IPhone :: 3gs Will Not Turn On, Charge, Or Allow Me To Perform A Hard Reset?
Mar 29, 2012
I have an iPhone 3gs that is out of warranty. I purchased this phone from AT&T. Last night my phoone went completely dead (battery percentage was at 96% just moments before) and now will not turn back on. I have tried just about everything I have found on discussion boards- trying hard reset, plugging into itunes, charging for15-20 mins then holding down sleep and homebuton..... NOTHING works. This phone will not light up AT ALL. My computer wont even recognize it. Is there anything else I can do?
I came across a Z5 compact that has an error that may or may not associate with faulty finger print registry.
I was unable to perform hard reset to it. Since i am stuck on the pin screen and the pin on memory didn't work.
I have attempted many methods, including the *#*#7378423#*#* method, which worked fine with the familys other M5 model fine
Pressing power and + / - didn't get me anywhere but the device was not set in dev mode or debug in the first place. When I try to connect to pc, it require me to enter pin which I can not, before I can set up the factory reset, I didn't even manage to the Google method window after.
I would like some input on higher level methods than those can be found on likes if ifixit.
I need to know the correct procedure to update the Sony Xperia Z2 from KitKat to Lollipop. These are the main questions:
1) Update via OTA or from PC Companion when the firmware is noticed? 2) When the hard reset (system repair) must be done? Before the update or after the update or both? 3) How perform CORRECTLY, STEP BY STEP, the hard reset after Lollipop update?   I and all Z2 users need this fondamental informations to prevent Lollipop bugs or malfunctions! We wait DETAILED answer from Sony!
A couple hours ago my phone was having issues connecting to my wifi automatically. When I went into Settings > Wifi my phone froze. I did a hard reset (holding down the top key and the home button) untill the little apple appeared. Problem is the apple stayed there and then dimmed and eventually shutoff. By itself the process would repeat and repeat; Apple, dull apple, no apple. I waited it out and it eventually came back on after about 20 minutes. ¬
My phone was froze again a couple hours later and I did a hard reset again. The same process occured and its been repeating for at least 2 hours now. Ive tried plugging it into my charger and nothing happened. I plugged it into my laptop and thought i would try a factory reset but since my phone isnt "on" itunes does not pick it up. I hace also tried removing te sim card and doing another hard reset while its doing its process. ¬
My iPhone was syncing to my computer and I left it, and when I came back it was turned off. I tried to turn it on like normal but nothing happened, so I tired a hard reset but it also didn't work. At first it acted like the screen wasnt on because it would vibrate. But as of now it is completely dead.
I tried to make a hard reset to my NokiaC6-00.I used this code: *#7370#.Then 12345 for the security code. After that, A black screen showed in my Nokia and the green, white and red light turned on.I waited for 5min and nothing happens, so I removed the Battery then insert it again. Now when i press the Power button i feel the vibration but nothing happens.
I just recently tried to turn on my phone and it just wouldnt work. It turns on when I plug it into the wall, but only the motorola sign shows up. I tried doing the hard reset by holding down the power and camera, then plugging it in to turn it on, but it only shows the motorola logo, then the screen turns black, then it starts up again to show the motorola logo. Im thinking its either the battery or the software
My Iphone 4s is dead. I plug in it to the charger and the battery pops up on the screen, after a couple¬ minutes it powers in but will not charge I ttmried to reset it and it powers off but will not power back up the battery pops back up..
About an hour ago my phone turned off unexpectedly and wouldn't turn on. I didn't really think much of it but I was a bit worried as the charge was on 96% so it couldn't have run out of charge, also i'd had this phone for almost 10 months and this hasn't happened before. It's currently been on charge for 30-40 minutes and I've reset it a few times but all that happens is the Apple logo comes up, then after 1-2 minutes it disappears and nothing else happens. It also keeps randomly resetting itself without me doing anything but all that happens is that it goes off, AGAIN.
I've had Xperia Z2 for almost two months now, today when I was at work I noticed that it was off, although it had more than 40% of battery still remaining. I tried turning it back on but as it didn't work I figured something was wrong with it.
I tried hard reset and it did vibrate three times, but it still wouldn't turn on. I thought something drained the battary and waited till I got home to charge it. Now that I am at home it doesn't even charge, none of the LED lights work, it won't connect to pc companion either and hard reset now does nothing (as in, it doesn't vibrate 3 times anymore).   I tried volume up/down+power button combination, hard reset, held the reset button for longer than 15 sec, I removed sd card and sim, nothing works the phone is just lifeless. I haven't dropped it or used it intensely, it  never overheat or anything of that sort.
Yesterday, I went running with my Lumia 1020 listening to music and using the Runtastic app. The music stopped - I looked at the phone - it was turned off. I tried powering on, but to no avail. I should also mention that upon leaving, the battery was fully charged and this happened after some 20 minutes. When I came home, I immediately put the phone on the wall charger and expected it to power on after a while. I checked it after 3 hours and nothing, the phone was still stone-dead and what was even more worrying, completely cold - no heat-up from charging.
