5c :: Restoring From ICloud Backup (iPod Touch)
Dec 3, 2014
We just got my son a new iPhone. He has an iPod touch (5th gen) with an iCloud account with recent backups. Can I use the icloud backup to 'restore' all his apps and settings from his iPod touch (5th gen) to a new iphone (5C)?
I deleted something from my iPhone and wanted to restore it to the last back up from icloud. I wiped the phone, but when I restored it back, I had no contacts, notes, imessages, etc. Everything was gone.
After restoring from icloud backup, camera roll still downloads photos..! It has been over a day and it stucked at "Downloading 22 of 73"...Can I retrieve those photos with other technique? will camera roll download the photos eventually or will it be stucked for ever?
I just got a new iPhone 4S today! So I backed up my iPod Touch 4G to use that as the iPhone software.
When I restored the iPhone from backup (Right click on the iphone in the side of iTunes, select "restore from backup"), all the settings synced and so did the Movies and Music. ALL MY APPS DID NOT SYNC.
I have not restored my iPod Touch yet, so my question is, What do I need to do to make my iPhone identical to my iPod Touch?
I had recently formatted my iphone with no itunes backup. I restored my data with icloud but all the pics didn't come back. Now when I tried to restore again, icloud deleted all my pics from the server too!! is there any way I can get them back??
I used to have an old LG flip-phone and an iPod Touch. I lost the iPod Touch about six months ago. This week I got my iPhone. I had to go to the Verizon store to have them take all the contacts off the LG phone and put them onto my iPod.Â
I had painstakingly pared down my iTunes music library to choice selection of checked items that were small enough to fit on the iPod touch. I didn't want to go through that process again, so I hooked my iPhone up to my computer for the first time, opened iTunes, and synced with the iPod touch backup on my computer. It would have been smart to have backed up the iPhone first, but I didn't. Since I couldn't text with the iPod Touch, it didn't occur to me that the existing texts on my iPhone would be overwritten.Â
Now all the media files and apps from my old iPod Touch are on my new iPhone 5. The new iPhone apps I downloaded yesterday are on there, too. But the contacts and texts have vanished.Â
To review: no iTunes backup of iPhone data. No iCloud backup, either-- I've never used iCloud before.Â
I downloaded Wondershare's iPhone Data Recovery program and used it to scan data on the device. The scan shows 0 contacts and only the 2 text messages that I've received this evening. Curiously, it does have my entire call history from the last week.Â
So is there any way to recover the texts from this last week?
When setting up my new iPhone 4s, should I restore from icloud or itunes backup? Or set up as a new iPhone? The phone number is staying the same from my iPhone 4.
I just got an iphone 3g that I want to use as an ipod touch, it has been restored to the newest software (4.2.1) but I do not have a sim card for it. Due to this I can not get beyond the emergency call screen. Is there a way I can bypass this?? to get it to set up with my itunes and use wifi only?
I have an iphone 3gs and what bugs me is i cant use it!i recentely updated it to ios5.1.1 this is a message to apple''LET US GET PAST THE ACTIVATION SCREEN PLEASE''I was using my phone as ipod before and i was messing around with it at my friends house and lost the at&t sim there.I didnt know that the sim was so important. Now i know the alternate method tried it and it annoyed me?
I have an old iPhone 3G that I want to use as an iPod touch. Unfortunatly the sim caddy is broken inside the phone, is there anyway to bypass the sim requirement to activate it so I can use it?
Not sure if this has been addressed before or what exactly to call it, but why is it with my ipod touch I can manage, copy & play music & movies from any of my 3 home & work Macs via itunes & with the iphone I can only do it from "home" computer? Is there a 3rd party app that allows this on an iphone? I see all kinds of apps that let you copy files/media from your iphone to your mac been none that work the other way.
Just looked at the way I use my iPhone and i realize most of the apps that require data, i end up using while I'm at home on wifi. When I'm at work or anywhere else I just play games or write in notes. What top apps you use on a daily basis and what you would be sacrificing if you had an ipod touch instead?
I have been trying to restore my iPhone for about 12 hours now, and I'm about to pull my hair out if it doesn't work soon. The restore to factory settings goes fine, and then when I begin to set it up, it first gives me trouble activating it, but I just press continue when it says it hasn't been activated and a few minutes later I have signal. The next problem arises when I try and restore it from a iCloud backup. I have tried 3 different back ups, all 3 have given me the same problem. They say there is anywhere from 15-45 hours remaining, and it gets stuck at about a centimeter along the progress bar of the restoring settings part. I have not been able to get past this. Quite a few times it has said that my internet connection failed and I'll need to restart the restore. I know this most likely isn't true because I'll be on the computer at that exact point and not have an issue with the computer. I also have a very stable internet connection, and very fast. When I have done restores in the past it took about five minutes.
I recently had a 4S (either 5.0.1 or 5.1, definitely did not have 5.1.1) replaced. The refurb came with a version that was not 5.1.1 (it was the version that still displayed 3G on AT&T and had no lock screen camera). Upon trying to setup the refurb and load the backup from iCloud, the only option was way back from November 2011, so it clearly did not want to use the iCloud backup that was a future iOS version compared to the refurb. Now that I have restored to that November backup, and updated iOS to the latest version, I see in my iCloud backups that my latest, May 24th phone is there. So how do I restore to that? If I reset the phone completely, it will revert to an iOS version incompatible with the May backup again - right? At that point, I'm back where I started... can I somehow restore the iCloud backup without a full reset?
I have been backing up an iPhone 4 to iCloud for a while. I then purchased a new iPhone 4 as the old one was damaged, and set it up as a new phone. I haven't got around to setting up icloid backup yet. I now realise I want some data from an app in the old backup. Here is what I propose to do:
1. Backup new iPhone to iCloud
2. Restore new iPhone from old backup
3. Use the app's 'Email me my data feature' to get a copy of the DB
4. Restore new iPhone from new backup
Clearly I can only do this if during step 1 it doesn't overwrite the old backup. Can I have two separate backups?
My wife recently got an ipad and iphone. Since she connected these with our computer, my daughter's ipod touch won't sync. It there some reason why all the devices can't be on the same itunes account?
It will not let me activate FaceTime on my iPod touch 4 because when I try it comes up with my old email to sign in. How do I change that to my new one that I use with everything else?
