Every app I have that requires volume to listen works fine. But when I close the app, my ringer volume level is still in app mode volume. The app volume completely takes over my ringer volume level although in settings it never really changed. In order for me to get my ringer volume back to it's set volume, I have to go into settings and move the volume up or down. Then and only then do I have control over the ringer volume with the buttons on the side of the phone.
Apple finally got around to fixing the drop call / no call volume problem with the 4s via iOS 4.1. Now, after fixing that problem, the volume spontaneously turns itself down. Sometimes I can't get rid of the volume icon.
This seems like it might be useful for most people: I want my ringer volume low when still or at home etc, and High when on the move. (I don't drive) Any Apps do this? Can it be done by writing my own App?

Is there an app that can control the ringer volume by the time of day. Like say i had work. Is there an app that can automaticly change the ringer volume on certain days at times you input to lower the ringer volume?
I've noticed today only ( I purchased the phone around the end of February 2014 new direct from Apple) that the ringer volume is going from mute to regular volume setting I have it on by itself. It erratically changes from mute to volume to mute and back again flashing on the screen like its possessed, when its just sitting there...not being touched at all...
When I receive a call and phone rings, ringer volume shows on screen and it is reduced by itself to the minimum in a second). Is this behavior due to specific settings?
My iPhone 4S has been constantly displaying the ringer volume since this morning. I have tried turning off my phone and turning it back on, resetting my phone, syncing it to iTunes, and pretty much everything else. Everything is functioning correctly, and I'm able to navigate my phone normally, but it's an inconvenience to have to try to look at the things on my screen through the ringer volume notification.
Why it's not possible to adjust the ringer volume at the lock screen? Even though it's possible to adjust the volume during music playback and responses from Siri, etc.Â
There are a number of times during the day that I just want to be able to quickly pick-up the phone and adjust the ringer volume. If there was a profile app available in the app store that allowed me to automatically set different volume levels at different times of the day it would be great - particularly if the app didn't require me to jailbreak the phone.Â
What is the reasoning behind it? I heard someone suggest once that it's intended to protect against the volume buttons being accidentally pressed if the phone is inside an enclosed space, i.e. handbag or pocket, but I've never personally experienced this when jogging with the phone in my pocket while listening to music on my headphones. And if it's for security reasons, then why is anyone able to switch my phone into silent mode?Â
Let's say I have my ringer set to 5/10 (in terms of loudness) and I recently watched a video at 9/10 loudness.Â
It seems that no matter what I set my ringer to with the volume buttons, the notifications are using that 9/10 volume level instead of the ringer volume level.Â
I've turned the phone off and back on but that doesn't fix the problem. Not sure how to replicate this problem, as not always does it present itself.Â
One obvious workaround would be to watch a video (or perhaps play music) and lower that volume level, but that's just ghetto for such an expensive device that's supposed to just work.
I noticed recently that my X10 just vibrates on incoming calls even if volme is full out, but yet my text message tone is audible. I also noticed that sometimes the ringer volume is fully silent even if I havent adjusted it. I did do a software repair & it rang for just a few times after that but Im back square one!
The in-call and ringer volume on X10 is way too low, I can hardly hear the other party on a call at a shopping centre or food court. This is very frustrating as making a phone call is the most basic function of a phone but X10 fail in this aspect badly. I am sure a firmware upgrade can increase the volume on X10, its just a matter of whether SE will implement it....can everyone who had low in-call and ringer volume problem of your X10 report here?
I recieved my Torch on friday an i noticed the volume on the ringer an Music Is low? Is it a hardware problem or software? then if i push the Mini usb up while its charging it kind of clicks out the phone i dont know if anyone else has these problems but looking for a solution.
On my old Note 3 it had a separate volume for the phone ringer and a separate volume for the notification tones, like my text messages. I have noticed on my Nexus 6P that it seems the ringer and notification volume controls are the same. I use to turn my text message volume almost completely off at night and leave my phone ringer turned up some. But I have not been able to do that on the Nexus 6P. Am I missing something or are these two volumes on the same control? I am rooted and running Pure Nexus. I need separate volumes controls for them.
Does anyone know if there is a really quick way of adjusting the ringer volume on the n900 without having to go into profiles. I thought there might be a shortcut key or something.
Since the lollipop update, even with my ringer volume at the loudest, when someone calls, it is really low and then eventually becomes louder. it never did this before the update.
how can i make it so the volume of the ringer is constant?
i thought maybe there was a setting that i need to check / uncheck but didn't find one.
My Icon drops the ringer volume for some reason. I can set it up to say... 20 or so, and next time I check it, it's back at 13. Very inconvenient as it's in my purse which muffles the sound.
Verizon replaced my first Icon because they thought it was a hardware problem, but this second phone does it too. I still have WP 8.0. I do not get the little down arrow to expand the volume bar . Mine just switches from ring + vibrate to just vibrate. I understand the little down arrow on the volume bar will come with 8.1. Is there anything I can do now to keep my volume up? Verizon mentioned some update that they tried to install, but apparently that wasn't the solution. Is this a common problem with this phone.
I just spent an hour and a half talking with support through chat and level 2 support through Motorola's call center. The most recent update mentions that you've "Added Support to control Notification Volume along with Ringer Volume". I had assumed that this had fixed my problem that I had with this application, but was greatly confused when it didn't.I want an action to adjust my Ringer Volume and an action to adjust my Notification Volume. I want them to be separate settings, not combined. I have read multiple threads posted previously in this forum from people complaining that they need to have the volume of their notifications all the way up, or their ringer volume up while they are sleeping for work.As a Systems Administrator I want to be able to sleep at night. I don't want to hear pinging from people emailing me at 4 AM. I work for a company that has associates all over the world, so this happens regularly. I do however NEED to have my ringer volume up in case our equipment has issues at our DC.
I understand that you want to keep the application streamlined and as simple as possible, but it really will not cause confusion to have the same volume sliders that Android has within settings. It does not seem like it would be that difficult to add the 4 volume sliders for Media, Ringtone, Notifications, and Alarms. It would actually make MUCH more sense to users than it does now. (Especially considering I spent an hour and a half on the phone with support over a poorly worded update description)
Never had a problem until last night when the ringer volume began to automatically increases on its own.If I turn it down you can watch it immediately increase itself back to full volume and then it will continually chirp that its at full volume. It's like the side button is stuck but it isn't.I can power off the phone and even pull the battery and reboot and it will be fine for a short while and then the problem will begin again.
