I have a HTC desire HD two months before it fell down and the LCD got broken and i am not able to fix it till today when i contacted the HTC showroom they tell me there is no stock and they have placed an order its almost 2 months now

I am a new HTC user and there is one thing that is bothering me about the software and that is the new text message notification. Is there a way for this notification to only say "new message" instead of saying who it is from and what the message says before the message is even opened from the home screen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA small item I'd like to see changed is the way that the HTC People app displays the details of contacts. When a contact name is clicked on it brings up their details and unfortunately the way it displays the postal address just doesn't work. In a single line it displays a preview of their address and when clicked on only offers the option of viewing in google maps (not the actual address text). It is possible to view the entire postal address if editing - not a smart move and could lead to accidental deletion. Maybe there is another way of viewing postal addresses but I certainly can't figure it out.
It would be great if the full postal address was displayed in the contact details without having to edit or open google maps.
I was texting with someone earlier today, I sent a text at 4:31 pm and they immediately responded but their text message was time stamped at 11:32 am.For some reason all of the texts I receive are time stamped as 5 hours earlier.The people I'm texting with are located in my same timezone, and the timezone is correct in the settings of my phone. It's set to automatic but I switched to manual and checked to see that the correct timezone was selected.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe default "Drag down to take call" and "Drag up to reject call" is not working for me at all. The phone is usually in my pocket in a vertical position and usually with the screen pointing towards my leg.
When ever I try to answer a call or pick up the phone while it is in my pocket i do one or the other swipe while pulling it out of the pocket: Phone in up-right position -> direction to drag the phone to get it out of the pocket is parallel to the direct in which to drag to take a call (or dismiss it if the phone is upside down).
Can I change it? Dragging sideways to pick up seems WAY more natural. I haven't managed to find any settings, so maybe a 3rd party app?

Now i am not able to edit the middle name. HTC is showing edit options, only for 1st name and last name.

Personally I'd prefer the keyboard to light up anyway, whenever I open it since it's much easier to read when it's lit up. Is there anywhere where I can change this setting so that the keys light up as soon as I slide out the keyboard, regardless of the ambient lighting conditions?

I got this phone for a relative and it arrived today. After setting it up, transferring contacts over and making it easy for her I'm stuck on this simple option. I've looked for over 30 minutes and searched all over using various keywords but I can't find a single answer. Where do you find the display timeout setting on this phone?! It defaults to something stupidly short like 10 seconds when it should be around 30 seconds at least. How fast do they think people read text messages? If I can't change this setting I don't think they'll want to keep the phone which is a shame as it looks quite nice in general.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that in ios8 that threads stay in chronological order even if the most recent message in that thread is deleted. In previous versions if I deleted a recent message and not the entire thread, that persons thread would drop in the order to the last undeleted text. But in ios8 if I delete a recent message the persons thread stays at the top of the screen even though their most recent undeleted message might be months old. It's not a huge deal but it's confusing as I like to see undeleted texts in the chronological order that they were received. I'm currently using an iPhone 6 running ios 8.1.1 but it started displaying this new order with ios 8.
