Jan 20, 2010Now i had been having problems with my storm 2 in the form of crackling earpiece, dodgy battery door, dropped calls etc. I have sent the phone off and received a nice replacement which hsa addressed all the problems.Now the problem I have is how do i go about restoring the back up data from my old blackberry onto my new one. I could not do the device switch wizard as i didn't have the two phones at the same time.
I have just done a large update on the new one and am now running the latest official Vodaphone firmware (436). I had only had the original phone for about a month, is it worth the bother of restoring what must be a smalll amount of data? What is contained in the back up file by the way?

However now I can't access them.My provider (vodaffone) transfered my SIM to a MicroSIM to use with my new iphone so the original normal sized SIM I have is no longer functioning meaning I cannot use the BB handset to download the contacts from BB Protect. We tried to do this in the Vodafone shop with no success as BB protect wouldn't recognise the new device and wanted the old one which I no longer have (I've had 5 in 7 months).All I want to do is get a list of the 300 contacts locked away in BB protect in any form. Jul 15, 2012My N9 got bricked when I tried to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3 a few days back, and when I tried to using the contact page at nokia.com/no-no/support/contact-us/ I got errors saying I had not filled in the message and version number fields, although I had done so.
I tried on 3 PCs, 2 with Windows and one with Kubuntu, tried using Firefox and Opera on all of them, with varying installs of Flash and all that (including the latest) if that should matter at all...
My N9 issue is resolved now thanks to some un-bricking guides and software... so altough it still does freeze and reboot quite often (not as often as with older firmware though) it's finally usable again, but I'd just thought I let you know about my contact issues in case anyone else have the same experience.
BB Torch 9800 :: Ease Of Switching From Bold 9000 Form Factor To Touch Screen?
Aug 6, 2010Went to an at&t store today and played with the 9800. I had been excited about it, but had never used a touch screen before. Wow, forgetting any issues that “may” exist with OS or the device itself which others have more than covered enough elsewhere in this forum, I was somewhat disappointed. As implied, it’s not the device or OS, but the use of a touch screen vs. my Bold 9000 that I love so much (and thus I’d probably have the same view with switching to any other touch screen device, BB or not). (However, the 9000 keyboard still IMHO exceeds all others including the 9800, which I found to be small, even for my small fingers).
But for those of you who have switched from similar devices to a touch screen, how was the experience? How long did it take to get fully used to a touch screen etc.? One thing I anticipate missing - believe it or not - is the ease of getting around on my Bold. Now I have PocketDay and have 2 short cuts assigned to every key. Not sure if I’ll have the same abilities on the 9800 etc.

I just want to add some songs which location I know. searchin for one bl**dy song between 2000 other tittles is just ridiculous. Options provided by SE vivaz pro symbian software are just useless. Its easier to remember name of folder containing 100 songs than to learn by heart 100 tittles with artists names. I got used to listening to one huge set of e.g. house shared on 10 parts but in some way vivaz pro player spreadet them on the begining , midlle and end of ALL bout 2500 songs list. Is it possible to create some software update fixing this ridiculous mistake? maby there already is sth like that?
