Can I share my iPhone's iTunes library with my Macbook using HomeShare? Or is only from Macbook to mobile devices? I have set everything up - but my Macbook does not find my iPhone.

When I like to share it in between, some music songs can not get from the Mac to the iPhone, even if I have approved the two to share music in between? i am stuck in a tricky situation and would things first i know this is quite a frequently asked question as i have done a bit of searching on the net about it however could not not find anything that totaly matches myproblem, i have recently purchased a brand new laptop which runs windows 7 compared to my old desktop which ran XP, i have tried syncing all of my iphone 4s contents onto my new laptop's itunes library including everything not just music or videos and i got the infamous pop up "The iphone is synced with another Itunes library. Do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this Itunes library" the problem is that my original itunes library does not exist no more as my desktop was completly wiped and had XP redownloaded onto it again because it had a virus, which also wiped all of my hard drive so i cant even get everything i backed up off of my phone from it, i have managed to sign in to the itunes store and allowed my laptop to work with itunes,i have also transferred my purchases from my phone to my new itunes library but this only includes my apps and obviously not my contacts and photos and everything, i still get the pop up if i go to sync my apps from my library anyway, is there any way i can delete my original itunes library without it even existing anymore so that i can just start afresh and sync everything i have on my phone now directly to my new itunes library? or do i need to purchase this iphone rip/backup/store software that everyone goes on about or something? to be honest its really annoying my now as i just want to be able to sync everything like how i used to,

i just want to confirm that i got this right, because no one seems to be mentioning this. I have an iPhone 3g and there doesn't seem to be any app file sharing in itunes. It didn't make sense to me to bother with new one since the $$ comes from the same bank account. So I would like to know if there is a way to share our paid applications? For example a few gaming apps that allow us to play together on our WiFi, but of course I only want to buy them once if at all possible. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a new macbook pro and I have mostly made it similar to my old mac (I did it manually cause I didn't want to copy every little thing from the old mac so I didn't use migration assistance except for the applications).Anyways, I even took my old itunes folder from my old computer and replaced it over the current itunes folder. So that made itunes show up exactly like it did on my old computer (kept my playlists that told me when I added a song).

I just connected my iphone right now just to see what would happen (like would it wipe it clean, look at it as a guest iphone, be able to recognize it).Except, the iphone doesn't recognize it is plugged into a computer (it starts charging but doesn't say syncing or anything) and itunes acts like nothing got plugged in at all. They totally are not making any recognition that they are connected (The iphone is treating the laptop like a plug in the wall charger basically).
How do I get itunes to recognize there is an iphone connected to it?

The hard drive of my computer recently died and with all my itune music library as well as my custom ringtones with it. I have now recreate all my custom ringtones and put them into a folder call Tones on my desktop. However, I cannot add the folder back into the itune library even after going through the itune add folder function on itune 10.6. Is this a known problem for the itune 10.6?
