The 4.0.1 update is 579.3 MB for my iPhone 4. That's a gigantic software update for just changing the display of the the bars for the reception, don't you think? Isn't the 4.0 software only like 350~400MB itself?

In mobility many iphone5s, when change network ( for example from 3g to edge ) lost signal during the telephone call. is it possible resolve the problem only if you turn off data line in the mobile phone.

Does anyone know how to display signal stength in dbm instead of bars on the Pearl 9105 3g. On other blackberrys you type Alt+mnll but my phone does not have an alt key or a qwerty keys to do this.

My memory card stops working and when I turn the phone off and back on again, it tells me "memory needs to be formated" or something like this. So it knows that there is a memory card in it, but it cant read it. And now, the display goes crazy ( it looks like a TV channel with bad signal). Sometimes, it fixes itself just with time, and sometimes, it doesn't even when I remove the battery and put it back in. I have tried flashing the phone and updating it, but nothing works.

I noticed that in ios8 that threads stay in chronological order even if the most recent message in that thread is deleted. In previous versions if I deleted a recent message and not the entire thread, that persons thread would drop in the order to the last undeleted text. But in ios8 if I delete a recent message the persons thread stays at the top of the screen even though their most recent undeleted message might be months old. It's not a huge deal but it's confusing as I like to see undeleted texts in the chronological order that they were received. I'm currently using an iPhone 6 running ios 8.1.1 but it started displaying this new order with ios 8.

after i updated my iphone 4s to the new ios update version 5.1.1 i noticed my signal strength was weak.. like by three bars.. now i cant use data half the places i go, i called at&t and they reset the network stuff for me. still nothing. is there a way to drop back down one step? its obviously a software issue but we all know it takes a while for this stuff to get fixed and i kinda need my phone because its the only one i have. oddly enough the voice signal seems to be ok dispite the fact theres one bar.

Ok I switched this week form iPhone to Android purchasing a shiny new Z5.
Because signal where I am varies dramtically from 4G to 3G etc so just changing rooms in my house will get me this notification.
Driving to work will get me several notifcations so its extremely frustrating, especially when it cuts in to songs etc that I'm listening too as I use the phone while running, it's also my main source of music in the van.
Ii have a sony ericsson vivaz UI5 and would like to no if S E would speed up the signal from 3G to 2G when the signal drops and switches over as I always seem to loose the phone signal because 3G signal stays on 1 bar then 0 for to long before it switches over to 2G. my nokia 5800 switched over much faster with no signal lost when switching over please could this be resolved in the next firmware update as sony ericsson vivaz has the same symbian S60 5th edition OS with more powerful hardware.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got this phone for a relative and it arrived today. After setting it up, transferring contacts over and making it easy for her I'm stuck on this simple option. I've looked for over 30 minutes and searched all over using various keywords but I can't find a single answer. Where do you find the display timeout setting on this phone?! It defaults to something stupidly short like 10 seconds when it should be around 30 seconds at least. How fast do they think people read text messages? If I can't change this setting I don't think they'll want to keep the phone which is a shame as it looks quite nice in general.
