Jun 13, 2012
I am trying to restore a backup og my iphone 4 from itunes on my macbook, it asks me for a password which I do not recall setting up, is there any way of getting this password.
I had my iPhone unlocked over the phone. They said I need to backup the iPhone and restore to finish the unlock process. I backed up the iPhone in iTunes already. Will all of my contacts and pictures be deleted when I restore?
I seem to have lost my data in iphone 5s. It is asking to either setup as a new phone or restore from itunes backup. The last back i did was today afternoon when everything was intact. But once the iphone was connected to itunes, it automatically started backing up the device with no data (as it was wiped out), now when I attempt to restore from itunes backup all it does is restore from the latest backup. This afternoon's successful backup does not seem to get listed in the list of backups. The reason for doing backup is to restore when in need.
I had recently formatted my iphone with no itunes backup. I restored my data with icloud but all the pics didn't come back. Now when I tried to restore again, icloud deleted all my pics from the server too!! is there any way I can get them back??
Will it be possible to sync my new iP4 from a 3.1.3 backup of a 3G? Or must I install iOS4 on the 3G in order to restore from backup once the iP4 arrives?I am hesitant to install iOS4 on my 3G because of the conflicting reports it slows the phone way down.
Just curious - when I get the new iPhone 4, will I be able to restore from one of my 3GS backups in order to get all my settings/saved app data, all that good stuff?Or do you have to set up iPhone 4's as New?
My iPhone was having problems with syncing music from iTunes so I restored it to factory settings, then attempted to restore from one of my previous backups; all seemed to be going fine, the Restore in Progress screen came up on my iPhone, followed by the Apple logo and beneath it a loading bar. About 15 hours later and there's been no movement in the loading bar, it's still empty, so I'm assuming it must be frozen.

I have recently updated to a new iPhone 4S and want to back up/sync all of my contacts and calendar infor from my old iPhone 3G to my husband's MacBook Pro and then add it all to my new phone. I understand that this needs to be done via iTunes but am worried that if i sync it this way it will wipe all of my details on my phone and replace it with y (empty) ical info from the MacBook?
I have already backed up the phone using itunes - backup - but when i click 'sync calendar' in the itunes prefs it only displays the calendars on the mac (Work and Home) and not the phone (Calendar)
So I lost my iphone sunday and am getting one from a friend tonight. My 3G was extremely customized with lockinfo and categories and categoriesSB, etc.If I jailbreak this new 3G, and restore from that backup, what exactly will happen if I have nothing installed?I know its best to start completely fresh after a JB, but I have some savedata I dont want to lose for the 2nd time.Would all my apps go back on the phone but in completely random places?Would my backup install mobilesubstrate addons without me doing it manually in Cydia?
So I needed to restore my iphone from a backup because when I tried syncing an app I got an error then everytime I connected my phone to itunes it was asking to either restore from backup or setup as new device and I restored from backup.Just wanted to know if my iphone is still jailbroken after restoring from a backup because I still have Cydia and the other stuff.
So like, I have iTunes on this computer that has the perfect back up for my iPhone, but it can't connect to any internets so I can't restore it. Is there a way for me to get that backup file and stuff and put it on a flash drive so I can put it on a different computer that can connect to internet and back up my phone?
And yeah I tried using these file destinations;
On Windows XP: Documents and Settings(username)Application DataApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup
On Windows Vista and Windows 7: Users(username)AppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup
But I had no luck in finding anything after (username). Like, I don't have 'Application Data' or 'AppData' as a folder on my computer. Any help would be a lifesaver, seriously.
After restoring from a backup all my songs are gone from my phone. is there a way to get them back other than going back and re-uploading them all individually from my pc?
iphone messed up so i backed it up at 1:46am so i could basically restore my phone as new. anyways, tried to restore from my backup at 1:46am and there's not an option to restore it from. it has one from 2am, so i clicked that and i lost everything. not really sure why. also went to itunes>preferences>devices and my backup from 1:46am is there but i'm not sure what i can do about it. viewed it in finder and dragged it to my desktop just incase i need to use it.
lost my old iphone 4s and got a warranty replacement iphone 4s. However when I tried to restore a recent backup I made to the cloud it said that I could not do it because the old backup was on an older ios and the new phone was on a new ios. Is there anyway that I can somehow restore this backup? Also I don't have any backups to itunes.
The backup of my iPhone 3G has a plethora of partitions filled with errors from jailbreaking and I don't want that on my iPhone 4.In addition to contacts, I need my calendar and mail and photos, if possible.
I deleted something from my iPhone and wanted to restore it to the last back up from icloud. I wiped the phone, but when I restored it back, I had no contacts, notes, imessages, etc. Everything was gone.
I just upgraded from a 3GS to a 4 - it prompts me to restore from my backup of my old phone, seems to run through it fine, reboots, but then prompts me again to set up my phone - no option for syncing.

I had not backed up my phone in several years and was unfamiliar with the process. I opened Itunes and connected my iphone. I hit restore phone instead of backup. Not smart. Now, I have all the data on my phone from my last back up from 2011. How can I recover the original data that I was trying to backup?
I want to restore my camera roll photos from a backup. I had problems with no service issue and it is ok now but I had to restore as new phone so could not able to get the photos.
