IPhone :: Can I Remove / Prevent Attachments From Incoming IPhone Email ?
May 8, 2012
I have a few friends that insist on sending daily emails with large attachments, typically ranging from 2 to 10MB ea. While I like to look at the funny movie or powerpoint files, etc., the daily stream of files are using up all my data allocation on my iPhone account. Is is possible to block the attachments from downloading to my iphone?
just synced with laptop and to my horror now have every photo from laptop in albums on my phone which i cannot remove. Have gone back into sync mode and it wont let me access the albums on phone to delete. Such ridiculous situation not to be able to delete by choice on phone. Sync only repeats the process. Not a happy iphone user. remove the albums. Also what to do when syncing to avoid happening again. When syncing, I dont seem to be able to access my iphone or chose what sync processes i want as the sync only happens as one process including the photos. Is this a fault?
On iPhone 4s, how do I prevent personal email accounts (yahoo, gmail) from accessing my work email contact list? I want to keep my work contact list private.
I just upgraded from ios ver 4.something to 5.1.1 on my Iphone 4. I can't open any mail attachments (Jpegs, excel, pdf's). When I click on an attachment it shows that it is downloading the file and then when it is done, the attachment icon blinks and nothing happens. It used to work fine before - I have 2 gmail accounts setup on my phone -they've been on my phone for the past 1yr and working fine. Rebooted the phone by pressing home and power. I deleted the accounts and re-installed with no luck. I went into Mail settings and set images to auto load - no luck. Turned wifi on and off I desperately need this for my work - I've been using Safari to login into Gmail.
I have Gmail on my iPhone 4 (with Verizon). I'm having a problem where I cannot download picture attachments. It was working fine just a couple days ago, but now when I tap the download picture icon in the email, it will blink, and sometimes act like it's starting to download, then the icon will reappear, and nothing has happened.
I can forward the email again, including the original attachment, and then the picture shows up fine in the new email, but with the original one, I can't get the picture to appear.
My e-mail is not working correctly on my phone. I have lots of ghost "No Sender" messages and it cannot download attachments anymore. I used to restart e-mail on my previous iPhone, but I don't know how to restart/re-launch it on the iPhone 5.Â
I am receiving incoming email on my iphone but am not able to send out messages. This is a new iphone, and I just attempted to link my AOL email to it.
I'm so confused by this that I'm not sure I even understand what the problem is even more. Please ask if I'm not clear on some point...I want to be able to check my email thru the GMail application; get notifications for my Yahoo Messenger, missed calls, voicemails, and SMS Text and MMS messages thru the BlackBerry Messages app; and my Gmail calendar thru the BlackBerry Calendar app.I can't figure out how to make my email NOT appear in Messages. So, I created a dummy email account that gets no email and set that up as the default email account. Now I get my real email thru the Gmail app, and all the other notifications thru Messages (and no emails in there). Great, but the Calendar app won't work with my Gmail account because it only wants to connect to the dummy gmail account and to Facebook. I don't want Facebook to touch my calendar, and I have set it as such in the Facebook App options, but it still does.
Using Google Sync, I managed to get my real calendar to show up in the Calendar as Default. When I run the sync, the appointments I created in the online Gmail calendar appear in the Calendar as being on the Facebook calendar. From the Calendar, I can not create appointments for my real Gmail account, only for my dummy account and for Facebook. If I delete the appointments from the Facebook calendar, then after syncing it deletes the appointments from my online Gmail calendar.I think what I need to know boils down to "how can I prevent email from appearing in Messages?". If I can figure that out, then I can delete the dummy account and set up the email as my real account and then the calendar should work correctly.
I have a C3 and am using it for email. I have set up my hotmail and google mail account.
Every day at 9:00 my phone checks for email automatically That is no what I want. I only want it to check for messages when I ask for it. i have a plan with a fixed amount per day, regardless how much I use it. So the automatic check for email says to my provider "you can charge this phone for the day". And that is not what I want if I do not intend to use the phone for the rest of the day.
Where can I set that automatic checking for messages is turned off.
When I am on vacation I do not want to think about work, so I don't want to receive corporate email. I've Googled this topic a bit, and everyone keeps saying you can turn the data connection off, but I still want internet access for Facebook, Google Maps, etc. Turning the data connection off would basically be like shutting off my internet at home, when all I have to do is close Outlook on my company laptop and not open it again until I want to receive email. Is there a way to temporarily prevent email from being downloaded to the Blackberry, while still being able to use data for other services?
I have turned off notifications for mail on my iphone. It shows that it is off. Why do I keep getting beeped every time I get and email if this notification is turned off. I have turned the phone off and back on with hopes that this would work to no avail.
I used to have Alert Matrix for my BB and it allowed me to assign specific alerts to email contacts that I had. I could turn it on and off so if I was waiting for an important email it would alert me but things like spam or unimportant mail were silent. It was almost like my phone was a pager because the alert would continue to sound until I acknowledged it. Is this possible on an iphone?
I am using a web based POP 3 server for email, when I delete messages from that server it deletes them also from the iphone, how can I keep the emial on the iphone when I remove them from the web server?
How can I remove a recipient from email before recreating the whole mail? I tried to drag it to some places but it only moves it between "to" and "cc". How can I completely remove it?
remove the wrong email on my Iphone. the represnter who set up my phone put in the wrong email, and now I can't down loand apps on my phone because the apple ID does not match
I am coming from a Motorola RAZRMAXX to the Motorola Moto X Pure and have found all good for the most part. One thing I am attempting to do is to prevent email deletes on the handset from deleting email on the server account.
When I open an email attachment, such as an xls or pdf, I get a message saying the document/item has been stored in my phone's downloads folder. However, said folder does not seem to exist. I have something called Downloads in the app drawer, but those email attachments aren't in there. I frequently need quick access to these items when I'm out and away from my desktop, and I don't want to dig through a bunch of past emails to re-download the attachment.
