Is there a way to turn off email and text alerts automatically each night?

I know that mail alerts can be manually turned off in the notification center, but I don't want to have to manually do this everytime I play music. If I have emails come in while the music is playing, it lowers the sound of hte music and plays the alert notice. I would like this alert to be automatically disabled while playing music.

Is there an app available that will let me turn all message alerts off at a certain time, then turn them back on automatically at a set time the next morning?

I've tried everything: In Sounds I turned Vibrate off, turned Email alerts to "None", and still when my volume is up I get this two-tone alert every time I get a new email. Even in the Apple store they didn't know what to do. I use my phone as an alarm clock but it keeps me up all night with this alert.
A possible cause: It's a personal/work phone, and my work installed an Exchange account on it. I also installed a separate Exchange account to sync with Google. So I have two Exchange accounts running (the alert only seems to come for the personal emails).
iPhone 4, iOS 5, iCloud. I have several email accounts on my iPhone and for some reason, it gives me an alert sound every time I get an email on my me.com account. The others don't alert me - I don't want alerts on any of them.
I turned Mail off in Notifications center and can't seem to find a notification setting for individual accounts. To be clear, I only get a tri-tone alert sound when .me mail comes in. Nothing in notification center. It gets really annoying because I'll get Apple marketing emails at 2-5am, waking me from my peaceful slumber!
I get alot of messages and its a pain when I'm talking on the phone and I get message after message in my ear disrupting my conversation.

I've had many smart phones, all of which you can have the email and text alerts be two different sounds. The HTC One M8 is setup just like they are. You select the notification sound in the settings app and that changes the email alert. You then go into the text app and from the settings there you can change the text alert to something else. Simple, except the text sound will not change.

My new bb curve 9360 can't seem to do that. Once I navigate to any other apps or anything, it resets the music player, gets rid of Now Playing and I have to start all over (I try to cycle through all my mp3s on random/shuffle). How can I even get to texting w/o stopping the music. Shouldn't there be a Home button or something (that doesn't stop the music)? I set up facebook. Now how do I stop all the activation sounds every time someone posts something?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?

Is there a way to turn off BB Messages so it won't automatically get my email? Every time I go into "email account management" to see if there is a setting for this it tells me there are updates available. When I download the updates my phone stops working and I have to wipe it and start with a fresh install of 6.0.

My E71 keeps connecting to the internet via mobile 02 everynight automatically (strangely always around 2 mins past midnight). Its cost me sixty pounds over the last 2 months. I've uninstalled most of my downloads incase one of them was automatically connecting for updates but this has made no difference. The other night I switched the phone off at midnight but it still connected when I turned it back on. I've rung 02 and they've said it must be to do with a setting on the phone.

At night, while I'm trying to sleep, I don't want to be disturbed by audio notifications, but I still want calls and the alarm clock to wake me. If I use the "Ring/Silent Switch", it kills the audio notifications nicely, but also kills the tone for calls - and I missed 2 important calls last night. I know I can disable Wi-Fi, but then I won't get any emails and I need to be able to have my emails up-to-date. I often have scheduled work calls in the middle of the night but they can get cancelled so I like to be able to quickly check for cancelled calls before I fully wake up, so I can go back to sleep in possible. Is the only way to go through the Notification Centre and manually turn each time of notifcation off?

I have my work email account in Office 365, I have configured the account in my iPhone 4 running 7.1.1 & it's working fine.
But i have a problem here, i use outlook at Work & i have created folders & folder rules for different people working in my office the folders have been synced to my iPhone but when i receive a mail from a specific person for whom the folder is created i don't get an alert & if the mail comes directly to my inbox everything works fine.Â
I have to manually go to the folder & update it for syncing the emails. I am missing some of the important emails which i shouldn't have missed.
Usually a couple of times during the night I wake up to find my phone screen on. It's bugging me because this does not happen during the day. Otherwise I think I could turn off what is causing it to light up at night.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 5s with OS version 7.1.2 (11D257). Recently I noticed that I was missing calls and text messages because the phone didn't ring or give the text alert. There is no vibration either. The phone is not in "do not disturb" mode and the manual sound switch on the side of the phone is turned on. It doesn't happen on every call or text, but the past few days it is more than 75% of them. I find myself checking the phone more often now that I'm aware of the problem. That was prompted by the fact that it has already caused a few problems with customers and employees who have returned my call to them within seconds only to have my phone go to voicemail and me not see their message for up to a half hour or so. I'm going to do an update right now just to be sure that I have the latest and greatest Apple patches.