I tried connecting it to my PC - the computer didn't even recognize ANY device was connected to it. Just to be sure, I tried Nokia Software Recovery Tool, but sure enough, it was not able to detect the phone. The phone seems to be dead meat now, but when I put it on my desk wireless charging stand, the stand's indicator lights up, although the phone does nothing and stays that way.
I've tried charging my Nokia 1020 for 8 hours with no luck. After that I tried the 2 key and 3 key reset with no luck as well. I tried to plug it up to my computer but I got nothing there either. I am getting no indication that its charging and I'm starting to think I'm out of options. Is there anything else I can try? This just basically happened out of the blue, I turned it off and now it doesn't want to come back on at all...
I purchased a brand new LG V10 on EBay. I received the phone today, the phone won't perform a factory reset. Every time I try to factory reset the phone, the phone reboot and I receive the following message:
My Galaxy S5's screen broke and it is completely black. I need to return this phone to geek squad but I must perform a factory reset on it before I send it, but I dont know how I can do this if I cant read what it is on the screen. Is there anyway that I could perform a factory reset from my computer or is there another way to perform a factory reset without needing the screen?
if i do a hard full reset will that reset eveything including the first hotmail live account i put in on the first day of activation because im not living in the same country anymore and want to start a new zune/marketplace account to buy apps i have no problem with hard reset IF It will work?
So i have noticed with all the issues with 5.1.1 that when you hard reset by holding down the top button and the home button, the phone while restart with the apple logo and reboot. However, it will not kill/close the applications in the open programs tray. Am I the only one experiencing this? Can anyone else reproduce or confirm that hard reset used to kill the programs in other versions?
I was having problems downloading from the app store (which another thread resolution solved for me) but in the midst of working on this issue, a friend suggested I do a hard reset on the phone by holding the top power button and the little dot on the front until it just shut off. I did this and I come back to none of my text messages. They have all been deleted. I can't find anything on the forums about this.
I am not sure I particularly care, meaning I don't think I had too much in the way of important information contained in them, but it wasn't supposed to do that so that's a bit annoying to me. Why did my phone do something it wasn't supposed to do?
Every time I fully charge my iPhone 6 Plus it turns off and doesn't want to turn on normally: I have to reset it every time by pressing the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button for a couple of seconds.¬
Also, sometimes after leaving it in sleep mode, when I wake the iPhone I find it having restarted alone without me doing anything: it asks me to type again the PIN number of my SIM card, as if it had just been turned on.¬
I received a phone call and once it ended the phone screen went blank.I tried to do the home button and power button 15 second hold. But it doesnt work.I can hear my calls and emails come in and the phone screen stays blank. What to do? Can apple fix this.
I have a bunch of books in my kindle library and had downloaded a subset of them to my iphone in the kindle app.¬
I was having issues with the iphone, and I ended up doing a backup/hard-reset/restore. Everything came back fine except my downloaded kindle books.¬ Actually, when I first opened the kindle app, I saw the previously downloaded books listed in the "device" tab, but they soon disappeared.¬
Where does the kindle app store this info on my phone and why wasn't it saved/restored to/from the backup?¬
I can download those books again from the cloud, so nothing lost, but it is an annoyance - especially if one likes to have lots of books handy.¬
Just got a new iPhone 4 the other day. I was charging the phone and it fell, only a couple feet at most. There is a small crack in the back of the phone now, and it won't turn on anymore. My friend has a iPhone 4 as well and we swapped out the battery and the back housing (just to make sure that the crack didnt short anything out) but the symptoms persist.
I have it plugged into the wall charger now, tried doing a hard reset (holding home and power for some time) but nothing. This is very frustrating to think that the iPhone 4 is this fragile. Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try to get this device back up and running? Any help at all would be very appreciated.
My htc one(m7) started behaving strangely. It says htc sense has been stopped unfortunately ..... So I tried to reset it..... I pressed the power button +the volume down button and got the boot menu and when i choose the factory reset, it gets turned off then shows the logo of htc ... thats it and does not respond..... I have tried it several times and the result is same....
My phone was passcode locked because of sensitive emails for my work. When I took it out of my pocket this morning, it had reset itself and was optimizing. It had reset itself!    I have a feeling it because a passcode was entered too many times and the phone reset itself. (Happened before as the touch is very sensitive) Or it is a bug and it rest itself which is highly unlikely.    My question is whether or not I can get all my data, apps and contacts back.  I do not have the time or patience to set it all up again.
Two months ago i purchased HTC one s. Last night i turned it off and later turned it on but it didn't turned on! I tried to give it a Hard reset but it didn't even switched on in the recovery mode. It is not showing a sign of rebooting. It is completely switched off. I tried to switch it on using volume down/volume up button with power button but it still not got ON!:-(I tried to connect it with PC but it fails to load..Only thing that shows the sign of life is it's charging orange light..Is my phone dead??? If so, then why HTC?I am so sad and tensed.
