Jan 8, 2015I was at a party and used my phone for a few minutes 4 hours ago and there was no problem. Battery was 78%. After a while I realized my phone was not turning on. After coming back home I connected it to the wall charger and the light is blinking red. When I hold the start button there is a red light constantly but it won't turn on. Holding volume up and start button also doesn't work and there is no vibration. I tried the yellow reset button near the SIM tray and that didn't work either. My phone had a 16 GB built in memory which was pretty used up (It kept telling me transfer to SD card since memory was above 75%). I was going to buy a microSD card for it but now this happened. Is there something I can do to fix my phone?Â

May 24, 2012I have an IPhone 3GS, and everything works fine when the headphones are not connected to the headphone jack. Volume buttons work fine, up and down.As soon as I plug any headphones/speaker, I am able to turn the volume up using the side buttons, but not down. I have gone through all of the sound, ipod, and general settings on the phone but cannot find a way to fix this. Btw, the IPhone is Jailbroken, so I would like to refrain from simply trying to update the IOS.

Jun 27, 2012Every app I have that requires volume to listen works fine. But when I close the app, my ringer volume level is still in app mode volume. The app volume completely takes over my ringer volume level although in settings it never really changed. In order for me to get my ringer volume back to it's set volume, I have to go into settings and move the volume up or down. Then and only then do I have control over the ringer volume with the buttons on the side of the phone.

Jan 10, 2012the volume up button of my new Bold 9900 does not work anymore. I got the device 5 weeks ago (and its the fifth device for the last year ...). The irony is that this is supposed to be the replacement for my 4th broke Bold 9780. I really start to regret the switch from Apple to Blackberry. The products are good as long as they work - let me correct - IF they work. And the replacement process takes ages.

Aug 4, 2015Yesterday the volume down button and power button started not working. This has happened before and usually if I turn it off and on again the problem is fixed. That's not working this time. The power button works about 2/3rds of the time and the down volume button won't work at all, it sometimes even lowers the volume by itself. Because of this problem, whenever I turn the phone off and on again it brings me to the fastboot page and puts my phone on safemode, which I can't get out of. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, doing a factory data reset, and using recovery mode.

May 19, 2011The increase (top one) volume button on the side of the phone does not work. The decrease volume button work fine. For example, I open up media player, put on an mp3, but it is too low to be able to hear so I click the volume button to increase it but it just does nothing. I have threw my Blackberry once or twice in frustration since I got it for Christmas. I imagine this might have something to do with the fault but I don't know for sure.

I have tried turning off my phone and turning it back on, resetting my phone, syncing it to iTunes, and pretty much everything else. There are a number of times during the day that I just want to be able to quickly pick-up the phone and adjust the ringer volume. If there was a profile app available in the app store that allowed me to automatically set different volume levels at different times of the day it would be great - particularly if the app didn't require me to jailbreak the phone.Â
What is the reasoning behind it? I heard someone suggest once that it's intended to protect against the volume buttons being accidentally pressed if the phone is inside an enclosed space, i.e. handbag or pocket, but I've never personally experienced this when jogging with the phone in my pocket while listening to music on my headphones. And if it's for security reasons, then why is anyone able to switch my phone into silent mode?Â

Let's say I have my ringer set to 5/10 (in terms of loudness) and I recently watched a video at 9/10 loudness.Â
It seems that no matter what I set my ringer to with the volume buttons, the notifications are using that 9/10 volume level instead of the ringer volume level.Â
I've turned the phone off and back on but that doesn't fix the problem. Not sure how to replicate this problem, as not always does it present itself.Â
One obvious workaround would be to watch a video (or perhaps play music) and lower that volume level, but that's just ghetto for such an expensive device that's supposed to just work.
