IPhone :: Email Alerts Not Working Since Update?
May 18, 2012I no longer receive email alerts since my recent update

View 1 RepliesI have my work email account in Office 365, I have configured the account in my iPhone 4 running 7.1.1 & it's working fine.
But i have a problem here, i use outlook at Work & i have created folders & folder rules for different people working in my office the folders have been synced to my iPhone but when i receive a mail from a specific person for whom the folder is created i don't get an alert & if the mail comes directly to my inbox everything works fine.Â
I have to manually go to the folder & update it for syncing the emails. I am missing some of the important emails which i shouldn't have missed.
I've tried everything: In Sounds I turned Vibrate off, turned Email alerts to "None", and still when my volume is up I get this two-tone alert every time I get a new email. Even in the Apple store they didn't know what to do. I use my phone as an alarm clock but it keeps me up all night with this alert.
A possible cause: It's a personal/work phone, and my work installed an Exchange account on it. I also installed a separate Exchange account to sync with Google. So I have two Exchange accounts running (the alert only seems to come for the personal emails).
my fone just doesnt ring when i get a text message or any other form of alert!! it does ring when i get a call buh does not for evrything under alerts!! why is this hapenning?

My birthdays from contacts show up on my calendar and in the notification center, but I don't get any alert on my iPhone 4 (iOS 7), although I switched everything on in notification centre options, and also set default alert time for birthdays under calendar options on 'day of event (9:00)'. Other calendar events show up as expected, only birthdays fail. Also, birthday alerts do show up on my Mac, but I need the reminder on my iPhone - just missed two birthdays today!!

iPhone 4, iOS 5, iCloud. I have several email accounts on my iPhone and for some reason, it gives me an alert sound every time I get an email on my me.com account. The others don't alert me - I don't want alerts on any of them.
I turned Mail off in Notifications center and can't seem to find a notification setting for individual accounts. To be clear, I only get a tri-tone alert sound when .me mail comes in. Nothing in notification center. It gets really annoying because I'll get Apple marketing emails at 2-5am, waking me from my peaceful slumber!
shared calendar alerts not working

iPhone 5s, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
The calendar alerts have been deteriorating since my installation of Mavericks. It does not matter what I do, alerts are NOT working. This is immensely annoying. First I got double alerts, that were still sometimes working. Than I got single alerts that were rarely working. Now I have alerts that do not work EVER.Â

It seems this is a common issue in iPhone 4S when upgrade to iOS 7.1.2.
Anything I can do to resolve the issue especially that my work deepens on the push emails and alerts that requires prompt response.

Is there a way to turn off email and text alerts automatically each night?

I've had many smart phones, all of which you can have the email and text alerts be two different sounds. The HTC One M8 is setup just like they are. You select the notification sound in the settings app and that changes the email alert. You then go into the text app and from the settings there you can change the text alert to something else. Simple, except the text sound will not change.

