I have tried multiple times but it just shows the same screen on my phone, with itunes, the arrow, and the usb cord. My computer when I try to restore the iphone says the iphone cannot be restored. the iphone was not found.

In DM (V4.6) when I go to Backup/Restore > Advanced my contacts are not found at all. My Calendar is there, SMS messages, etc, but my contacts simply don't appear at all. Any thoughts on why they are not showing up and how I can get them to be visible there?I would like to be able to choose them, among other individual db's for backup.

Did it, everything set up fine. Restored through iTunes and then turned on. I still had my email, texts, call logs, contacts and notes. But all my apps and songs are gone. How do i get them back?

I'm planning to restore my iPhone while updating to iOS 4 since I've bee using the same old backup for 3 years or so now, installed a bunch of thing etc... so I want to start from scratch.
The only thing I don't want to lose are my SMS.I also don't want to jailbreak my iPhone.
What are the solution to backup only my SMS (so not regular iTunes backup) and then restore that only to my freshly installed iOS4?
I inadvertently backed up my iPod Touch 3G which ended up being a blessing because it actually died due to water damage. When I get my new iP4 I want to restore from that iPod Touch backup because it has many apps I use for studying including the settings which I definitely need. Is there a way to restore just the apps? How would/could I restore at least the one app with data that I really need?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally updated my iPhone to 5.1. I waited so long because of the fiasco updating my iPod Touch when 5.0 first came out. I thought it worked, I was pleased Apple worked out the bugs. Lo and behold, all of my apps and folders disappeared before my eyes. No problem I thought, I did a back up. Restore from back up. Fifteen minutes later, it looks exactly the same. Isn't a backup supposed to be of everything on the system so that if something goes wrong, you just revert back to the back up and either try again or wait for the process to be fixed? Seriously, get your stuff together.

I found a small bug in the new OS 5.1.1. At its iPhone 4S I do not use 3G. In the setting of 3G is set to off. EDGE in settings off.
The problem with using 2G. Sometimes when you turn EDGE the icon "E" don't appear and data transfer is not working!
If you turn on and off 3G and then everything starts to work. This don't happen always, but often! Usually after you move around the city.

I have been using my iPhone 4 as an iPod for a while because I'm waiting for AT&T to unlock it. I wanted to restore my phone to backup in my computer, but the restore button only restored my phone to factory settings, and it now tells me to activate the phone but I don't have the original SIM. So when I click my contacts icon on the iphone a bunch of my contacts are missing. If I use the search function, the page to the left of the home screen, i can find contacts I've added and ones I'm looking for, but they dont show up under contacts. There're obviously on the phone somewhere, but I dont know where. O and if I add a contact via the contact icon, push the little green plus sign, and add it manually it will show up under the contacts, but if i try and save something from resent calls or maps and say add to contacts, new contact, it doesn't show up. Also if I add a contact to outlook and sink, it wont show up either. Thanks and hopefully this is pretty clear.

Even if I select a different bookmark it goes right to the page but if I stay on that page too long while browsing I will get the message again and then I have to quite or go to a different page and come back in order to get past Safari cannot find server.

today i tried to contact AT&T for their unlock requirements but I had a strange surprise: My IMEI was not listed in their system. At live chat they told me that my e-mail would be send to Apple to check what is happening, but still nothing happend (don't know if such promise was made or not).I bought this iphone in eBay and it is supposed to be locked to AT&T (saw it on box and model). My wife's 4s claims to have 5.0 GB of storage consumed by photos although the photos cannot be accessed from the phone or from a PC. This happened after having a broken screen replaced although I do not see how the two are related. The company that replaced the screen (CPR) said "tough luck". The phone's usage says the photos are there but as you can see the photos are clearly not. I am assuming they are on the hard drive but the file path is interrupted somehow. We have already accepted the fact that photos of our family are lost but is there a way to regain the storage or by some miracle retrieve the photos.Â

I have a new iphone 3gs. Just got it yesterday. I hooked it up to Itunes and it connected. But gave me some errors that it couldn't sync due to required file not found. I unplugged the iphone and restarted the PC. Plugged it back in and then it gave an error. It cannot read the contents of the iphone go to the summary page and do a restore. I did a full restore and put it back to factory settings. Plugged it in and Itunes saw it but again would not sync due to file not found or other errors. Unplugged it and back in and now it again says it cannot read the contents of the iphone and I need to do a restore. I tried 2 other computers it says the same thing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently bought an iphone 4s, but I'm having trouble synching my itunes to my iphone. It seems to synch for a few moments, the top of my itunes tells me that it's synching 'step 2 of 5' for example, but it never completes it, and my music never appears on my iphone.
It says that the iphone could not be synched because the required disk could not be found. Itunes is not the default player for audio files, could this have something to do with it?
