This problem never happened when I was running iOS 6, but it started when I upgraded to iOS 7.0, making the upgrade to iOS 7 something I regret.

Aug 25, 2014I've had my iPhone 5 for about 6 months and its worked fine but the last few weeks the call sound has been really quiet. I can barely hear what the other person is saying. The sound plays fine for everything else though like music, ringtones, alarms etc. It definitely hasn't got the protective film on it still it doesn't have a screen protector on it either and the sound bar is up to the highest volume possible

Dec 12, 2014Just noticed that sounds will start out at a low volume for first 2 seconds then jump to normal volume thereafter. It is easily reproduced by choosing ringtone sound and previewing or setting countdown timer in the clock app and listening to the expiration alarm. Checked sound and notification settings and didn't see any choice for turning a feature like this on or off.

Aug 11, 2010I did SSH my iphone using DISKAID, and in DISKAID there's this random glitch where sometimes when you're renaming a file it will name the whole folder the new name, and it happened to me with the MobileSMS.app folder, but i changed it back and didn't notice any problem. about an hour later i get a text (sound works), and while typing my reply the SMS app froze (if it's any clue it was during the magnifying glass thingy was on). I went in and out of the app using home button (multitasking enabled) but it wouldn't unfreeze so i rebooted the phone and it came back normal. but since then- no incoming SMS sound!
What's even weirder than that is the fact that even if i'm going to SETTINGS SOUNDSNEW TEXT MESSAGE and tap the different ringtones I don't get any sound!
Oh - another clue:
During my browsing through the phone's file system I did find another "ringtones" folder somewhere and deleted them all except for two - but as far as I know the call ringtones and the SMS ringtones are never in the same folder.. still, could I have deleted the SMS ringtone files? that would make pefect sense but.. is it even possible? or could it be something I accidently changed in the MobileSMS.app folder?

Jun 4, 2012i've had my iphone 4s for about half a year now and the sound coming out of the built-in speaker has been working fine until today. i didn't do anything out of the ordinary. i just opened up a video from Internet and noticed the sound was considerably less clear than usual. when i use earphones, the sound is crystal clear but when it comes out of the speaker, it's very scratchy and fuzzy. earlier today it was working fine. rebooting my iphone didn't help. i don't know if it's a firmware problem as i updated to 5.1.1 as soon as it was availible.

From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. May 10, 2012Two nights ago when I was in the middle of typing a txt message the keyboard clicks stopped sounding? I've checked the mute slider which is not on mute. Also when I press up or down on the volume controls, no bars appear to show the volume level, just the image of the bell without a line through it. I have tried a hard reset and checked all the volume settings in sounds but they are all switched to on. When I had headphones plugged in and tried txting I could hear the clicks and the lock sound. I have also cleaned the USB connector with a soft toothbrush...?? My macbook is currently with a computer engineer as he is trying to transfer data from my old laptop so cannot connect to my itunes.

It changed from the normal "qwerty" keyboard to the old style keyboard, with the abc on button "a", def on button "b", ghi on button "c" if that makes sense, like on old phones?It was like that all night. Switched my phone off at night as normal, switched it back on again in the morning and it was back to the "qwerty" keyboard again. Does anyone know what caused this to happen, it was really strange!!And I quite liked that old style keyboard, I dont know what the technical term for it is, but it was much quicker and less mistakes typing a message than the qwerty keyboard?

BB Bold :: 9650 Smartphone Sound Suddenly Went Off?
Nov 8, 2012I own a Verzon provided 9650 smartphone version 6.0 v6. till yday, everything was working perfectly. Since yesterday, i noticed that my Sound is suddenly off. Basically, when someone calls me, even in my "Loud" profile setting (with nothing being on silent in that profile), I cannot hear the phone ring (as if it was set on Silent setting). i can see there is a call coming (just as Silent setting) but i cannot hear the phone ring. If I use the speakerphone icon on the keypad, even then i cannot hear the caller. If i play a stored video, in speakerphone mode, I cannot hear anything and the same result if i play stored music, Similarly, i can SEE my alarm go off, but cannot HEAR it at all. However, if i use a handsfree/headset, i can hear everything, i.e. i can hear the caller, i can hear the music, video, etc. in any mode i cannot hear at all.
I have hard re-booted the handset (i.e.rmeoved battery when the phone is in ON mode) a few times but to no good. Problem still persists. Any help or recommendation would be helpful. I am updated with all my softwares, etc. I dont download anything from the internet (not even music) but do browse the internet (basically 2 or 3 very-well visited news and sports websites like ESPN, etc.