I usually don't look at my phone for 4-5 hours into the day...is there a program that is available that can give an email if I miss a call or sms etc...? I carry my iPad with me and can view emails ...but if i have my phone the lack of reception kills my battery in an hour....
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed out of nowhere that my led indicator no longer works for any types of msgs. I am running Berry buzz on my 8900 so i thought maybe it was that....i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no alerts are working still.
Of course, i initially tried a battery pull...and when i put the battery back in the led went red so i know its not burnt out or anything. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Im thinking of jumping from os .250 to the 5.0 os but im concearned about berry buzz working. Thats my most important app.
I just recently got a new blackberry bold phone. When I go up in the left hand corner and put it on Vibrate, it vibrates my phone but my emails, text messages and other alerts still ring. With my old one I could put it on vibrate and it would vibrate them all. Is their a way to fix this so that when I put it on vibrate it vibrates everything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have experienced this feature on my gfs S4 so I know how it is supposed to work, but I have smart alerts turned on in the settings of my S5 but they do not seem to be working. I have not tested it with a missed called yet, but it says it works with messages and other notifications but it does not vibrate when I pick it up. Are there any other settings that might be affecting this? I do have the vibration turn on and up pretty high, and I even enabled vibrate during ringing just to be safe.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my L950XL . I'm using this phone ONLY with futures it comes with: phone, email, calendar, web browsing not often, sms messaging. No social networks, no movies, no games. But I keep my attention to this phone, because I like how it works, when it worked. Now, after more than month, few updates and fixes, I would like to ask few questions:
1) Is it possible to assign different alerts to different email accounts?
2) Is phone still crashing during phone calls thru Bluetooth?
3) How stable camera now?
4) Is it possible to "read sms messages aloud" thru Bluetooth without Cortana enabled, like it was in previous versions of WMP?
5) Is it possible to configure "Quiet Hours" without Cortana?
6) Does Cortana work thru Bluetooth speakers and microphone?
7) Is it still a "Room heater" during charging process?
8) Is battery drained in couple hours, if Cortana with all subservices( location, microphone, etc) enabled, but person in the subway and no GPS access?
When my phone is dark, in sleep mode after a timeout, I am not receiving any alerts/sounds when I receive an email. The LED light doesn't even light up. I receive alerts for Text Msgs & other "messaging" type apps, just not email. Immediately upon waking up the phone & authenticating, I get the Alert sound & the email msg pops up. This was an intermittent issue prior to the 5.1.1 update (which I had hoped would fix), but NOW it happens every time & is thus worse than before the update. I have tried several email APPS - and they all behave this way. Currently I have K9 Email installed. (I have WiFi enabled & Smart Wifi Search enabled).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI own a Curve 9300 with OS 6. How to clear all email alerts at once, instead of opening 1 by 1?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a curve 8530. I have a MESSAGES folder in my screen when I hit the menu button and in this folder, my missed calls, my bberry messenger (contact my contact by text), and my email is synchd. There as well as in my chosen home screen folders. I understand my email being sent there but my missed calls go to that folder only as well as some of the messenger texts as I stated. I have to hit the menu button, then open a message folder with a mixture of different types of messages and then I have to search for my missed calls and messenger texts in a mix of email. Why are missed calls going there and my messenger text?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had problems with my phone and had to restore it using a full handheld wipe. I reloaded ny data and all is well except that I cannot get my phone to give me a tone or a vibrate when I receive an email. I have the out of holster and the in holster settings set to vibrate+tone, high, 3 but it still will not give me any audio or vibrate alert just mail icon pops up so I can only tell if I look at the phone if I have new email.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust activated my new Bold 9700 with Bell this morning. Everything works except for the email audio alerts.I'm quite frustrated with it as I have tried many solutions, hopefully a tech rep here can provide a method that I have not already tried.
When I receive an email, the LED light comes on, the red asterisk appears in the main message section but there is no audio alert. I have the profile set to normal, sonar ping as the audio choice and set to always on inside or out of holster. This all started after I tried syncing with the contacts of my old device, a Blackberry 8830 with Bell.
Here is a recap, in chronological order.
-9700 activated, voice calls work, classic phone ring tone works, went to BIS site, set up my two email accounts with Gmail and Yahoo. Received messages and email audio alerts.
-the problem started once I synced my old 8830, version 4.5.0.127 with desktop mgr and transferred the address book and BB msgr contacts to the 9700.
-the email audio alerts stopped working on both gmail and yahoo, still getting the emails though. Strange because when the audio alert worked, the red asterisk indicating a new email would appear on both the message section and the gmail/yahoo message section. With the audio alert not working, the red asterisk only appears in the message section.
-at this point, the 9700 is running on v5.0.0.3 something
-the sync also failed to transfer the 8830 address book phone numbers to the 9700. The names and email addresses were transferred but no phone numbers.
-changed the profiles by selecting a different audio alert, turned the wireless network off and on, removed the battery for 5 minutes and re-booted. Still didn't work.
-wiped the device, set up the email again, email audo alerts still not working.
- at this point, I returned to the dealer for help. They used their desktop manager to sync with my 8830. Their sync worked better as the phone numbers were able to transfer over. Again though, no email audio alerts.
-dealer spent 90 minutes, yes 90 minutes working on my device. He did the same methods I tried......twice. They wiped my device.....twice. Updated the service books, changed the normal profile to a alert tone other than sonar, still not working.
-store was closing so dealer suggested I remove the BIS email from the old 8830. Keep in mind my 8830 and 9700 have different mobile numbers on seperate accounts.
-return home and decided to do the opposite of the dealer's suggestion, I deleted the BIS email (through BIS site on my PC) on the 9700 instead of the 8830 and registered it again. It worked!!! Getting email audio alerts on both email accounts!!! Now sync it to desktop manager for back up, once I do it asks if I want to upgrade to v5.0.0.423. I back up my profile and click ok.......bad idea. Once that happenned, the email audio alerts stopped working again.
-restored the back up data I just saved, email audiio alerts not working. Then removed and re-added the BIS emails again, plus updated new service books and audio alert options in normal profile.
-repeated battery removal, turning network off and on, no luck.
As of this moment, I have a 9700 with v5.0.0.423, updated service books and two BIS emails (gmail and yahoo) that are still not giving email audio alerts. Is this a software issue or a defect within my own device? What can I do to correct this? It's imperative for me to reply to my BIS emails in a timely manner so the email audio alerts are a must for me.
Also, my 8830 was on a BES up until four weeks ago. Now it's on BIS only although one of the BES settings is still present and I haven't been able to remove it. I'm talking about the password security feature, the 8830 always asks for my pw to unlock it. Haven't been able to disable it from the security options screen.
I've got my email and facebook set up on my phone, but how can you get it to alert (with a ringtone, chime, etc)? It must be so easy, I just can't get it figured out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do I set a different alert for text messages and e-mails?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery now and again, I miss an email in the non-gmail inbox. As well, I usually notice that I've gotten a duplicate alert for an already seen email. Example: Today I had a fedex confirmation from 10:30 come through at 3, for which I had already read two emails newer. The fedex email was not at the top of the stack, it was unread in the third slot.
