I have a water-damaged iPhone 3G S and since Apple switched their policy for liquid-damaged iPhone's, it says I can replace my iPhone for the Out-Of-Warranty price for $199. I did not purchase an AppleCare Protection Plan and was wondering if I am eligible for the Out-Of-Warranty price. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's showing up on all sites, money was authorized, got confirmation emails, so I'm assuming all is good.The only weird thing is when I check my upgrade options, it still says I'm eligible to buy the iPhone for the $199/$299 price, which is awesome, I guess! I looked it up on the apple website, and used *639#. Will my new contract start when I activate the phone, or will I be able to possibly buy a second one and sell it for a nice profit? Excuse me for asking this question that may have been answered in another thread.I run a website of my own with a lot of Mac owners. We talk about iPhones as all of you do here. We are just much, much smaller.
It seems that many people who bought the 3GS when it went on sale in June of last year are eligible for the discount upgrade. Then there are others, like myself, who are not. I am eligible in February 2011. Has anyone figured out why that is? Now, mind you, I am certain of the fact that quite a few of our forum members bought a 3GS last June and entered a 2-year contract. We are assuming perhaps it has something to do with how much money you spend each month with AT&T. It is being suggested that if you have a lot of service with AT&T and pay a hefty bill each month they will automatically grant you the upgrade pricing.
None of my lines show the 199/299 price range even though they are upgrade eligible in 2010. Should I go through AT&T

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen the iPhone 4 was released I had 2 of my 3 lines eligible for full or partial upgrades. One a full subsidy, the other a half subsidy and the other nothing. Both upgrades were used on the 4's release but as of yesterday I noticed my line that wasn't eligible till February of 2011 now has a full upgrade. This would have been helpful 2 weeks ago because I wouldn't have used the early upgrade and paid more.Anyone else have their upgrade date move that didn't fall within 2010 grace period set by AT&T?

I've ha this phone for 4 months now and it is starting to present some unusual things:
1. Whenever I open an app after sometime, the phone woul make like a brief restart. A spiral appears on the screen, after that to the lock screen.

I dropped my iPhone 4 and the screen shattered. It still technically works, but it's kind of hard to see what I'm doing. I was told that Apple will give me a replacement phone for much cheaper than a new one. How many of you have had to have your iphone worked on? I bought the iphone a couple of years ago, and found the technical support here was much better. I was told my an apple sales person tell me that if I lost my iphone, applecare would allow me to buy another one at $199. Since we just signed up for the 2 year contract with ATT, if we lost the phone, it would be full price. I know apple care doesn't cover water damage or cracked screen. Is there a deductible when it is sent it? I did call apple and no one seemed to know the details. I had gotten talked in to buying the Best Buy black tie protection plan, but I just couldn't handle the thought of $14.99 for two years.

I changed my contract from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4 in may 2011. Since then my USB does not work properly and the earphones, well one ear works and the other doesn't. I then went online to check if I could get a replacement for both which I am still not sure that accessories are covered under tha warranty. Then I put my serial number and it said that my phone was out of coverage which doesn't make sense as I got the phone in may 2011 and it's only April 2012.Not a year yet.
