I have a 16GB iPhone 4S which is only 11 months old (less than one year) and running iOS 7.1.1. Sometimes the sound gets quiet, especially if i lower the volume in Instagram...
This problem never happened when I was running iOS 6, but it started when I upgraded to iOS 7.0, making the upgrade to iOS 7 something I regret.
iPhone 4S 16GB, iOS 6.0 original, iOS 7.1.1, purchased unlocked from Apple
I just got the 5s and when placing or receiving a call, the sound is very low. I can barley hear the person on the other end. if I switch it to the speaker I have no problems hearing them. All other sounds, music and tones play fine and I've checked the volume button on the side and the sounds button under settings, everything is turned up to high. Is there any other place on the phone or settings to go to?
My phone's volume isn't working. I press the volume buttons but the screen only says "ringer" and doesn't show me the level. When I go into the volume settings I turn it all the way up and I still don't hear anything except the ringtones. Only ringtones. I can't play my games or watch videos like this. What's wrong with my phone?!
When I do on my newly purchased Samsung Galaxy S6, the volume is way too low to be able to understand anything. If I don't have any noise around me, it's fine, otherwise not. I have the volume all up. I tried this Volume+ app here: [URL] .... but it wouldn't change anything in the volume level.
A new issue with the 3.2 update. I set the speaker volume to zero and pressed OK. Later I attempted to reset the volume to full on. Next I initiated an MP4 movie (using the latest Quicktime); the movie plays fine but with no sound. I stop the movie go back to the sound setting and it has reset itself to zero. The same result with an MP3 music file. Is this a software compatibility issue?
Got a 4s. All of a sudden the podcasts I listen to are really quiet same with the music. I have to have it at 70 percent to hear anything in my headphones. Buddy has same podcast and it's so loud I can hear it outside his earbuds. Same headphones. I never noticed this before. I basically have to jam my earbuds super far into my ear canal to even hear anything. Sound check and limit are off.
I've had my iPhone 5 for about 6 months and its worked fine but the last few weeks the call sound has been really quiet. I can barely hear what the other person is saying. The sound plays fine for everything else though like music, ringtones, alarms etc. It definitely hasn't got the protective film on it still it doesn't have a screen protector on it either and the sound bar is up to the highest volume possible
Every so often these sounds become very quiet (adjusting the volume does not help) and only switching off and then on again restores them to normal levels
I have an iphone4, using it since 2 years. It was working good until yesterday, all of a sudden my earpiece volume has turned out very low. I barely can hear anything through it. Although having no physical damage this problem has been popped out.
The volume used to be fine on my Samsung S6 but in the last couple of months it has gone quiet - even Speaker is too quiet if there is any surrounding noise at all. This was not a problem when I first purchased it about 6 months ago. Now, I just cannot hear what callers are saying unless there is absolute quiet where I am. My hearing is fine!
Got my phone Thursday, setup went fine. Took a phone call on Friday. Sound was fine. Later that night, I used my Aux input in my car to listen to something off my phone. This morning I got a phone call, and couldn't hear anything. Retried the call a few times. Rebooted, same thing. Switch to speaker phone, I can hear a phone call fine. Ideas? Hardware or software?
When I make calls and recieve calls, no sound comes from the earpiece at the top, the volume level is maxed out and nothing. Then when I go and press the speaker it works. The phone is only 1 week old... the only thing installed is battery doctor
My speaker seems very quiet compared to my wife's phone which is exactly the same. Iv done the YouTube tutorials but no luck there. Other than swapping it with her in doors, is there something I'm missing.
I have my new iphone 4S - but the level of volume of the call entries is low - I put the volume in maxim but the issue is present yet?Is true ? this is a current damage for any iphone´s 4S.
I am working on project in which the requirement is like auto silent your iPhone.I have searched it but i haven't found any way to do this.
Is there any way by which i can set the volume to zero level? I have found one app which is doing the same thing. Can i do this thing programmatically?
My Z2 phone have started to turn on volume for notification and ringing volume by itself. I have gone through the settings and set all sounds to off, but after an hour or so, it is back to normal volume. Have had this problem for a week now. Have restarted the phone several times. Cleared all open apps. Nothing works.
I have no sound when receiving a call through the earpiece. The caller can hear me and the bottom speakers work fine. I can only hear when using headphones or speaker mode. Have tried restarting, tapping the earphone speaker, blowing into it..
I thought i had over slept my alarm but it turns out that the sound on my blackberry has gone really quiet. Even on full volume, its no-where near what it was like before?
I have a new Droid Turbo. Among the ringtone selections, the loudest I can find isn't sufficient for me to hear. Volume is at max. Where can I go to make it even louder? Is there an app I can download with louder ringtones.
This seems like it might be useful for most people: I want my ringer volume low when still or at home etc, and High when on the move. (I don't drive) Any Apps do this? Can it be done by writing my own App?

When i turn up the volume to high (when it goes red on the volumebar on screen) i cannot turn it down again via volume buttons.
I can turn up to maximum and turn down to where the red level begins, but i cannot turn down below the red line. Between, if i use the volume settings on screen, theres no problems.
If i turn down below high settings i can adjust via buttons fine but as soon as i get up to high again it wont turn down via buttons. Its the same with buttons on phone and on headset. I have done a full reinstall of iphone with no change to the problem.
Just noticed that sounds will start out at a low volume for first 2 seconds then jump to normal volume thereafter. It is easily reproduced by choosing ringtone sound and previewing or setting countdown timer in the clock app and listening to the expiration alarm. Checked sound and notification settings and didn't see any choice for turning a feature like this on or off.
