IPhone :: Clear Email Inbox Without Affecting Desktop?
Jun 28, 2012
I just converted from a Blackberry enterprise system, where I could "delete Prior" on the handheld without affecting the emails that were in my inbox. It just cleaned up my BB screen. Can I do that on the iphone?
My Iphone4 email inbox is showing there is over 1,000 messages in the inbox but in fact there is only a few and email on my pc shows correctly. I cannot get the phone to show me the correct number of messages. Apart from this problem all email related things are working correctly.
After a long wait, my company renegotiated our cell phone plan, and I've upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an HTC One M9. So far I'm really enjoying it, save for a few minor details.
I have two email accounts. A gmail account (personal) and an exchange account (work). I really dislike the stock email app so I switched to TypeMail. I really like the layout and the unified inbox; however, more often than not read emails on my computer, and doing so doesn't clear notifications on my phone. This is something I never had a problem with on my iPhone. Reading emails on my computer generally doesn't make them appear as read IN the TypeMail inbox on on the TypeMail widget either. I have to refresh. This is true for both email accounts.
I don't know why this happened, I woke up this morning and it was like this. Whenever I try to open my email inbox the SMS inbox opens. Even if I go directly to my individual accounts on my BB (yahoo and gmail) and try to open them directly, it still opens my SMS inbox. I can't figure this out and can't find an answer. I have to check all my emails my going onto a computer. I still get notifications of new emails on my BB, but can't view them because only the SMS inbox will come up. I need my email inbox to show when I click on my email inbox.
Scenario 1: When I receive an email in gmail and I access it on blackberry it becomes unread on blackberry and when I view it on a normal desktop pc internet explorer browser.
Scenario 2: When I do the same from another blackberry the email in the inbox of blackberry becomes unread and and the email in the inbox viewed on a desktop pc DOES NOT become unread. Why the difference and how can I get the second scenario to work for my first blackberry mentioned in Scenario 1.
I've transferred my apps/games/etc to iTunes already. Every now and then I get bored of a game on my iPod/iPhone and I delete it. I can delete it because I also know I can download it again, since I have all my previous purchases saved on my Computer (in iTunes). Can I sync individual apps/games to my iPhone and leave what I had on there without it being deleted? I know I can manually choose a game/app and transfer it via iTunes, but is it possible to do this without having to re-arrange and start "fresh"?
The only other way is to re-download the app/game directly on my iPhone. I have over 200 apps on my iPhone, thats why it bugs me (having to re-arrange and organise all my stuff). If I come to transfer an individual app/game, iTunes resets my phone to default and I have to manually setup everything. All I want to do is ADD one app, without affecting the current structure/layout/apps that are already installed on my iPhone. Is this not possible???
Accidentally deleted inbox icon on desktop and can't recover. how to get it back? ALso, when software was reloaded I lost the free compass application. How do I reload the original software?
I just purchased copilot for my iPhone 4. The display is squeezed into the top 15% of the screen and mirrored side by side! But the touch is still full screen Its basically unusable.
Their facebook page has a small discussion thread saying they are working on fixing it. ugh
I've seen numerous posts about daylight savings affecting the time on the iphone, but haven't seen any responses to this particular question yet. Since daylight savings went into effect last weekend, my reminders are going off an hour early, even though the time on my iphone shows the current, proper time. My phone says it is 8:00 AM (CST). However, an alarm that I set for 8am went off at 7am this morning.
I am N900 user and downloaded the app "Conversations Inbox Desktop Widget". But somehow by mistake I uninstalled app (1.0.4) from my N900. And now I want to reinstall the new version (1.1.1) by downloading from app manager. Then error comes out and says: Application packages missing: Iibrtcom-eventlogger-plugins1 (>=1.4-1+0m5) librtcom-eventlogger1(>=1.3-4+0m5) My phone SW version is 3.2010.02-8. Could you tell me how to fix it?
I have the red circle with a 1 in it on my email icon, but when i go into my email the only "unread" things are these.i cant open them and i cant even swipe to delete them. Whats up with this?
