My iPhone 4s suddenly stopped producing sounds, including ring tone, alerts, messages, alarms, key board noises and lock noises. Has anyone else experienced this? I have completed software updates, rebooted and checked all settings with no luck

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my photon in July 2011. when I make calls I have repeated problems with people hearing me. They say my voice fades in and out or sounds like I am in an echo chamber. It doesn't matter where I am at, home, office, on the road. It happens to everyone. It started with my first photon. I was told an upgrade was coming to fix it. Upgrade provided no fix. Phone got run over (don't try this, it ain't that tough), new photon arrived, right out of the box, same problem. Sprint gave me another photon. As I drove out of the Sprint parking lot making my first call, same problem. If I plug my ear buds in, the problem immediatly goes away. Neither Sprint or Motorola have any answers. Does anyone have similar problem? Any fixes? I do not believe it is the phone but I have no ideas.

I did SSH my iphone using DISKAID, and in DISKAID there's this random glitch where sometimes when you're renaming a file it will name the whole folder the new name, and it happened to me with the MobileSMS.app folder, but i changed it back and didn't notice any problem. about an hour later i get a text (sound works), and while typing my reply the SMS app froze (if it's any clue it was during the magnifying glass thingy was on). I went in and out of the app using home button (multitasking enabled) but it wouldn't unfreeze so i rebooted the phone and it came back normal. but since then- no incoming SMS sound!
What's even weirder than that is the fact that even if i'm going to SETTINGS SOUNDSNEW TEXT MESSAGE and tap the different ringtones I don't get any sound!
Oh - another clue:
During my browsing through the phone's file system I did find another "ringtones" folder somewhere and deleted them all except for two - but as far as I know the call ringtones and the SMS ringtones are never in the same folder.. still, could I have deleted the SMS ringtone files? that would make pefect sense but.. is it even possible? or could it be something I accidently changed in the MobileSMS.app folder?

i've had my iphone 4s for about half a year now and the sound coming out of the built-in speaker has been working fine until today. i didn't do anything out of the ordinary. i just opened up a video from Internet and noticed the sound was considerably less clear than usual. when i use earphones, the sound is crystal clear but when it comes out of the speaker, it's very scratchy and fuzzy. earlier today it was working fine. rebooting my iphone didn't help. i don't know if it's a firmware problem as i updated to 5.1.1 as soon as it was availible.

My issue since downloading ios8 and I just download ios8.1.2 YOU CANT LISTEN a radio from speaker while you work in garage or while music is playing suddenly sound stops when you look at the screen time is still counting but no voice etc. I have been using iPhone since day ONE and never ever seen this bad software issues.i got iphone 4s 64GB and if this continue soon I am gonna be switching to Android forever :

Every so often these sounds become very quiet (adjusting the volume does not help) and only switching off and then on again restores them to normal levels

I have iPhone 4s and I wish to stop the outgooing SMS sound which is annoying, especially at nights. I have disabled the option of SMS sound in Settings>Sounds>Text tones as None.
I have also disabled the option of sent mail in Settings>Sounds>Sent Mail to None. Still the Whooosh sound of outgoing SMS is not stopped.

i have had my Atrix since Nov. havent had any issues with it, until last week when suddenly the radio would stop working. it says i have signal, but i recieve nothing nor am i am able to send anything (text, email, calls, etc) but i have signal. i havent downloaded any bad apps. i also have Norton to "protect" me against bad apps. is there anything that i can do? i have no warranty anymore so will rooting my phone help? also im patiently waiting for ICS but growing more impatient by the day. wish they would give us a little update.
View 3 Replies View RelatedToday I woke up and it said a photo sharing cable was plugged in and there was nothing plugged into it. So I restarted my phone and then it wouldn't keep any app open for more than 5 seconds and it would exit out of it and didn't let me use the back button but the left one and the home button still worked. It also keeps saying the dock is connected when it isn't and when I tried charging it it kept not charging after a couple of seconds. Restarted again and this problem continued and then my phone said it was overheating but it wasn't even hot and it would turn off and now every time I turn on the phone within 5 minutes it says it is overheating and shuts down but it is cool as a cucumber.
Also it won't let me charge it because the battery is "too hot" and it's only at 30% so should I take it back to verizon?
My iphone 4s is producing more heat while using any apps and internet.

i have been using Torch 9860 since about a month, am facing a problem since last 20 days. the problem is the sound suddenly goes off. everything else is functional , its just that i cant hear ring tones , cant hear the person talking on other side, if dialed. View 4 Replies View RelatedI own a Verzon provided 9650 smartphone version 6.0 v6. till yday, everything was working perfectly. Since yesterday, i noticed that my Sound is suddenly off. Basically, when someone calls me, even in my "Loud" profile setting (with nothing being on silent in that profile), I cannot hear the phone ring (as if it was set on Silent setting). i can see there is a call coming (just as Silent setting) but i cannot hear the phone ring. If I use the speakerphone icon on the keypad, even then i cannot hear the caller. If i play a stored video, in speakerphone mode, I cannot hear anything and the same result if i play stored music, Similarly, i can SEE my alarm go off, but cannot HEAR it at all. However, if i use a handsfree/headset, i can hear everything, i.e. i can hear the caller, i can hear the music, video, etc. in any mode i cannot hear at all.
I have hard re-booted the handset (i.e.rmeoved battery when the phone is in ON mode) a few times but to no good. Problem still persists. Any help or recommendation would be helpful. I am updated with all my softwares, etc. I dont download anything from the internet (not even music) but do browse the internet (basically 2 or 3 very-well visited news and sports websites like ESPN, etc.
Just brought a zylo, nice phone.I noticed the sound stops when playing games and only can be reactivated after restarting. It happens randomly. I couldn't see anything about this online, so I wonder if this is a software issue or should i take the phone back for exchange?

I find this annoying because if I watch a video or playing a game the phone is constantly vibrating if I chose to have sound on. Is this normal, or is it some kind of defect on my phone? *Also, is it normal the phone goes extremely hot by playing some games for just a couple of minutes?
