May 23, 2012When an alarm goes off using the default clock / alarm app and the phone is locked, all I get is the option to Snooze. The only way to actually dismiss the alarm so that it does not go off again is to unlock the phone while the alarm is going off.
Is there a way - either by pressing a button on the phone or getting a dismiss button next to the snooze button - to dismiss an alarm in the lock screen without having to unlock the phone? I know if the phone is unlocked, the alert will give me the option of either "Snooze" or "Ok," but I don't get that same option in lock mode.

Jun 7, 2010Hi Gurus...Here is some back ground before I ask you for your help. First, I'm an iPhone novice . My wife has this iPhone 3G. She recently forgot her password. So, the only way to get the iPhone was to restore it. But the PC which has the backup was recently reinstalled and the backup was gone. The new version of iTunes was installed on this PC and when she restored it, it installed 3.1.3 firmware. Now, after the bootup, we get the Earth screen and the slider to unlock. But when I slide the slider, I get this "Edit Home screen" message with a "Dismiss" button. But this screen is not going away when I press the Dismiss button. I can see the Apps in the backgound, but the Edit home screen message is not going away. I tried to downgrade to 3.1.2, but I got the Error 1015 during the restore process.

May 31, 2010I had to make an emergency call using my N82. I did not know my exact location so I tried to use GPS while calling. The GPS was not working but there was an error messge like "No GPS signal, you should go outside" or something like that.I was already outside and waited about 10 mins for GPS to get a fix (typically the a-GPS find the location in seconds). It did not get a fix at all and I ended the emergency call. Immediately after that the GPS started to work. So I called to the emergency number (112) once again. But he GPS location was lost when I called and worked again when I ended the call. So it seems that the GPS of the phone is not working while doing an emergency call!
I just wanted to inform everybody that in case of emergency, don't waste your time trying to get a GPS fix while making an emergency call.Anyone knows if this is a known limitation or a bug?

My phone out of no where went into 1xev and will not go back to 1XEV. Sprint said it is a device issue and i need to have the device replaced. I told them i do not want a refurb since my previous device had to be replaced 4 times (8350i). He said he would see what was in stock, he then told me that he could not replace the device at all since my previous device was replaced so many times. He referred me to "multiple device replacement team" who said I had had to many replacements and that he couldnt even replace the device. He said I need to go to a service/repair center so they can see the phone.
Has anyone had the same issues with the 1XEV dropping to 1xev and not coming back? My service books will not send, my HRT message will not come, (it does say sent, but I never receive the actual registration message), I cannot update profile or preferred network list (says unable to update, if problem persist contact service provider).
2 days in a row, prior to this, every time I tried to call out, my phone would make a busy signal and say "CALL FAILED: PLEASE TRY AGAIN" and when my wife tried to call, it went straight to voicemail.
Now, I am making calls ok and receiving text just not BIS data: (Internet,BBM,PIN,Email)
FYI: I have not made any software updates or anything receent. I am running 5.0.0.624. Have been since May.
Any suggestions on what may have caused this and if there are any suggestions tech support left out?
Also, I really dont want a refurb, how can I get a new device as opposed to a refurb? I have had this device since Dec. 28 or 29 and have had no issues with the device. I dont want to use my upgrade since I havent had this phone a year and would like to save that for when a better device hits the stores.

Mar 22, 2012I have gotten three very irate calls from someone who's called ID is from Ohio. He said my phone has called him over 40 times today. I have no idea who this person is, and my call list shows no outgoing calls from anyone outside my contact list.
What's going on here? Is it possible someone has "hijacked" my number and is spam calling people from somewhere else in the country? It apparently is my number that keeps calling him (he called me back, so he obviously has my number) but my call list shows nothing.

The problem is, I an in San Jose, CA. I know this is not the end of the world, but i would like to be able to fix it. My brother got his iPhone at the same time, but his location is correct. Also, i checked my map app, and it pinpointed my location correctly. My only problem is that it says im calling from a different location.

Apr 23, 2012Since last week, my speaker of the black iPhone 4 is realy silent while calling. I set the volume to max, tried a restore, but nothing worked.I also cleaned de speaker carefully to get every little dust grain out. but still I only hear a realy low voice while calling.The speakerphone and the headset work fine.So I think the speaker has to be changed. My warranty ran out on february so I think I have to pay for repair.
