I need help, I talk to an AT&T store rep and they were useless. I also plan on upgrading tomorrow, but if I can't upgrade then gonna have to find an extra 200$.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI preorderd through AT&T Premier on the 15th, and everything seems fine with my order. It's showing up on all sites, money was authorized, got confirmation emails, so I'm assuming all is good. The only weird thing is when I check my upgrade options, it still says I'm eligible to buy the iPhone for the $199/$299 price, which is awesome, I guess! I looked it up on the apple website, and used *639#. Will my new contract start when I activate the phone, or will I be able to possibly buy a second one and sell it for a nice profit? Anyone else have this happen?
View 10 Replies View RelatedExcuse me for asking this question that may have been answered in another thread.I run a website of my own with a lot of Mac owners. We talk about iPhones as all of you do here. We are just much, much smaller.
It seems that many people who bought the 3GS when it went on sale in June of last year are eligible for the discount upgrade. Then there are others, like myself, who are not. I am eligible in February 2011. Has anyone figured out why that is? Now, mind you, I am certain of the fact that quite a few of our forum members bought a 3GS last June and entered a 2-year contract. We are assuming perhaps it has something to do with how much money you spend each month with AT&T. It is being suggested that if you have a lot of service with AT&T and pay a hefty bill each month they will automatically grant you the upgrade pricing.
None of my lines show the 199/299 price range even though they are upgrade eligible in 2010. Should I go through AT&T

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen the iPhone 4 was released I had 2 of my 3 lines eligible for full or partial upgrades. One a full subsidy, the other a half subsidy and the other nothing. Both upgrades were used on the 4's release but as of yesterday I noticed my line that wasn't eligible till February of 2011 now has a full upgrade. This would have been helpful 2 weeks ago because I wouldn't have used the early upgrade and paid more.Anyone else have their upgrade date move that didn't fall within 2010 grace period set by AT&T?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSorry if this has already been addressed, but will AT&T soon allow those who bought a 3GS in Jan./Feb. to upgrade for $199? OR will I have to wait until the date it says (2/14/11)? Any way of finding out?I'm on a family plan for 2. Bill is around $160 each month.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a water-damaged iPhone 3G S and since Apple switched their policy for liquid-damaged iPhone's, it says I can replace my iPhone for the Out-Of-Warranty price for $199. I did not purchase an AppleCare Protection Plan and was wondering if I am eligible for the Out-Of-Warranty price. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe site went down on attt and I got a message: You can take advantage of our no-commitment pricing option, with the exception of iPhone which requires a 2-year commitment. Additional discounts may be available on 03/19/2011. This is bull crap! Check your upgrade options. I was eligible now and now i am not.

Can I use someone else's upgrade? Yes, this is called an "upgrade swap". AT&T will allow you to upgrade any line to receive a new phone. You can then activate that phone on any phone line you like. Apple is able to do this in store also, but it requires a bit more time since they have to call AT&T first. If you pre-order and recieve the phone by mail, you will need to contact AT&T to let them know that you will be activating the phone on another line."
My current situation:
I am on a family plan with a total of two lines. My line is not eligible until 7/23, so all I can get is "early upgrade pricing". My mom's line is currently eligible for "full upgrade pricing". I am planning on using my mom's upgrade to get an iPhone 4. I want to preorder the phone from Apple.com on the 15th, and hopefully receive it the afternoon of the 24th. From my understanding, the microSIM that ships with the phone will be programmed for the line whose upgrade was used. However, the iPhone Upgrade Guide makes it sound like I can call AT&T once I receive the phone (and before I activate it), and have AT&T switch the microSIM from my mom's line to mine. Is this possible?
I have a message in my settings telling me that i can upgrade my IOS, but i don't want to upgrade at this time. How can i get rid of the red message mark?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to sell my 3G S now, but I've checked everything and I'm still not comfortable with what ATT is telling me. When in dial *NEW# from the phone, the message says they can offer me an upgrade.
The website says I "may" qualify for an upgrade. Calling 611 in the automated system, it says they can offer me a discount. Can anyone clarify this for me?
I have a jailbroken IPhone 3gs running 3.1.3, the main reason I jailbroke was so I could disable cellular data and not pay the 25 a month. I want to upgrade to something above 4.0. now I know in 4.0 or newer you can turn off cellular data but does that do the same thing as the profile. I have on my phone that disables the data? Also is there a way to upgrade to 4.0 or 4.10 so I can jailbreak again?
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I know someone who was jailbroken and unlocked on 3.1.2, but he did a reset all settings and content, and it put in him a reboot loop, so the phone wont start. So, I'm trying to find out if there is anyway to restore the iphone to 3.1.2, without losing the unlock. His SHSH are saved on cydia.I am with AT&T so when I upgraded to 3.1.3, and downgraded to 3.1.2 I didn't need an unlock. So I think the process would be different, right?Or is it as easy as doing a shift+restore through iTunes with the modded Hosts file? Or will that mess with any of the unlock?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI do not recall seeing/reading my question anywhere the past few weeks regarding the new OS 4 (whenever it comes out):
Question: Will my iPhone 3GS (purchased Sep2009) be able to upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0?If the answer is "no", does anyone know if Apple plans to offer some of the 4.0 enhancements as a 3.x patch for us 7-month old owners?
Based on the leaked images will you upgrade your current iPhone to the next generation or will you stick with what you have?
View 24 Replies View RelatedFeels the same due to weight, even though it's 24% smaller width. I thought I liked the design of my old 3G, but the new iPhone 4 is a beauty. Biggest complaint with the 3G was the amount of time it took to load apps, just horrendous. Everything on the 4G is just faster and snappier within micro-seconds. HD Video cam, haven't used it much yet but can see myself using it often vs. not having one on the 3G. Photos, awesome as always and the LED flash will help out a ton.
In summary, after the excitement of opening the package and being among the 600k that "got it first" I can't say I'm too much impressed. Definitely something I wouldn't wait in line for more than 1 hour, much less camp out for.
