My iTunes library recognizes my 4S. I can see it under the Devices section. The problem is that it doesn't automatically sync the music and all the other stuff from the library to the iPhone itself. If I click the "Sync" button in the iPhone section, it will start to sync but won't actually sync. Please help.

I have just upgraded and got a new iphone 4s. When i plug it into the the computer the phone does not make the noise that it should (the same noise when you put it on charge) the computer does not recognise the phone as any form of device or driver, the computer doesnt even charge the iphone. I have opened itunes manually and tried to force connection this way but that didnt work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of itunes and can also confirm that the apple mobile support is installed, I even repaired it just to be sure.I have tried 3 different cables and 3 different USB ports but still nothing.What makes this even more frustrating is that the computer and itunes does recognise my partners iphone 4.

Out of nowhere my iphone is not being recognized by itunes but when it's connected it charges. Itunes does recognize my ipod so it can't be an issue with itunes or my usb cord right? Hey, gang! I'm confused about the "Sync Photos from iPhoto" option in iTunes. I clearly do not want to transfer *all* photos (years of accumulated digicam pictures), yet when I choose "Selected albums", iTunes gives me the following warning: "This iPhone contains photos synced with another photo library or folder. Photos and albums on "Name of iPhone" will be replaced with photos and albums from this computer. Photos taken with "Name of iPhone" will not be affected.
Well, this is bizarre--what other library or folder could my phone have been synched with? Plus, no matter what I was using, I certainly don't want to lose those photos on the iPhone!
Of course, what I really want to know is: "How do I use iTunes to automatically transfer the photos I've taken with the iPhone to my MacBook Pro?"
I know how to transfer photos using iPhoto, but that's laborious and I really want to transfer/back up my photos as part of my iTunes ritual.

I am trying to import and remove 600+ photos from my iPhone. This worked with many photos but the 600+ remaining will not import. iTunes says that there are no new photos to import which is strange because they are on my phone under Camera Roll. These seem to be photos taken prior to adding iCloud backup.

It doesn't charge; it doesn't tell me I have a USB connection, nor does my PC. However, if I reboot the phone with a USB cable plugged in, it works correctly. If it's plugged into a power source only, it charges normally. If it's plugged into a PC, when it finishes booting, there's a USB notifier in my pull-down menu, and I can interact with it as I should be able to. It charges, it syncs, it interacts with Media Link, Windows Media Player... it's just like it ought to be.The cable works (several cables, in fact). The phone works. If the phone reboots and wakes up impaled by a USB cable, everything is great, which tells me there's nothing physically wrong with the phone. It's consistent. I've tried it this way on three PCs (2 laptops and a desktop), at home, at work, and in my car.My FW and software are all up to date. I had the problem when I got the phone home, and I've done a complete factory reset, and then updated everything (or checked for updates and found software to be current) again.

I charged it last night and was able to turn it on and everything was fine...I was able to receive calls and get onto the Facebook app with no problems. I continued to let it charge and went to sleep. I awoke to a Blackberry that was off while still plugged in. My laptop rcognizes that the phone is plugged and it is charging the phone as well, but the software doesn't work. It keeps telling me that it is disconnected. When I run update for the desktop software it says I have the latest version installed. It still shows that my device software version is 5.0.0.983. I have turned off my firewall temporarily, rebooted the laptop, did a battery pull on the phone and nothing works. It still does not recognize the phone.

The media crad is being recognized by the phone but I cannot see the photos/videos/music etc. I thought my media card was corrupted or something but when I connected my phone in my laptop through usb I was able to access my files.
