IPhone :: Backup Calendar Info From It To A MacBook?
Apr 1, 2012
I have recently updated to a new iPhone 4S and want to back up/sync all of my contacts and calendar infor from my old iPhone 3G to my husband's MacBook Pro and then add it all to my new phone. I understand that this needs to be done via iTunes but am worried that if i sync it this way it will wipe all of my details on my phone and replace it with y (empty) ical info from the MacBook?
I have already backed up the phone using itunes - backup - but when i click 'sync calendar' in the itunes prefs it only displays the calendars on the mac (Work and Home) and not the phone (Calendar)
I have recently updated my device software. I did not backup anything because I did not have any warning from maker to do so. I lost extremely important text messages, phone numbers, my calendar information. Is there any chance on this world to retrieve now all of them?
I am trying to restore a backup og my iphone 4 from itunes on my macbook, it asks me for a password which I do not recall setting up, is there any way of getting this password.
I recently purchased a MacBook Pro (15" 2.5gHz) off a friend and am using it as my primary computer. When using iTunes, I click to sync my calendars with iCal and tell it to sync (along with syncing contacts, notes, apps, etc).Everything syncs perfectly EXCEPT for my calendars, which wipe the contents of my phone and replaces it with whatever is on my MacBook Pro. If there is one event or ten events on the laptop, they transfer onto the iPhone and none of my iPhone events transfer onto the laptop and are lost, so I am left to restore from a back up and try again.
I have tried using both iCal and Entourage. I had this problem once with Outlook on Windows 7 in which I lost all my calendar events but the next sync showed no problems. I have tried this sync on my Mac at least 10 times, trying to choose something different each time, but with no luck.
I have looked into this extensively but cannot find anyone with the same problem as me, let alone a solution. I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.4
I am back tracking to 2011 calender, adding appointments or activities that I had, but somehow my iphone 4s doesn't save it. If adding a similar appointments on different dates, one of them disappears.
I have backed up my Torch using the BlackBerry Protect application, then I restored it at a later date. I can view my contacts but not my SMS, MMS or emails? I just get a little green icon on them with the date but I can not see any information.
I just upgraded the software to version 4.5 and in doing so lost all my photos and addresses. I see that a backup file was created (named LoaderBackup-(2010-08-08).ipd) that now resides on my computer. Is there a way for me to access this file to restore photos and addresses, etc? I'm willing to go back to the previous software version to do this.
I want to begin using a different smartphone so I used the backup feature on BB Desktop to save my info. How do i get that data to key into my new phone? Windows says its cannot open the (.ipd) file and the only program i see on the web costs $29.95. Is there an easier / free way to get this data?
I'm trying to sync my BB with my laptop to backup the info. It gets to - Back up in progress - Says: Backing up smartcard options 1 of 1 record, when it gets to this point it stops. why?
I use Ray under official 2.3.4 / built 4.0.2.A.0.62 -> This built is not rootable as indicated on XDA and failed with UnlockRoot.
1. I bought with my previous smartphone Titanium BackUp Pro to backup and manage my Android Phone. Do i have to forget this with my Xperia Ray ?
2. I never use Twitter app, Facebook app, fun to download app, video unlimited app that are automatically loaded on boot. When i go to manage apps menu, i only can "force stop" for those apps. So how can i uninstall or unload them on boot? without be able to root my phone ? adb is a solution ?
3. For some reasons i want to keep wifi connection active even if my phone is in sleep mode, can i manage WiFi sleep policy without root permissions?
My HTC ONe is broken, I have no screen but it is still on? I can access files on my computer, contacts are OK as they are in my sim, all I want to get a copy of are my texts but most importantly my calender so that I can at least access my info?
My friend dropped my handbag into the sea a week ago.My blackberry curve got wet but not soaked. Ive dried it out as best I can, but it still wont switch on.I havent backed it up in over 4 months! Im gutted that all my information may be gone for good..Is there anywhere I can send the phone to get it booted up for just long enough to retrieve my information? I dont mind paying for the service, as long as I get all my info back.
Where/how can I in Symbian s60rd3 disable info about calendar and meetings/events when phone is locked (device - not keypad)? For example in nokia E66 synchronized with exchange. I have on screen, when I lock device, info about meetings and other events. Exist app or function in my nokia with this?
I'm trying to backup my I-phone contacts and calendar to the "Cloud"I use Outlook on a PC and my phone has all the relevant data; however, when I log into www.icloud.com and my account, there are no addresses or calendar listings? I thought my phone was backing all this data up to the Cloud on a daily basis, what am I doing wrong? What is the procedure for getting the calendar and contact information from my phone to the cloud?
I need to do an OS repair on the new 2.3 update because I keep getting that "android.process.media" error but before I do I would like to save my calendar events so I don't have to re-enter everything manually.. I tried the Sony Ericsson dashboard sync but I can't seem to figure it out.. since my phone is able to pull calendar events from my Google account, Facebook account and SE account isn't there any way to do the opposite (send events from my phone to the Google, SE or Facebook calendars [and then back again after the update])?
had BB for 3 weeks now and gettign more and more confused unfortunately All I want to know is how I can, once in a while make a backup of my contacts and calendar an my desktop.
I emailed before and used 'synchronising' as a term,b ut am now wondering as seems more confusing with email needed etc.I used to have Palm Pilot with which you just connected to the cable, pressed a button and everything was in line on desktop and visible. Here, wehn i tried backup, it was in a program my desktop couldn't read, and the syncornising document I have received is even worse, not only does it not seem to work, but from the comments form others it seems a mess.
I didn't expect this to be such a big issue and am gettign reallt frustrated
I have two emails on my phone that I set up through the Blackberry website. My calendar has always defaulted to the first email. If I remove that email I fear my calendar will be empty except for the fact that it is saved on GMAIL. if I do remove the the first email and loose the calendar will the calendar be replaced on my next Sync with GMAIL?
Is it possible to somehow acces the calendar entries that are saved in a N8 backup file created by the Nokia Suite (v3.6.36), without restoring the backup to the N8 device? The background story:My N8 currently is not working, I have to take it to the service point. Now because I'm synchronizing my main calendar on the N8 with Microsoft Exchange, the Nokia Suite Calendar sync is off. But I had other calendars on my N8 (not synchronized with Exchange) and I'd like to access my calendar entries from there. I've made frequent backups of the whole calendar entries with Nokia Suite, so I hope I can somehow at least read my calendar entries from there.
I lost my blackberry curve and am using the exact same one my sister let me barrow. How do I transfer the contacts and calendar items from my backup on my computer to the new blackberry?
I updated from 7.0 to 7.1 and just noticed that a number of my calendar entries are missing.I'm not entirely sure when this happened.I don't think it happened at the time of updating to the new OS but it's possible.I received an "out of application memory" error message a week ago and have read that people have encountered a loss of data with such an error.I did a backup of my data on May 17th before upgrading to 7.1 calendar entries = 800, today calendar entries = 369.Since I use my device on a BES all entries associated with the BES account appear to be intact but I've lost all other entries. When I went to restore the calendar entries only from the backup it is greyed out indicating that these are "read only data types and cannot be restored" when selecting "Select Data to Restore/Select device data and settings" as opposed to "All device data and settings".Unsure how to proceed - clearly the data is present in the backup based on the entry value do I need to do a full restore and rollback to 7.0? in order to recover the calendar entries??
Cant understand why the backup to PC of vital Lumia phone information such as contacts, calendar and messges can not be easily and quickly achieved as with the Nokia suite and N8. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.
I have updated my iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 and I can't restore my backup files because when I try to restore my backup iTunes shows that the backup is corrupted or not compatible with the iPhone
