Apr 6, 2012I needed to update my phone to the 5.1 before I did I sync it so I could get everything back. Before I hit update I made sure it said last sync with the date and time. Jun 18, 2012I had to switch iPhones and tried to restore my Data to another iPhone. iTunes always tells me: „... cannot restore because iPhone is not compatible or backup is corrupt". My "old" iPhone with all the data on it is already in use with another config. So I went back and tried with my old one (btw. both iPhone 4s 5.1.1 iOS iTunes is 10.6.3 (25)), same message!
I restored my MobileSync folder by using TimeMachine and tried the last 8 backups to restore and failed every time with the same message. I can access the backup by using MobileSyncBrowser or iPhoneBackup Extractor. The Data is there and accessible. How can I restore the data to my iphone? Is there a way to check backups why they are corrupt an fix them? Are there different iOS5.1.1 builds? Is there a way to check the Backup for the exact iOS Build?

Jun 6, 2014I recently downloaded IOS 8 from my developer account, and i got tired of all the crashes so i decided to restore back to IOS 7.1.1 , and so i downloaded the latest IOS 7 IPSW , entered DFU Mode and i held down option on my mac and clicked "Restore" , chose my IPSW, but halfway through iTunes froze. I waited for about 40 minutes but then i needed to go, so i took it out without a choice.
I came back and it was in Recovery mode,i tried the same steps, but it keeps freezing at the exact same moment.
I tried both of my mac's USB ports, two lightning bolt cables, another Windows PC, nothing seems to work.
The strange thing is, when i try to restore it on my Mac it just freezes in the middle, but when i try to restore it on my PC it just gives me an error.
The error is:" The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be restored.An unknown error occurred. Error number 14".
I have everything updated,i tried to restore when it is in recovery mode,after i downloaded the IPSW from iTunes,tried downloading from multiple sources,nothing seems to work.

May 20, 2011I just received a replacement handset. In order to repopulate my PIMs, I downloaded and installed Funambol. It connected and synced my calendar, tasks and notes, but the contacts have become corrupted. I can see them, but I can't access them or remove them.
I tried to remove them with the desktop manager. After a soft reboot, I could remove them, or so I thought, but even if I did a soft restart at this point, when I tried to restore from the backup I made before I got the replacement, I just get an error message saying that the restore failed. When I look, I find the contacts have all reappeared, but are still unusable. I even tried uninstalling Funambol and soft resetting, but the results were the same.
Lumia 1020 :: Hi-Res Photos Becoming Corrupt?
Jan 1, 2015I use Lumia Camera or Proshot to capture most of my photos, while also using the native camera app when I want to take burst photos.
For the Lumia Camera, I usually go for JPEG (5 + 34/38 MP), changing aspect ratio now and then. Sometimes, 5 MP photos are fine, but the 34/38 MP ones will get corrupted, i.e. they will either be just green or grey backgrounds. Same thing also tends to happen with DNG files, that they cannot be opened by Photoshop or some other software.
This issue (corrupt high-res photos) also tend to happen with Proshot when shooting with high-res.
Performing a soft reset solved the problem, but I'm getting tired of soft resetting my phone every now and then.
I've attached 3 screenshots.
1: Basic viewing of the 5 MP photo. No issue here.
2: When I pressed "Open with Lumia Camera", this green photo happens. Instead of a high-res photo, I get a high-res green background.
3: Using a File Explorer, you can see that the photos affected are the high res ones from Lumia Camera. Also happens with ProShot's high-res photos.
Windows :: Corrupt Memory Cards
Jun 15, 2012Yesterday I bought a bricked HTC Surround because I wanted to see what I could do with it .My observation was the dreaded stuck on the HTC screen. So I researched and also had a samsung focus handy and found out a key problem we all know about the corrupt memory cards. So I download stock roms of both the focus and surround. My concern was merely on the surround ;I flashed the surround to att stock rom: i bought a torex 8 in 1 and a phillip .00 screwdrivers and opened the surround and took the memory card out and cleaned the memory card then i put the phone back together without the screws or the memory card I did the reboot reset on; the phone partitioned on its own memory: THEN the phone would not connect to Zune so I went under the computer on the start menu right clicked on then opened properties and open device manager connected the the surround to the device manager and forced it to download drivers(unknown device will come up when on device manager). Next I disconnected the phone after i had gotten the drivers on my computer (reassembled phone with memorycard and simcard in) I made sure gb was in the about phone column before i synced it to zune. The focus I used as a reference for how it would update and wp7 build. AND now the surround enjoys mango .

