I am getting annoyed by the volume notification that says "Listening to music on high volume for long periods of time might be harmful" etc., sometimes I'm out running and I try to turn up the volume, it'll vibrate and block it, so I'm forced to pull out my phone and dismiss the freaking notification.
I tried searching for it in the settings, nothing came up as a toggle switch off.
Had this same problem on the S4. Whenever I open the Google Music app, for example, and then turn up the volume using the volume rocker, that annoying warning that says "Listening at high volume can cause hearing damage..." or whatever pops up, and you have to hit OK to dismiss it. On the S5 that warning even seems to pop up more often. I never figured out how to disable it on my S4, which was running an older version of Android, nor do I know how to disable it on my S5 running Kit Kat 4.2.2.
had new phone a couple of weeks very nice but cant hear message alert tone at full volume when its in my pocket and no symbol on screen when screen locked.
A small but extremely useful feature I had on my Nexus 4, which allowed for you to dismiss an upcoming alarm from the notifications bar. It seems to be missing from the S5.
First time I've gotten this alert. Not rooted. Was in dock all night.Pulled it out of dock and within moments I got an alert I've not seen before, in the status bar.I went to the task manager to see what it was all about and the OS was using 54% of the CPU.Moments later it jumped to 80+ percent. It kept moving between 50-ish and 80+ from moment to moment.I ended up shutting the phone off and restarting it.After doing that, no more alerts, but the first time I checked the OS following the restart, it was at 27%.Basically, it's now using a minimum of 16% and sometimes more than 25%, but never more than roughly 30%.IS THAT NORMAL?oh, and as a test, I put it back in the dock for a moment or two, took it out, and no "high CPU usage" alerts.
This seems like it might be useful for most people: I want my ringer volume low when still or at home etc, and High when on the move. (I don't drive) Any Apps do this? Can it be done by writing my own App?

When i turn up the volume to high (when it goes red on the volumebar on screen) i cannot turn it down again via volume buttons.
I can turn up to maximum and turn down to where the red level begins, but i cannot turn down below the red line. Between, if i use the volume settings on screen, theres no problems.
If i turn down below high settings i can adjust via buttons fine but as soon as i get up to high again it wont turn down via buttons. Its the same with buttons on phone and on headset. I have done a full reinstall of iphone with no change to the problem.
Having issue with the audio cutting out when the volume is up high when using headphones? For example, during a phone call, if things get loud, the audio will start popping.
When I am calling or getting called my phone automatically turns up/down the volume till maximum. Means, when I try to turn down the volume a little it automatically keeps on turning down till minimum (and the way arround). Even if I don't change the volume it automatically turns up.
When the phone reaches maximum volume it always 'beeps'.
I just got the 5s and when placing or receiving a call, the sound is very low. I can barley hear the person on the other end. if I switch it to the speaker I have no problems hearing them. All other sounds, music and tones play fine and I've checked the volume button on the side and the sounds button under settings, everything is turned up to high. Is there any other place on the phone or settings to go to?
As the title says, I am looking for a way to change the text alert (for when someone sends you a page), both volume and actual sound used, using an app or smart actions (in much the same way you can change the ringer using smart actions).Unlike most people I want it to get really loud and anoying at night (when I am likly asleep) so it will wake me up.I am also looking for a way to alarm/chip/alert/notify again if I have unheard messages or unviewed pages. Right now there is this blinking LED on the front. That is nice, but it won't wake me up or let me know if I went to the other room for a sec.
Since using ICS on my RazrMaxx When checking email it takes forever (ok 4-8 minutes) to connect and check the mail. It is a gmail based email set up under messaging. Battery Life has dropped dramatically. No universal volume controls for messaging and calls (For example if I want to adjust my phone ringtone to be very soft by using the rocker switch on the side it now only controls just the phone ringer. Messaging would still be at the volume you have the settings at. Previously the rocker switch controlled all volume.)
I just bought a new s6 64gb. And now i open the storage and see the system memory taking up 38.79gb. Thats over half the phones storage. Is that normal? I understand that a portion of the storage is for the os, but that just seems outrageously high.
For soke reason, ony galaxy s6, there is a constant high CPU usage, out of 2.5gb that's free I usually have about 600mb to play with, meaning the phone becomes sluggish at times.
Is there a way to dismiss the heads up notifications on the One M9 without having to swipe away the notification and getting rid of it from the pull down tray? Its like...i don't want to deal with the notification now, i want to deal with it later after i'm done with whatever it is i am doing. I remember reading somewhere that google made a fix for this. Was this in 5.1?
Just switched from Note 4 to S6. So problem is i have some great high-res wallpapers and when i set it as wallpaper it's not showing in high quality, I didn't had that problem on Note.
When i look at the same image in gallery it's stunning, but when it's set up as a wallpaper its not that sharp as it should be. Same probelm in TW and in Nova Launcher.
This is how it looks in gallery. Sharp and no problems. [URL] .....
This is how it looks as wallpaper, blurred and not sharp. Notice red eye sharpness. Not that visible on PC but problem is there. [URL] ....
I've noticed in my battery consumption usage chart that the "Verizon caller name ID" consumption is about 13% even after I force stopped it and turned it off. I don't understand why it is still showing as using the battery as I turned it off already? But on top of that I cannot delete the app from my phone either.
Last night I put my galaxy 6s into battery save mode, charged it to 99% and put it on the nightstand. This morning (8 hours later) my phone is at 48% charge. Do I have a bad battery or is there a setting or application on that is draining the battery? Battery shows 46% battery usage by cell phone.
I come from a GS to a GSII.The image on the screen of the GSII seems to contrasted. All the photos that on the GS are ok, on the GSII are to dark. For the icons is ok, but the pictures do not look real on the GSII.Also there's a pink area in the center of the images taken on the GSII.I've checked this in some stores, and they all look the same.Is there a way to decrease the contrast on the screen?
i bought a galaxy s2 2 days ago and was blown away with it's performance....however the phone's battery consumption is very high i charged it to 100% at 2 p.m and it was down to 23% by 9 p.m...the battery life shows dat the screen is consuming abt 50% of the total charge and it is on for only 2.5 hrs...other proccesses (phone os,wifi..etc) are using quite less....however when left the phone for the night the consumption was abt 1%(used battery meter app)..
I believe the on-screen message was close to the title example. Anyway, after draining the battery to around 25% (last used apps were instagram, snapchat, clash of clans, and nlf mobile) I plugged in to the charger that originally came with the S6. Within a minute I heard the "low-battery, please recharge" sound and saw the "Battery temperature is too high and will not charge" message. Then after doing the attempts below trying to troubleshoot, my phone is currently at 0% and unable to charge. The charger plug isn't even recognized without awkward positioning. The charger plug (and phone battery to a lesser extent) did often become hot when charging, but I never thought anything of it, as it seemed like a known/common occurrence among GS6 owners.
1. First reaction: unplug charger, use Advanced Task Killer, then wait couple minutes before plugging back in. 2. Soft reset through power button and Restart option. 3. Tried moving original charger to different wall outlets/power strips and using my old charger that originally came with a GS3. 4. Reboot to Bios screen (I think thats what its called), cleared cache, and restart. 5. Factory reset from Settings->Backup option
After the factory reset, the battery hit 0% during the initial set up. Strangely, when I tilt the charger plug upwards (slight downward angle going into port), the phone reacts as if recognizing a charger is plugged. This angle wasn't necessary prior to the "breaking," but by maintaining the angle I can keep the phone on while it goes through the initial startup (until it tries to find a network or search for updates, then turns off). I wanted to see if there were any possible ways of saving this phone.
