May 8, 2012I bought an iphone 4 from a friend. I tried to reset it to delete all her info. I doesn't stop resetting, this is been going on for more than 10hr. What can I do?

Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Stuck In Loop Of Resetting - Starts In Safe Mode
Jan 10, 2012I'm having lots of trouble with my Xperia x10 mini pro. It is somehow stuck in a reset loop, it starts in safe mode, is locked and won't allow me to press any buttons at all. Once it is turned on i have to remove the battery to turn it off. My warranty has run out for this phone now but I do like it and don't currently have the money to get a new one really.

Nov 22, 2014Like others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.
IPhone 4 :: Apple ID Is Stuck In A Loop
Jun 2, 2014I have just given my old iPhone 4 to my wife. I reset the phone and did a restore backup from when she last had an iPhone in 2012. She has a valid Apple ID and I can log into the account on a PC. However, when I try and make a purchase, free or paid for, from the App Store, I am asked for the Apple ID password and when entered, it doesnt come back with a 'incorrect password' but simply refuses.Â
So I then went to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID>View Apple ID, I am asked for the password and when entered, it simple asks again and am stuck in this loop.Â

Mar 13, 2012When I select 'start using my iPhone' it takes me back to 'slide to set up'. I get a brief view of the home screen in between, then the apple logo appears and the set up process starts again.

IPhone 4 :: Get Stuck In Authorization Loop Trying To Backup?
Jun 4, 2014I'm tyring to backup my iphone in itunes. Itunes says I must first authorize the PC I'm on to give it authorization for Appps otherwise all the apps on the phone will not be backed up. I select "Authorize" enter my apple id and get a message that the computer is now authoized. When I press ok the next message I see is the original one saying the computer needs to be authorized. I've tried this about 10 times and it's still stuck in the same loop. Â

IPhone :: IOS 5.1 Update Failure - Stuck In Recovery Loop?
Mar 16, 2012Did the OTA update to 5.1 yesterday and apparently it failed. The phone went into recovery mode instead. No big deal, plugged it into the computer, started iTunes, did recovery/restore, and then.... it went back into recovery mode. Tried a hard reset, tried to restore/update again, same result. So basically, the phone updates, and then goes right back into recovery mode. I have tried some of the jaibreaking tools to get it out of recovery, but they are also unsuccessful. I've tried using iTunes to update it about 10 times now. still nothing.

Jul 26, 2010I did some cydia updates, against my better judgement, it worked ok for a day or so then choked while txting. Its an unlocked 3g on ios3.0. I think it was mobile substrate, I ssh'd an older version, a deb file but no luck. Is a restore my only option? I have my old 3.0 ipsw.

I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting "Update" from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a "nuked or bricked BB". I have been working on this for days.The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. I get the error message "Unable to maintain JVC connection" or something along the lines of "Your device is not connected, please reconnect, enter your password and continue".I have had this phone for a year and love it. I made an investment in a BB product and I expect it to last more than one year! If I need to take it in for service, so I simply return to the store where it was purchased?

Jul 26, 2015I have an HTC One M9 (AT&T) which is stock and unrooted. Apparently a failed 5.1 update while traveling abroad has caused my phone to get stuck in recovery mode. Rebooting the phone or powering down simply brings the phone back to recovery. I am hoping there might be a way to update a stock ROM or force an OTA update without losing any of the internal data on the phone. Alternatively I was hoping I could pull the photos from the phone before wiping or returning the phone.
My only options on this screen are to: reboot system now; apply update from ADB; wipe data/factory reset; wipe cache partition; reboot to bootloader; power down; view recovery logs; apply from phone storage; apply from sd card
I have tried all options multiple times, but I have not tried a factory reset because all of my pictures from my trip are still on the internal memory of the phone.
Unfortunately I never enabled USB debugging before the device failure, so I believe my options with ADB and “pulling” the files are limited. Nonetheless, my phone won’t communicate effectively with my PC or laptop while in recovery mode, my PC and laptop only recognize that an Android device is connected while in bootloader or download mode.
I have been told by HTC that my only option is to download and update the ROM that is available on their website to the phone, but this will erase all data on my phone.
Is there any other possible option for me that can kick my phone out of recovery mode, or extract the photos from the internal storage? Is there a different ROM or OTA update I can use that will retain my data once installed?
Xperia Z3 :: Phone Stuck In Startup Loop
Jul 3, 2010When I went to bed last night my Z3 was working fine. When I woke up, any app I opened closed with the "___________ has stopped" message, so I decided to reset my phone. Now it's stuck in a loop where it will turn on until it gets to the loading page with the blue wave background before turning off and starting this again and again until I hit the little reset square by the microsd with a paperclip.
I've tried connecting it to PC companion and the Mac version (I have a mac at home but can access PCs.) Once it gets to the part where I have to hold the power button and down key while plugging it into the computer, it does nothing and I can't move forward.
I can't seem to put it into flash mode, and I tried installing the EMMA flasher program but it wouldn't recognize that my phone was connected. After more googling seems that maybe unfortunately my phone needs to be in flash mode for this to work.
I haven't modded my phone, haven't installed many apps, and I actually know nothing about phone dealing with/ programming/ booting/ computer language words so some things I am reading online definitely go over my head. I am willing to try though!
My phone will still charge though!

Jul 27, 2011Today I noticed my Defy screen was black, and it wasn't responding to power button presses, so I took the battery out and rebooted it. A few hours later it was black screen again, and I tried the same proceedure but watched it. Maybe 10 seconds after it finished booting, it rebooted and then gets stuck in a sequence of showing motorola logo and rebooting over and over. I've tried removing the battery again and it will boot once, then immediately reboot and get stuck in loop again.I have tried the following and the same result every time:boot w/o simboot w/o sdboot w/o sd or simboot with better signalI cannot do factory data reset as I do not have enough time before first reboot to get to it. Attempting to start any app before the first reboot just returns to the menu screen.

I let the battery drain and still after charging it keeps on rebooting. I am running the phone on "Safe Mode" and only able to run basic Android apps like Gmail, Phone, Gtalk, Camera, etc. All 3rd party apps in Safe mode do not work.

Sep 6, 2011I've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons. I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Dec 15, 2011I was doing a regular update of the BB apps yesterday late evening, as per the notifications received by the App World. However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot. It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again. I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup? This is a month old Torch 9800 device.

Jan 30, 2015I sold my z2 to a friend, and when he has tried to insert his new sim has forced the red reset/ off button down too hard, and its stuck. So now when the phone has any charge it is stuck in the cycle of reseting itself, vibrating 3 times and the sony logo comes up, and it just keeps doing this. Are there any tips on unsticking the reset button.
