IPhone :: Can't Send Messages Via IMessages To A Particular Contact?
Jun 14, 2012
I can text people using iMessage, A friend of mine enablelled Imessage too and she can text other people. We both have each other in our contacts' list but we can't text ech other using iMessage..
Why does my 4S suddenly switch to text messages when it has been sending to the same person as imessages? I am connected to wifi and have no cell service where I am, so the text errors out. Can I force it to send as an imessage?
for the past 5 days or so now I am unable to receive imessages. My phone allows me to send them out but I am getting multiple people telling me that they are unable to send me imessages back, and they are being forced into SMS messages. PLEASE HELP! this is so annoying! my phone is updated and has always worked up until recently. what is the deal?
I Can send i messages to other phones but my daughter can't send or receive them. As far as I know she hasn't changed any settings . Text messages are fine though.
I Often times I'll get a " message failed" message while trying to send text or iMessages to friends. The only way it'll eventually send is if I dekete tge entire message thread. Any way I can fix this problem on my iPhone 6 plus?
Today imesssage stopped working for one of my contacts.. It was working just fine yesterday.. When i try send an i message it just comes up 'Not delivered!' Straight away..its the same for the person im trying to text .. I tried switching off imessage and turning it back on it hasnt worked...?
Why I have lost all imessages for a certain contact from 2009 - 6th July 2014. Imessages since 6th July are still there. More importantly, how I can get them back?
I recently got a new number and reset my iPhone settings. I have discovered that an old contact from my previous number still shows up in my iMessage recents. I have not contacted them on my new number and I want to know why they are still showing up.
I have a contact on BBM which I have been able to talk to fine for the past few months but recently he has become unable to send messages to me but he can receive my bbm messages. We have tried removing each other as a contact, reading and if I read him it just says 'pending' also we have updated so we have the same version but still nothing!
I have been using bbm with a contact for some time and suddenly I cannot open any messages or send any new ones to this contact. I have deleted and re-invited the Contact, messages arrive but I cannot open them and reply.
I had this problem at little while ago and it seemed to fix itself but now my iMessage has stopped working again, but only to my wifes iPhone. I'm not sure if it's related to the iOS update but i think it was working ok after that?I have a iPhone 4, she has a 3GS. They are both registered on the same apple ID I cannot send her iMessages but when she sends me texts (via iMessage) i receive them as messages but from my email address We are both in areas with 3G or wireless networks I have tried all of the suggestions that I have found on here and nothing is working on my phone!
I have iPhone 4S. I can't send iMessages through 3G, it works on Wi-Fi but receiver gets it from my email address instead of my phone number. What should I do?
I have an iphone 4s. Suddenly I was no longer able to receive imessages and the messages I sent to other iphon users were sending as text messages instead of imessages. I did a network reset which didnt work. Then i went into settings and toggled the imessage button. After doing that it now allows me to send imessages as an sms but says i can only be reached for messgaes at my email address and won't allow me to choose my phone number to get messgae. So now I can send imessages but they apepar to come from email account not my phone number.
I can send iMessages from my iPhone 4s, but not texts. The blue ones send fine, but the green ones just fail and display the red exclamation mark. I don't have an iPad, so don't really have any need for the iMessages, but I need the text to work!
I bought iphone 6 plus 64G to upgrade from my iPhone 4S. I have not been able to send or receive iMessages to iPhone users in my contacts with my cell number. It always uses my email when I create a new iMessage and is able to send that way. I cannot receive iMessages from iPhones to my cell number. which is a huge problem. I have tried turning iMessages on and off and resetting my network and nothing seems to be working. How can I resolve the problem?
I've tried going to settings, messages, then receive at, but it says error next to my phone number. I tried signing out of my apple ID and it just turned imessaging off all together
I'm using a fully updated 5s and getting a delivery failure message whenever I send pics via iMessage. The strange thing is that the people I'm messaging are receiving the messgaes and pics despite the error message on my side. I've talked with some other iPhone users and they are currently having the same issue but I don't see anything online about the problem. I guess it's not a big deal since the messages are being sent.Â
Frequently, my texts and imessages won't send, the little sending bar stops a little before the end. So I close my messaging app and reopen it to find all the spaces where my text conversations are now replaced with blank spaces. After a few seconds, the "write new message" window opens, and I am able to choose a contact to send to and type a message but the send button doesn't work.
Closing and reopening the app again makes no change. In addition, photos are also blurred, and completely freeze the screen when I tap them. So far my only temporary solution has been to do a reset by holding the home and power buttons, but it only lasts a short while (10 minutes?) before the above problem repeats itself. I am becoming very tired of restarting my phone, and even after restarting, the conflict is not always resolved. I have thought about getting a new phone, although mine is only a year and a half old, but I fear the problem will carry over onto a new phone if perhaps the issue is too many photos and messages?
This issue started with the last iOS update and has affected not only my phone, but my wife's and father in law's as well (we all have the exact same model) When I attempt to send a text message to my wife, my phone suddenly won't send imessages anymore. Only text. I have tried rebooting my phone, and my wife's phone. We have even tried wiping our phones and restoring them from backups. The problem still persists, wether we are at home connected to wifi or out of the house on 3G. The only way I have managed to send my wife an imessage was by creating a new contact with ONLY her e-mail address. That only worked once. since then, its trying to send everything as SMS again.
This is unacceptable as we live in an area with very poor celular coverage and rely heavily on wifi connections, therefore we won't receive an SMS until our phones get access to the celular network. All other apps and phone functions are working correctly across all 3 phones mentioned. On both my phone, and my wife's, I have double checked to ensure that iMessage is still turned on. I suspect that this is a global software issue seeing as it only started once we updated our phones to the latest iOS. My question is this:
Prior to the update, we were all able to send iMessages to eachother, regardless of where we were. The only time we'd have an issue is if someone's phone was turned off or not connected to either the celular 3G network or a wifi with internet access (which is natural).
Info: iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1, iMessages being sent as SMS instead
For the past couple of weeks all of my imessages that contain photos or if I try to share a contact they come back as undeliverable. I have upgraded my phone and I am still having the same issue.
After always using iPhones I'm finally making the switch over to Android. I'm most likely going to get a LG G4 to replace my iPhone 6 Plus but my main issue is I'm unsure how I can transfer my data from my iPhone to the LG ?
I'm most concerned about if I can copy my text messages and iMessages over so they will be on the new phone. Is this possible ?