Has a solution been found which will allow clearing the cached email address entries on an iproduct? Deleting contacts, addresses and rebooting the device doesn't work. Restoring the device should not be the only solution as many business users don't know the first thing about iTunes or syncing thus most enterprise devices have never been sync'd.
How do I clear out the email address' that are automatically saved and re appear when addressing a new email? This is unique to my phone and does not happen on either of the email accounts when using a computer.
In the last day or so have I experienced a problem where by I get a new email notification icon, but no new email in my inbox. At first I suspected it was the Android theme I have running, but when I went to use a different them I was getting the same result everytime.
I have random emails that show up in my inbox and then get sent to my deleted folder automatically. Does anyone know what is casusing this and what the solution to fix it. Recently I have deleted the exchange account and reinstalled to see if that would help. This started happening after the latest upgrade. I'm using a iphone 4S
Have an issue with 1 user. When he deletes email from Outlook (on Mac), it remains in the inbox on his iPhone. This will remain even if he does a manual sync. If he empties the Deleted Items forder in Outlook it will remove them from the iphone. If he deletes the email from his iPhone it will be deleted in Outlook.
have removed and re-added his account to the iPhone with no help.
I have an iPhone 5, iOS version 7.1. One of my email accounts, of type "Other", will always show messages as "unread" even though I have already read them through the web interface I use on my computer. It's hard to tell what's really unread mail. How do I fix this?Â
If I read the email on the phone, then it will show as read.Â
My blackberry can send and receive new email/message, but I can't read any new email/message in my inbox even the email notification shown there are 17 new message in my inbox. Have check the Firewall setting and it has block anything. Have check all the email folder but no joy, didn't set any email filter.
I've tried deleting the account and setting it back up again, also doesnt happening when i use the same account on either the web or my laptop, its just from my phone but only to my daughter email address and no one else.
I've recently setup my email accounts on my Iphone 3GS to use the IMAP protocol.I have 3 email accounts (different domains) all hosted with Ehosting. The problem I'm having is the same for deleted or moved emails, and only happens on the Iphone.Whenever I delete or move an email, it is removed from my inbox, and appears in the trash or deleted items folder, or the destination move folder on my Iphone. However when the Iphone next checks for email, the messages all reappear in the inbox (as read)If I delete or move them again, I end up with multiple copies in the deleted or moved folder destination on the iphne, for however many times I delete or move the mail. The deleted and moved folders on my Iphone, only organise themselves correctly once I check my mail on my mac, or windows laptop, and that deals with the changes made. The problem then starts all over again once the next series of emails are received on the Iphone.Very frustrating when your out and about and you continually receive mail prevously read, deleted or filed in your inbox (albeit read), and not able to access the mail from a mac or laptop.
On my mac (and a laptop) the mail accounts work perfectly with the imap protocol, behaving as I would expect deleted are moved the to the trash or deleted items folder, until such time as I permanently delete them.Messages moved to a different folder phsically move to that folder.Ehosting are suggesting it should work fine, and the problems lies with the Iphone, although I'm not convinced. As a test I also have a SKY.com email address which I never use, but last night I set this up on the Iphone. This is in affect a gmail account, badged up by sky. This account worked and behaved as I would expect on the Iphone (contrary to the problems others experience with gmail accounts), with deleted or moved messages, being placed in the correct folder on the Iphne, and not re-appearing in the Iphnes inbox on the next check for mail.Hopefully I've explained the problem with enough details for someone to offer a fix or resolution, and before anyone suggests it, I dont want to revert to POP emails.
I am having issue with my emails account and had deleted all my email account off of my blackberry.I had since to figure out how to delete the current email icons on my Blackberry.
There have been a few threads on this idea that having fewer home screen icons means a better performing storm. Has anyone tested this?I've been operating as if this assumption is true, but decided to do some searching to see if it was just rumor and hearsay. I've found nothing that confirms this notion.Anyone have any real insight as to how home screen icons affect performance?
i have recently changed from an iphone to the bold 9900 - setup email accounts and sync'd with outlook on my laptop no problems.BUT i cannot get it to sync my inbox subfolders.i have tried the mapping option in the advance options for sync but it just will not allow it ??am i missing something? does it have to be on an exchange server ?
