View 3 RepliesOn my old Note 3 it had a separate volume for the phone ringer and a separate volume for the notification tones, like my text messages. I have noticed on my Nexus 6P that it seems the ringer and notification volume controls are the same. I use to turn my text message volume almost completely off at night and leave my phone ringer turned up some. But I have not been able to do that on the Nexus 6P. Am I missing something or are these two volumes on the same control? I am rooted and running Pure Nexus. I need separate volumes controls for them.

Let's say I have my ringer set to 5/10 (in terms of loudness) and I recently watched a video at 9/10 loudness.Â
It seems that no matter what I set my ringer to with the volume buttons, the notifications are using that 9/10 volume level instead of the ringer volume level.Â
I've turned the phone off and back on but that doesn't fix the problem. Not sure how to replicate this problem, as not always does it present itself.Â
One obvious workaround would be to watch a video (or perhaps play music) and lower that volume level, but that's just ghetto for such an expensive device that's supposed to just work.
SMS tone volume is set on high but still no sound when SMS arrives. I have to look at display constantly. Which settings should be changed how?

How do I set my phone to be on vibrate for the ringer and to have sound with notifications.
I am getting annoyed by the volume notification that says "Listening to music on high volume for long periods of time might be harmful" etc., sometimes I'm out running and I try to turn up the volume, it'll vibrate and block it, so I'm forced to pull out my phone and dismiss the freaking notification.
I tried searching for it in the settings, nothing came up as a toggle switch off.
had new phone a couple of weeks very nice but cant hear message alert tone at full volume when its in my pocket and no symbol on screen when screen locked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery app I have that requires volume to listen works fine. But when I close the app, my ringer volume level is still in app mode volume. The app volume completely takes over my ringer volume level although in settings it never really changed. In order for me to get my ringer volume back to it's set volume, I have to go into settings and move the volume up or down. Then and only then do I have control over the ringer volume with the buttons on the side of the phone.

I am on my 4th 9650 ( Sprint ) Bold phone in 2 weeks .. for some reason or another the ringer tones are lower then the Curve I had prior to this. All 4 phones have had low volume in all the ringer modes and alert modes including BB messenger. I have tried everything possible to raise the volume with no luck. Sprint tells me this is as good as it gets and even the Sprint store demo phone was the same. I have the main ringer on loud and all the volumes modes for each ringer are on number 10. I had a Black Berry Curve Nextel push to talk before this and the ringer tones were a lot louder. This is driving me nuts as I have missed calls. I have tried at least 10 different tones and they all are not what I would call loud. Can some one help me out here?

Prior to updating to Lollipop I was able to easily adjust notification volume by simply touching the volume control on side of phone, then selecting the cog next to ringtone volume. That disappeared with Lollipop update. Is there any way to adjust notification volume other than going all the way to settings?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed recently that my X10 just vibrates on incoming calls even if volme is full out, but yet my text message tone is audible. Apple finally got around to fixing the drop call / no call volume problem with the 4s via iOS 4.1. Now, after fixing that problem, the volume spontaneously turns itself down. Sometimes I can't get rid of the volume icon.

The in-call and ringer volume on X10 is way too low, I can hardly hear the other party on a call at a shopping centre or food court. This is very frustrating as making a phone call is the most basic function of a phone but X10 fail in this aspect badly. I am sure a firmware upgrade can increase the volume on X10, its just a matter of whether SE will implement it....can everyone who had low in-call and ringer volume problem of your X10 report here?

I've noticed today only ( I purchased the phone around the end of February 2014 new direct from Apple) that the ringer volume is going from mute to regular volume setting I have it on by itself. It erratically changes from mute to volume to mute and back again flashing on the screen like its possessed, when its just sitting there...not being touched at all...

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the lollipop update, even with my ringer volume at the loudest, when someone calls, it is really low and then eventually becomes louder. it never did this before the update.
how can i make it so the volume of the ringer is constant?
i thought maybe there was a setting that i need to check / uncheck but didn't find one.
My Icon drops the ringer volume for some reason. I can set it up to say... 20 or so, and next time I check it, it's back at 13. Very inconvenient as it's in my purse which muffles the sound.
Verizon replaced my first Icon because they thought it was a hardware problem, but this second phone does it too. I still have WP 8.0. I do not get the little down arrow to expand the volume bar . Mine just switches from ring + vibrate to just vibrate. I understand the little down arrow on the volume bar will come with 8.1. Is there anything I can do now to keep my volume up? Verizon mentioned some update that they tried to install, but apparently that wasn't the solution. Is this a common problem with this phone.
