IPhone :: Text & Mail Alerts In Status Bar
Jun 26, 2010I hope i dont sound stupid but i havent got the sms & mail alerts in the status bar. Im pretty sure in the 3GS they were automatic. Is it possible to enable them somehow?

IPhone :: Does Any Model Allow User To Set Text Alerts Indefinitely Until The Text Message Is Read
Jun 2, 2012I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?

Jul 30, 2010I have an iPhone 4, and I'm a bit annoyed with the level of control I have over the different alerts.I want to be able to separately control sound and vibrate for each type of alert (ringtone, email, SMS, ect.)Right now, it seems that if I have ringtone volume enabled, enabling alerts for new mail enables both sound and vibrate, and there is no choice to have new mail alerts as vibrate only without silencing the ringtone as well.
I like to hear incoming calls, although I get a lot of mail so it gets annoying hearing the new mail alert every 15 minutes.It would also be nice to change the vibrate patterns and alert tones for all of the different alerts, and to create profiles for quick changing
IPhone :: Automatically Turn Off Mail Alerts ONLY When Music Is Playing?
Jun 14, 2012I know that mail alerts can be manually turned off in the notification center, but I don't want to have to manually do this everytime I play music. If I have emails come in while the music is playing, it lowers the sound of hte music and plays the alert notice. I would like this alert to be automatically disabled while playing music.

May 17, 2010I recently had problems with my phone and had to restore it using a full handheld wipe. I reloaded ny data and all is well except that I cannot get my phone to give me a tone or a vibrate when I receive an email. I have the out of holster and the in holster settings set to vibrate+tone, high, 3 but it still will not give me any audio or vibrate alert just mail icon pops up so I can only tell if I look at the phone if I have new email.

IPhone 5s :: Doesn't Ring Or Give Text Alerts Every Time
Sep 10, 2014I have an iPhone 5s with OS version 7.1.2 (11D257). Recently I noticed that I was missing calls and text messages because the phone didn't ring or give the text alert. There is no vibration either. The phone is not in "do not disturb" mode and the manual sound switch on the side of the phone is turned on. It doesn't happen on every call or text, but the past few days it is more than 75% of them. I find myself checking the phone more often now that I'm aware of the problem. That was prompted by the fact that it has already caused a few problems with customers and employees who have returned my call to them within seconds only to have my phone go to voicemail and me not see their message for up to a half hour or so. I'm going to do an update right now just to be sure that I have the latest and greatest Apple patches.

My phone vibrates, but I what I want is my chosen alert tone in my ear. When I get a phone call, I get the phone number read to me and the alert tone. The blackberry keeps duplicating messages in the message folder as well as the text message location, which means listening to the message, then deleting the message from voice mail. Then deleting the message alert from the message location as well as the text message location.

Jun 24, 2010I am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didn’t see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasn’t. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I can’t do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyone’s phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You select the notification sound in the settings app and that changes the email alert. You then go into the text app and from the settings there you can change the text alert to something else. Simple, except the text sound will not change.

For example,

I used to be able to have different text alert sounds assigned on my old LG325, and just wondering if this phone has a similar feature.I find a lot of phones including my current Samsung Vice have only one ringtone for all text messages, which is annoying because I can't prioritize checking my incoming text messages, and have to look at every message to see if it's important.

Mar 8, 2012I love the new features that came with the Belle update, the email and social clients are great! but the only thing is that the mail client doesnt seem to sync mail "Read" status, so when i look at my mail on my N8, it will still be marked unread on my PC and vice versa.Is this an issue that is known and will it be fixed?

Jan 6, 2012What I like to do (and have always done with my other, non-blackberry phones) is go outside for a smoke, while listening to some music on my phone, then come back in, send some text messages and maybe make a call, then go out for another smoke, playing the music where I left off. My new bb curve 9360 can't seem to do that. Once I navigate to any other apps or anything, it resets the music player, gets rid of Now Playing and I have to start all over (I try to cycle through all my mp3s on random/shuffle). How can I even get to texting w/o stopping the music. Shouldn't there be a Home button or something (that doesn't stop the music)? I set up facebook. Now how do I stop all the activation sounds every time someone posts something?

Before the update I could just turn my phone on vibrate or mute and the alerts wouldn't interrupt my music. I'll be singing along to a song when suddenly the music stops, an alert tone comes on and the "new sms message" pops up on my radio display. It's bad enough that half of my apps stop working randomly for no reason since the update.
