i just want to confirm that i got this right, because no one seems to be mentioning this. I have an iPhone 3g and there doesn't seem to be any app file sharing in itunes. Is this feature only for the iphone 4 and 3gs. Can someone please confirm or deny this, cause i need to know because im sick and tired of transferring my pdfs via wifi.

Long time LG G2 user that just picked up a refurb S5 yesterday.On my G2, if I wanted to transfer files quickly between my laptop (PC) and phone, I could just connect the 2 via a built-in wifi file sharing app. I don't see something similar for the S5. Any quick/easy/free way to connect my phone to my laptop via wifi? Would prefer not to have to hook up my USB cord every time I need to do a file transfer.

Both my husband and I just got IPhones on friday. My question is this. I have a mobileme and both of our macbooks are hooked up to my itunes account and I set up both IPhones like this as well. It didn't make sense to me to bother with new one since the $$ comes from the same bank account. So I would like to know if there is a way to share our paid applications? For example a few gaming apps that allow us to play together on our WiFi, but of course I only want to buy them once if at all possible. Any other couples sharing an itunes account (on 2 separate macs and iphones) figured this out?

I just got this new cell phone for job calls and obviously it's been used by a colleague for some time as there are passwords set on the device. It used to work just fine last week but during the weekend I forgot to plug it and so the battery died and the Iphone turned off for the first time since I got ahold of it.Sunday morning I charged it and when I tried to check for my mails, it asked me for a passcode. I tried all the numeral codes I remembered and even birthdates without success. It gave me the 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes,.... 60 minutes thing and obviously I was locked out of my phone sometime.Â
I do not have an internet access at home so I could not synchronize before today. I looked on forums and read some tips about the restoring thing. I turned it off...I restarted it pushing the power and main buttons at the same time...I logged on Itunes and have a decent internet connection
I followed the instructions and waited for the restoring to complete and then it synchronized by itself...I check my phone and nothing had changed... still asks for the code..I turned it off...I restarted it holding the 2 buttons, I left the main button pushed down longer that time (maybe that was my first mistake?)I'm still stuck with the device asking for the code!Â

I followed several sets of instructions for converting a file to m4r, but I can't get a simple boring ringtone onto my iPhone 4S running ios 5.0.1.
The reason I'm trying to do this is to have just a simple, boring ringtone. I'm going to be in a professional environment, and all of the ringtones IMO, are a bit too wacky.
I try to drag and drop the m4r file to the Tones folder in iTunes - it works, but when I sync the phone, the stubburn tone will not appear in the Tones folder on the actual phone.

I deleted the backup file while trying to update to 5.1.1. My phone wouldn't update and I read that I needed to delete the previous backup (bad idea). Well after I updated OS I can't backup to get my previous files and contacts. This is horrible and I am lost at this point on what to do. And I haven't been using iCloud.

The iPhone died and without it, I can't figure out how to get the contacts to sync. Is it possible to plug in an ipod to get it to work? I've setup homesharing as every guide I have ever read says to. However the step where I go to more tab on the music app on my phone, there is no shared option. I've turned the phone off and on, made sure the app was closed properly, and nothing.
Do I need to set up a library to share first? All the videos seemed to have a library in the shared tab in itunes. I can't find a way to do this, as the sharing options in preferences just say either share selected playlists, or my entire library.

Ok I know how to do Internet Sharing to create a mini network from my MBP osx 10.6 that my iPhone 4 can use, but only when my MBP is connected to the internet via ethernet.
How can I do this when my MBP is connected wirelessly?
