IPhone :: After IOS 5.1 Upgrade On 3Gs Bottom Row Of Keypad Not Working?
Mar 14, 2012
I have an iPhone 3Gs and after upgrading to iOS 5.1 the bottom row of the keypad/keyboard does not function properly. More specifically, when I press the ".?123" button the SHIFT key activates and when I press the "return" key the backspace button is activated instead. I also cannot press the "space" key. This only happens in portrait/vertical mode. It's normal in landscape/horizontal mode. This problem only occurs when the keyboard is active. All other touchscreen activity is normal. Again, this only started to happen after I upgraded to iOS 5.1. I have reset the network settings, reset the phone and hard reset the phone.
I updated my 8900 to v5.0.0.461 last evening and everything works pretty fine soo far except the keypad lock button at the top of the phone no longer works. It was working fine before the upgrade. Any thoughts?
I have an iPhone 4. My bottom speaker and front camera do not work. I've taken it to an at&t store and they attempted to repair it, but were unsuccessful. I was wondering if apple had a solution or if I could trade in my phone for a new one.
I have always assigned my left convience key to lock my screen. After updating to 545 I have lost the option to even choose the keypad lock opt. Does neone know where this went? I updated with the official not the beta. Also I notice volume adjustments while on a call is not precise when lowering or raising.
recently the bottom buttons (ie. menu, back, etc) arent working as well as the side ones. I can only use the screen. Upon turning on the phone the buttons will work for a maximum 2 minutes and then I have to rely on the screen...
anyone else have this problem? I tried repairing and reinstalling everything but it didnt work... Ive also read that it could be from holding the camera button down but that is not the case
Phone Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo (MT15i).Fell into the water, and a crack on the touchscreen.I cleaned it, replaced the screen (inside the fluid were smudges) and touch screen. With the touchscreen problem, not a response by pressing the lower part of about 1 cm. 2 pieces Changed suppliers say they are original and the marriage was not. Although cracked taskrine, this part worked perfectly. Tried a different official firmware and kernel. This is a problem phone or a touchscreen? As far as I know the touchscreen controller is located on the loop and vary with the glass and the phone only to indulge in the data.
My phone has only a few days and overnight, the bottom of the touch screen no longer works at the application buttons. By testing the service menu, it is clear that this part no longer detects the touch. I tried to put the latest firmware with SEUS but nothing changed.
I have a blackberry 8520, i have used it for about a year and there are problem in the same.Keypad is not working , wrong key press happening. Given to repair at blackberry service center after n number of follow ups got a reply that the mother board is damaged as it has been exposed to water. Absolutely non sence RCA done by Blackberry team.

I got a bit of water in my phone a few days ago and since some buttons on my keypad haven't been working. The following button's haven't been working: Y, U, H, J, B, N
My phone was working fine and then I woke up to not being able to use the track pad and keyboard. It was stuck on password sign in and when I plugged the phone in woke automatically go to bedside mode.
I purchased a w385 on ebay. When I received it I tested it and the keypad worked, as well as the camera and all the menus.I then proceeded to activate it on Page Plus Cellular. Customer Service rep asked me to press *22890 for the OTA reprogramming and after that sequence/process the keypad stopped working correctly.
After that when I open the flip phone it automatically dials *, sometimes I can dial one or two numbers and then it stops. But the majority of the time none of the numbers, nor the clear, camera, send or menu buttons work.I can still receive calls. To try to fix it I flashed to the latest firmware version (.18). No improvement so then back to the one that was on the phone (.16). Still no improvement. Are there any suggestions to try to have the phone work correctly?
My BB turns on but i have a password and i know my password its just that the keypad isnt working for me to b able to type it in i havent dropped my BB into water and it doesnt have any moisture ive tried turning it on and off and putting it on the radiator just incase;
So here is my problem: My numerical keypad is not working. When I push a number nothing happens. The 0 works and when I hold down the 1 it goes to voicemail. When it goes to voicemail though, where the numbers should be there are letters. If I have someone in my contacts, I can call them but I cannot dial their number. Everything else on the phone works. Email, SMS and Browser all work. It is only the most basic function that will not work. I called Verizon and they helped me do restore and then an update but that didn't help. I went to the Verizon store and they said that all they can do is a clean wipe and restore, the same thing I did over the phone. I then took it to Cell Phone Repair (CPR). They said they have never seen it. And if they have never seen it, then it must be really screwed up.
I am unable to enter text during a call on blackberry curve 8530. I am trying to set up my voicemail and when it asks me to enter a number followed by the pound-sign, I am unable to enter anything. I have tried using alt lock, holding alt while pressing the number, pressing alt and then the number, and just pressing the numbered key...all to no avail.is there some setting I have on the phone that causes the keyboard to not be accessible during a call?
my phone experiencing some faults with the keypad, one minute all the keys are working and the some of then such as te 'o' and the 'L' and the 'G', i have tried everything to try and fix this problem and it still persists, i do not want to have to have replacement if this problem can be fixed i would be very happy, i ahve tried rebootin my phone by taking the battery out while the phone is switched on and this still does not work
My daughter dropped her blackberry curve 8520 and now the keypad buttons don't work, everything seems ok with the phone as it boots up ok and she can move the cursor ok but can't click on anything and none of the buttons do anything. If you call the phone it rings but she can't answer a call etc. I have restored the phone to factory settings and reinstalled her own backed up data but it is still the same ..
my nokia c3 keypad is not working, i may have got it wet, i don't know, but itll turn on, and if i've taken the battery out, itll let me set the date and time, but once i get passed that stage, itll just stay on the homescreen and buzzes when calls and txts come through but the keypad freezes. it'll let me also turn it off but other than that nothing. I dont know what to do? it seems weird the keypad will work for turning it on/off and numbers(date and time) until i get to the home screen..
