I remember that it was possible to change the wifi TX power level from default 100mW to e.g. 4mW on Nokia N95 to save battery life --> Menu> Tools> Setting> Connection> Wireless LAN> Options> Advanced Settings" and then "Automatic config> Disabled> TX power level> Options> Change".
Now, on a Nokia 701, I was searching for that option but couldn't find it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a Nokia N8 and have installed Nokia Battery Monitor 2.1 and I've noticed that the native battery level monitor is always reporting more battery level than the Nokia Battery Monitor.Also I'm experiencing problems with the native monitor because it seems to be stuck at the same level (It has been stuck at 100% while Nokia Battery Monitor reported 70%).Switching off the phone hasn't solved the problem until I used restore the phone to factory default option but know it is stuck at 80% (and Nokia Battery Monitor reports 53%)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've observed my N97 mini's battery level dropping abruptly from 4 bars to 1 bar (with low battery alarm). The phone's slightly more than a month old and using the latest 11.x.x firmware. Did a bit of googling, and found several suggestions on how to save battery (turn off everything 'smart' on ur phone). That's not the point anyways. I need to find out why the battery level drops suddenly (like what happens when ur battery's dying out), and *not* why the battery lasts X hrs.
I'm not sure about this, but I think this mostly happens when the battery level is slightly below max, and I use any app that needs the GPS functionality. But then, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the GPS hardware in the phone, 'coz it usually gets a GPS lock in less than a minute (mostly within seconds). Could it be related to the algo used to show the battery level, or is it that its my battery that's faulty?
is there a way to change the default web browser? Skyfire seems to be working a whole lot better for me so would love to have it as my default i know it still beta version but i've able to access a whole lot more with it.

When I do the search for particular music, it will again take me to "India" store instead of "Germany" store. In addition, most annoying is that I have to re-login but my user id and password will not work as its different store. Also when I go via music.nokia.de and try to login, it open Ovi player and since default location is "India", it takes me to India store and my login credentials do not I ask Nokia care on how to change default Ovi Player Store location but they are unable to provide any good I already un-install / re-installed but won't work. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing poor battery life on my Nokia 5800 XM recently. Sometimes on a full charge I could only get a day to a day and a half of standby time with minimal usage (2-3 texts, no calls and 5 photographs). I put this down to an old battery and ordered a new one.In the meantime we went to my parents-in-law and the battery lasted 5 days on a full charge including a reasonable amount of web browsing via WLAN.Got back home and the battery died a couple of days later despite being fully charged.
Put in a brand new battery, charged it up and used the phone - 2.5 days later it was dead (minimal texts and a couple of photos). Charged it again - 2 days standby before dead.Downloaded the power profile app - everything seemed to be fine. The phone idled nicely on standby with minimal power drain.Then I used the bluetooth and everything became clear. After connecting to OVI for a minute or two, downloading my photos then closing OVI and disabling the bluetooth on the phone, I noticed my power consumption didn't go back down. I was getting regular peaks of around 150ma and the battery life was considerably reduced.
If I left the bluetooth disabled and power cycled the phone, it would settle down to minimal usage. The moment bluetooth was enabled, the problem reocurred.I then backed the phone up, totally wiped the sd card and reinstalled from scratch.Exactly the same problem - fine until BT enabled then even when disabled, the phone started drawing excess current on idle.

I recently got a new E63 phone & am struggling to get my contacts right. The problem is the default contact location is phone memory and though i have copied the contacts to phone memory, if there is any incoming call or sms, the name doesnt appear even though i would have that persons contact stored.
Is there any way to change the default location to memory card? I go to Communication -> contacts -> Options -> Settings and the only option available is Phone & Contacts. Currently the default is phone. If i change to contacts, it asks for sign in. Kindly assist.
