All of the sudden whenever I update or download a new app the icon becomes smaller than normal.I tried searching the forums and doing a google search but could not find any answers.Hopefully someone can help me out.Fyi the last thing I did was install a theme when this started happening, I tried removing the theme and restarting but I still have the small icons.
Was in Wal Mart in my small nc town and asked guy at counter about their iPhone plans for Thursday. He asked me if I wanted to look at one. Of course I did and it was beautiful. I'm sure I'll be called a liar and a heretic for not taking a picture but I didn't think about it.All it did was make it harder to wait til Thursday now. But fedex shows mine in Alaska in transit so it's on the way.
Okay I don't know how else to word this without sounding silly so I'll just bite the bullet.
Back in the day and even when you see people using iPhones on television or in movies; the photos that come up for your contacts are big, recognizable from a distance.
This seems to have never been the case since I joined the iPhone family during the release of iOS4. Is there something I can do to create/restore that functionality or are we stuck with tiny pictures in the corner?
i just restored backup from my mac to iPhone and i can't see any small preview in Photo album (thumbnails). Is there a way to create those small preview images on iPhone (with some app or anyhow)?
A small pixel in my iphone 4s is not working and i know its not a big deal but when i watch a video i can see it ight at the top and it anoys me. Is it worth asking apple for a new iPhone?
Why is everybody talking so highly about iphone 4S when basic business functionality is missing? This is ridiculous! Unfortunately, I took the bait only to find that some things that I took for granted on my Blackberry 9700 are missing and I'm helpless now No Call History prior to yesterday (God knows how many entries and why the limitation when the iphone 4S is supposedly superior and has higher memory?)No means to save the contact info of the person while on the call with them on handsfree, why???Does not display Company Name when I receive an incoming calll from say, John Smith, which one??? John Smith working for Company A or B???NO Call Notes feature? Why?
I dont remember when the incoming call picture became so small, but I have noticed that on my iPhone 5S that is running software 7.1.1 is a little circle. I liked it much better when the incoming call photo took up the whole screen. Any setting that I can change, or is it a software update issue?
i dunno if this has been posted on here but supposedly gizmodo got their hands on a 4g i phone prototype that was disguised in a special case made to look like a 3gs.
Was reading another thread, and I have to assume Apple wanted to use a more durable shell to avoid the huge amount of complaints they received about cracks showing in the previous 2 phone models.I saw on Apple's site that the glass is "bendable" so this should help stress fractures from showing up.Any comments or more info on this subject from anyone?
I'm an engineer, and a collegue of mine has a friend (tedious link I know!) who works for a mobile phone manufacturer as an engineer. His take on the whole atenna issue is the following:
1. Sticking your hand over the join between the atennae short circuits them (we all knew this!)
2. The short circuit causes the two small antennae to form one much larger one (obvious I know...bear with me!)
3. This larger antenna has a different frequency to the small one.
4. The phone detects this and switches between frequencies.
Sounds simple in practice, but apparently it takes an age for the software to switch between the two frequencies. My guess would be this is to prevent the phone from hunting between signals. This could indeed be what Apple were talking about when they mentioned that the new phone placed lower demands on the network.
For the sake of making things easy to understand, have a read through the two artciles on Wikipedia and HowStuffWorks:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_site
[url]
Basically, a Cell Tower has a finite number of frequencies it can use and assigns your phone to one of these frequencies. As you move around however, you'll be assigned different frequencies on different towers depending on what's available. As you can imagine, if a phone is super sensitive to variations in signal quality, it can reach a point where it jumps continuously between cell towers, placing high demand on all the switching hardware in the network. In reality, the user wouldn't notice any change in call quality if it stayed on one tower. By placing a delay in the frequency switching on the phone, your call will no longer be shuffled around towers constantly and will instead stick to one cell tower for longer, reducing the amount of juggling the network servers have to do and hence reducing dropped calls.
Here in lies the problem. When you change the length of the antenna on the phone, you cut out it's ability to see one segment of frequencies. The phone then starts looking for another available frequency. This now takes forever. Although the frequency may well be avaible, by the time it's found it, the call has been dropped as the slightly weaking signal it is expecting as you move away from the original tower has completely dissapeared.
The design of the antenna is undoubtably a fundamental design issue, which has somehow been overlooked or ignored. Let's not get into the politics of that here. What this does highlight however is that, if the delay between frequency switching is removed, reduced or in some way made smarter, the switch will be so quick, it won't have any noticeable effect on your call as it will just be another frequency switch similar to that between a towers.
Earlier today I was able to unlock the screen but the passcode screen was shrunk to the bottom left corner and I was left unable to enter the numbers for the passcode.
I have tried multiple times but it just shows the same screen on my phone, with itunes, the arrow, and the usb cord. My computer when I try to restore the iphone says the iphone cannot be restored. the iphone was not found.
I have reinstalled iTunes from scratch(uninstalled all Apple stuff first), but no matter what I try iTunes will not find my iPhone to sync...I have rebboted everything and tried all readily available Apple tips
Before couple monthes i have bought iphone 4 from Dubai and I didnt find fasetime app on this Iphone and now im in syria and i have updated this iphone to 5.1.1 and till now facetime not appeare Ihave seen on some discussions some countries like UAE dont allow facetime but ihave to ask why apple website UAE (www.apple.com/ae) but facetime on this website?
Just noticed that when look at Calendar icon located inside a folder the date is 1 day behind. Today it shows the 2ed. When I click on the folder and the Calendar icon goes to full size it shows the 3rd and still the 2nd on the small view icon. At first I thought the in folder icon just showed a fixed number (like the weather app) but it changes each day and is always behind.
When I go on eBay and I go to the first page on items I'm watching the writing is fine as soon as I go onto the second page everything goes so small I carnt see the writing at all it just goes really small I've tried enlarging it but it's still stays small