Jan 7, 2013"Do 32 Gb micro SD cards actually work reliably in DROID4?"I just switched carriers and my son and I ended up both with DROID4 phones and 32 Gb micro SD cards (SANdisk). On the first day, I experienced several freezes of my phone when doing things which used the SD card. In particular, taking pictures and sending some pictures via text (well, MMS) message. By freeze, I mean the screen would go blank but if someone texted me, the phone will still buzz but nothing I could do short of power cycling (power + volume down for 10 seconds) would make the phone respond again.
The other issue I had is I connected a USB cable from a windows 7 laptop to the phone. The phone showed up as drives E, F, and G. E had some motorola software, F, was the phone internal storage and G was the micro SD card. I tried to copy a folder containing some pictures and music from my old phone over. After the first 2 out of a few hundred files copied, windows explorer stopped responding and the phone was frozen too. Waited for hours and it never came back. So, reboot phone, reboot computer. Phone says SD card is bad and I need to format it. So I did. Tried again and got the same results. Then I tried taking the card out of the phone and putting in the computer with the USB adapter that came with the card. Computer says card is corrupt and needs formatting. So... format on the computer. Then I copied all the pictures and music over that I wanted. No problems. Put the card back in the phone. Phone says card is corrupt and needs formatting. Told it to format and the phone froze again.So after getting frustrated I tried putting an old 8 Gb card in the phone after formatting on the computer (FAT32). I was able to connect phone to computer with USB and copy all my files over to the SD card, no problems. Haven't had any more issues. That made me think that perhaps I just had a bad 32 Gb card so I called verizon and asked them to send a replacement which is supposedly in the mail.
That all consumed a day. After all that my son starts taking pictures on his identical phone. And... he starts getting some freezes on his phone. This leads me to ask the question "do 32 Gb micro SD cards actually work on DROID4?". Related to this, what allocation size do folks use if they format the card on a PC before putting in this phone?I really don't have time/energy to keep messing with the phone but would like the larger storage. However I am forced to wonder if these phones just don't play well with 32 Gb cards as I find the chances of both my son and I getting bad new in the box cards to be unlikely.

Feb 6, 2010I recently have had trouble transferring music to my N97. I keep getting message the the folder was corrupt. I eventually removed all the music from my device though there are still some files there and I can not see them using File Management. Another thing that is occurring is that every time I go the my Music Player is says USB connection active and is has been hours doing this. In fact is locks up and I have to remove the battery and restart again. When I go back to music the does the same thing again and for hours. No music is being transferred as I have checked.

Nokia E71 :: 8GB MiniSD Card Corrupt / Encrypted Error?
Mar 27, 2010I have the much reported "memory card corrupt" error after upgrading the E71 to the latest firmware. I tried to look all over how to deal with this, most of the answers seem to be oriented towards trying to recover the data. I don't want, it, I just want to use the card. its encryption says its on, tried to unencrypt with the password pk5 file I had, accepts no password I have. so I tried all the suggested ways to format it - from the phone (doesn't work, it says "memory card in use" which isn't true, how can it be in use if its corrupt? I then select "continue anyway" then it just flashes quickly as if it formatted it and then does nothing) or from a PC with a card reader, tried several readers but always shows up the drive letter but when I try to format it in windows it says "There is no disk in drive X" must I throw away this 8GB MiniSD just because I upgraded firmware?
