Jul 3, 2012
I have just tried to back-up & update my iPhone but when doing so iTunes gives an error message saing that it can't restore or back-up as the phone is corrupt? The phone is only 5 months old and was restored successfully last time
"itunes cou;ld not back up the iphone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iphone.Delete the back up for this iphone, then try again" when i try and delete the backup using edit>preferences>devices there is no backup.
The above message is what I get when i try to back up my iPhone 4s to my PC. I tried deleting the backup through Edit > Preferences and so on, but I still get the same message! How can I get rid of this message and backup my iPhone?
Itunes won't let me sync my iphone. I get a message saying; "Itunes could not back up the iphone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iphone"
I use an external drive regularly, are my iPhone backups on there somewhere? My current iPhone backup says Corrupt so I need to go back further than what is available on my mac's itunes.
My new iPhone 6 won't restore an older back up from my iPhone 5 that is saved via my iTunes on my mac as it says the backup is corrupt. I gather this is something to do with different software versions on the two devices but is there a way to resolve this?
I have an i-phone 4s. Iam trying to backup in order to upgrade to version ios 7.1.2. It says my backup is corrupt and that i should delete it. How do i do that?
I have got all my music, photos and apps sorted but how can I save my playlists, contacts, sms and notes? I am backed up to iCloud but if I sync my phone with iTunes will I lose all my data? I haven't dared click sync as I don't want to lose what I have on my phone.
I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. I just plugged my phone into a USB connected to my sisters MacBook and it backed up perfectly! Is this something wrong with my computer?
Basically my iTunes has been showing this error message whenever I sync my iPhone with it, probably for around the last 2 or 3 months, maybe longer. Everything is transfered fine it's just that this message comes up.
It says to delete the backup file how do I do this and it won't delete anything off the actual iPhone will it?
I get this error: iTunes could not back up the iPhone " xxxx iPhone" because the iPhone is disconnected. Of course it is not true, I have it connected, it will sync but not back up. I had old back ups from another iPhone, but I had to exchange it out for this one. I have tried everything I could find on the internet, and all the programs on my iPhone is the same as the old one.
I just got a new iphone because the sleep button on my old one didnt work. I backed up my old phone to my computer before I switched phones. While I was restoring the phone my daughter disconnected it. Is all my information gone? is there a way I can restore it to a previous back up date?
I have iPhone of the first generation and have recently bought a new 4S. How can I back up my old iPhone contacts to my PC and then transfer them to my new iPhone?
I obviously cannot use the iCloud with the old iPhone. I also do not want to sync the iPhone with iTunes in order to transfer the contacts to the PC since I am on a new laptop and the music on the iPhone will get deleted during sync with my new empty iTunes library. I am getting a similar message each time I want to transfer the contacts over to my computer via iTunes sync:
I have ruined my iphone, and now I can't get those songs I bought on it, to my computer. Is there any way that I can download the songs form itunes? It's about 4 albums i have bought.
my itunes is asking for a password to do a back up restore, I have used my itunes password but its not working and I am unable to recover anything, contacts, photos, messages etc.
Every since the last IOS update I keep getting this error. I tried several POC and phone resets and restarts. I tried removing the old backups and then reseting some more but I keep getting this error. "ITunes could not back up the iphone "iphone" because an error occurred". I searched online and I can't find any solutions that work. Is this Apples way of trying to force you to use iCloud or is there another way to restore my phone without using the restore function and losing my data?
I discovered that i deleted videos and pictures that i did not want to delete and need them back. I have since backed my iphone up a few times on itunes and need to recovers my pictures from further back. I tried the iphone extracter but it would only let me recover from my most recent back up
I recently backed up my damaged 4gsm to iTunes. I have since been issues with 4s version. When I try to restore my 4s from iTunes backup option, iTunes asks for a password. There is no option to help retrieve this password & I have tried effortlessly to use a variety of potential passwords but still cannot get past this lock section. I can see that it was backed up but I just can't get into the back up due to this silly password request.
