IPhone :: "Enter The Password To Unlock Your IPhone Backup"

I visited the Apple Store in Glasgow and was advised to restore my Iphone 3G to resolve Safari issues. I did this with no problem, but I am now being asked to "Enter the password to unlock your iPhone backup". Trouble is that I don't know which password is required. My wife gave me the phone when she got an iPhone 4S. The AppleStore password for software is the original one used by my wife. For more recent software, the AppleStore password is my own AppleStore password. I also need a password when installing software for my MacMini. The phone also has a 4 digit user lock number. Which password do I use to unlock iPhone backup?

I set a screen lock code today and used it several time with no problems. Tonight the unlock screen shows 'Enter Password to Unlock' but when I enter the pin code, it will not unlock.

I can't seem unlock my device using fingerprint or backup password. The fingerprint animation isn't playing and doesn't recognise that I am swiping the home button.I have tried entering the backup password and it says I have entered it incorrectly when I am for certain entered it correctly.Changing keyboards doesn't fix this. Restarting the phone and removing the battery and SD card does not fix this.
I have previously registered for the Google Device Manager and have tried locking my phone, but that doesn't seem to work. Do I need to have an Internet connection or GPS on my phone to do that? If so, I can't connect to the internet or activate GPS due to it being locked. Is there any way around this?
I really don't want to factory reset my phone unless it's the only last option I have.And I have contacted Samsung support regarding this and am waiting for a reply. I will update if they have replied to my message.

I upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 a week or so ago on my iPhone 4. Now I am prompted to re-enter my password every several minutes. I can cancel the prompt and the phone will work fine, but it continues to happen. I also upgraded my new iPad at the same time and it didn't happen on that device.

my iphone4's screen got big all of a sudden by itself (did not do anything from the settings) now it is so big even when try to move from the corners i cant enter the numbers to unlock the sim. it touches zero in the middle and gets locked.
i turned it off and on took the simcard in and out. nothing works.

I keep getting a pop up box on my iPhone asking me to enter my password - and the apple id does not match mine. I click 'Cancel' but it keeps reappearing and interfering with other apps. What did I do to get this and what do I do to get rid of it? Is it someone or something phishing for my password? The only app I recently downloaded was PF Chang's and I got that directly from the App Store.

I just "upgraded" my wi-fi router to a Netgear WNDR3400. Everything seems to be set up fine, and I'm able to connect with our various iphones, ipads, and AppleTV. But our iphones won't automatically re-connect to the network after the connection is lost, and we have to re-enter the password when we re-connect.

When i'm signing into itunes with my apple i.d it is not always accepting my password keeps asking me to re-enter, the password is correct that i am putting. in when it dose let me on to itunes and i downloads applications and then it asks for my password it's again saying the password is incorrect but it is not. i have even had problems logging on to day via this website.

I have a Google Apps account where a password is required on the device. I'd like to see this work more like the Droid X where you set a timeout, say 30 minutes, and if you use the device within 30 minutes, you don't need to enter the password again.
