Dec 12, 2014Both my iPad Mini and iPhone6 try to connect to my brother's wifi network when I'm at home and he lives 20 miles away. I have to go to settings each time and choose my own.Â
I have read some people saying that the strongest signal will always be chosen first, obviously not in this case, and also that it's in alphabetical order which would apply.Â
I dont want to forget his network as I'd have to enter his password every time I'm round there and forget it again back at home. Any solution for prioritising wifi networks?

Dec 29, 2011When I attempt to use an IP webcam program my Flipside does not default to using the Wifi network it is connected to, to broadcast the video. In order to get it to use the wifi network I have to put the phone in airplane mode and then turn on Wifi. How can I get it to use the Wifi connection without having to go to Airplane mode or otherwise disable my phones ablility to make and receive calls?

May 24, 2011I have the 200MB plan and use the internet when I am ONLY on WiFi networks. However, while exploring 2.2, I recall seeing a setting that, if the WiFi connection drops, the new setting stops the Bravo from using the 3G. If the Bravo changed over to 3G to maintain the internet connection (apparently the default setting), massive data charges would be incurred. I have tried to re-discover this setting but no success to date. Any way to use / change this "WiFi to 3G" setting?

I want to just manually set the default gateway as the main modem router like I have done on my laptop but don't seem to be able to edit the settings in Windows Phone 8 - they're all greyed out.

Oct 10, 2011My Xoom post upgrade to 4G is now assigning the IP address of 192.168.20.1 to the device usb1 everytime it is rebooted. This apparently hardwired configuration conflicts with my homenetwork's default gateway.Is there anyway to change this with out rooting the device? I would rather not have to re-IP my home network or not be able to connect to any network via Wifi who uses that IP address as a default gateway.

Dec 30, 2014i have a problem with my galaxy S5 ATT. so im using Netgear wireless n-150 router WNR 1000,its updated,but the problem was before the update and after the update it is the same. i'm using yahoo,gmail and comcast emails.i was able to setup yahoo email without any problems,i can send and receive emails from my phone when connected to wifi and without wifi. but i wasnt able to add to that stock email app my gmail account and comcast while i was connected to my wifi.it gave me error that it wasnt able to connect to the server to verify information.
So I tried to set it up on the mobile network and there was no problem. so now when i connected to wifi in my house i cant receive emails or send them using gmail and comcast email,yahoo account is working fine. i checked all the settings,i reset the router,still nothing.the funny part is if i download gmail app it is working without any problems.and if i connect to any other wireless router,all 3 emails work. also when i connect to my wifi, I'm getting internet and i'm able to open pages without any problems. So it should be some settings in the router probably ...

Mar 10, 2010I've recently bought a Nokia 5800 xm and have been able to connect it to my home internet using the wlan wifi.
I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?

Feb 16, 2010so every few days, my iphone's inbox will do this thing where it loads all emails "zoomed out" by default. In other words, the text appears super small on one side of the screen, and i have to double tap to zoom in in order to read anything. Sometimes, it won't even let me zoom in, which is even more frustrating. Restarting the phone usually fixes it, but I was wondering if anyone here knew why this was happening, or any other ways to fix it?
