Dec 29, 2011How do I delete a corrupt contact, no matter what I try, I cant get rid of a contact that has two(2) ++ sings one on top of each other before the name.

Jun 8, 2011My PIN seems to have got out into the public domain and I have received 20+ PIN requests today from users who I do not know and have no intention of accepting. Some I have deleted, others I have ignored, but they are still coming through. I haven't published my PIN in any public forum (facebook for example) and only actually have about 12 BB messenger contacts so have no idea why this has happened. One has got through and I cannot delete the contact from my list (I have the pin so will happily provide it as I have no idea who it is) The names of the users seem to be odd characters and graphics. block new PIN requests (I have tried via the firewall but it hasn't stopped it) and how to delete the mysterious contact (as I write this a request has come through!)

Although they appear normal when being viewed on the Blackberry, but when I connect it to a PC and try to view them there they are either a mixture of several photos I have taken in one picture or in some cases even the image header is corrupt. When i scrol down through emails the body of the message disappears and the screen changes to a check pattern. if I scroll backup the text reappears. This only seems to happen on emails - not in a browser or any other app where I scroll through content. It seemd to fix when i remove the battery and restart the device but a few days later it does it again.

Nov 26, 2011Somehow when I sync my Bold 9700 to my Outlook for Mac (which is linked to my Google mail account), the contacts in my device are duplicated as part of a Contact List that I never created. What's even weirder is that the name of that contact list is named with another email address, which was once from one of my contacts. Confusing?
Anyway, I cannot find anywhere in Outlook or Google, or on my device, an option to remove the bogus contact list.

Jan 2, 2015So for the past while the stock messaging app has been slow, particularly with one contact. I have near 8000 texts with this person in the thread and that is most obviosly the issue. The thing is, it now won't let me delete the thread.
I've tried deleting from messages screen (clicking the contact), from within the thread (select all>delete) and by using message deletion apps. It always results in either the phone completely freezing or the app becoming impossible to use, forcing me to restart the phone. I've also cleared the app data+cache and disabled/enabled the app.
The only thing now as far as I know is to manually delete the messages in small amounts (anything 100 or more tends to freeze the phone). This is clearly time consuming and annoying. Is there anything else I can try?
