My phone died last night while I was asleep. I plug it in this morning and then turn it on after a little while. It comes up to a screen telling me to "Type password to decrypt storage" and as you can guess I've never encrypted anything so I don't have a password. So I get the phone to load into Bootloader.I try to factory reset and it tells me ***TAMPERED*** ***LOCKED*** ***Security Warning***.Well, I'm at a complete loss as to what to do.
I got the phone last year from AT&T. It's not stolen. It's not second-hand.It's stock. I've never tried to root it or do anything but use it as intended.I can't use my phone to do ANYTHING. It's S-On as well.
I unlocked my bootloader, flashed Chainfire's systemless boot.img, flashed TWRP twrp-2.8.7.1-angler.img and when I took into recovery TWRP is asking me for a password to decrypt. I don't remember setting a password and don't know if there is a default one.
the phone stays on when charging but when taken off it goes blank battery pulled out and put back in, it loads and sometimes it says intialisation failed also its not allowing me to type in my password?
The strange thing is when I plug power into it, I can see the screen for a moment then it dims. It will ring, but you cannot answer, as I said, none of the keys will prompt the phone to do anything. I connect the phone to the PC and it detects and asks for password. Here is my problem. When I type in the password, it says it is the incorrect password. I know this is the password. I am on the 4th attempt, so I am stopping because I am aware of the security wipe. This happened previously so I had to turn off the password on my blackberry so I could connect it to the PC
I cannot type in password on any online services eg, facebook/email etc. I can type-in username but cannot type in password its just a blinking cursor you see but cannot see any alphabets, numbers etc etc..been trying too, to "Factory Data Reset" but i need to type in password for my emails and so forth.

When I turn on my phone to enter the password it appears that the keyboard is locked. It does not let me type anything which means I cannot use my phone.
I do not know what I touched and the voice control took over everything I touched was 'read' to me by the voice and I can't type the numbers to unlock my phone(screen).
I have a Nokia 6700 Classic on O2 and it's been working fine for over a year up until a few days ago when the Facebook application started being a bit problematic. I can load the app up no problem over packet data, 3G, GPRS or whatever available but when I click on the email address box to type my in address, it stays white and nothing appears. Same goes for the password box. I tried a full factory restore and then reinstalling the packet data settings but no change...
So everytime i connect my phone with my PC a message appears on my screen about needing the phones Mass Storage Mode Password but i never had any password for it? This is my first time doing this so Im sure i never put in a password how do i reset this or how can i figure out my password?
Did RIM remove the password storage app from their latest software version for the Tour? My phone was serviced yesterday and the tech had to reload the operating system. When I restored my backup, I received an error message but everything restored except for the password storage app and the standard games. I now have no access to logins and passwords for certain accounts.
When I try to update an app I type my apple ID password and a box pops up with "Unknown error." but I can still log into my Apple ID elsewhere, so I know the password is right.
I've never had a problem downloading photos from my Storm to my laptop till today, so I set the download to "erase when complete". The videos came over just fine, but all the photos disappeared, leaving only ONE .RE'M file which of course I can't open. I'm sick about it - so many photos of my grandchildren on the carousel.
Can I upload that one .REM back to my Storm and decrypt it?
I have an old bb curve 8900 with over 1000 pics and I am trying to download the pics, but every time I try they all have the .rem extension. I've tried transferring them to my mac using the bb desktop manager but it is only reading 168 pics and ignoring the rest. I've tried changing the media card settings as suggested by another site, and I have tried using the media card adapter but neither has worked. Is there something I need to do differently?
I have recently upgraded my Pearl 3G 9100 from OS5 to OS6, and now I can't seem to decrypt my encrypted files for use on my computer. Under OS5, if I plugged the phone into the computer and engaged media transport mode, all the files that I copied onto the phone would be automatically encrypted and all the files that I copied off the phone would be automatically decrypted. I would also be given the option to have video files converted into a form the phone could play, Under OS6, when I connect the phone to the computer I get two options for data transfer, USB Drive and Media Sync, but neither of these modes seems to automatically decrypt files that I copy from my phone to my computer. All of the files that I have tried to copy off my phone under either mode are unviewable on the computer. Is there something I'm missing? If I can't find a way to accomplish the same automatic en/decryption and media conversion that was possible under OS5's media transport mode, under OS6 then I will have to downgrade back to OS5 again.
I've a few encrypted videos on my smartphone.. the format is .rem The problem is, i'm unable to connect to the app world.. It shows an error suggesting me to turn off my encryption.. the encryption is disabled.. But still doesnt work.. how I can decrypt the data now.??
I am not being able to create a new vpn connection. I am trying to use the PureVPN and IPVanish client software, but when I try to setup the conection, I receive a disclaimer, saying that my traffic might be monitored, with a "CANCEL" and "OK" options. The OK doesn´t work, only "CANCEL".  My device is encrypted and I have also noticed that I am not able to decrypt it.  Also, If I go to Accessbility and try to enable a service, the same thing happens: a disclaimer appears, saying that the service might observe my actions, with a "CANCEL" and "OK" options. The OK doesn´t work, only "CANCEL".
After upgrading from gb to ics I am having problems decrypting digitally signed email in Exchange. I had a similar problem in gb but it only effected the attachements. Now I can't read the message in addition to the attachments.
I have *.cer, *.crt, and *.p7b files for certificates, but the exchange client on the Atrix 2 doesn't seem to accept them (looks like it only accepts *.p12 and *.pfx). I did manage to add the *.crt files to the credential storage storage section in the main settings window, but that doesn't seem to help with the exchange client.
As the title states, I flashed the lastest Cataclysm (stable) and ElementalX kernel(also TWRP asked me that SuperSU wasn't present and to flash it so I did, that might've messed it up), phone booted up fine and set my fingerprint password and everything. I decided to reboot my phone and the phone encrypted itself and now the ROM is force closing and I can't do anything. It asks for a password every time the recovery starts up (I tried default_password, no go) and TWRP won't let me decrypt.
So my question is, is there a way to decrypt without erasing userdata? Would really like to keep my internal storage. I have lots of important pictures and files.
A coworker has a DOD encryption device on his computer. Whenever he sends me any email from his computer, I get the feather with the red exclamation point and the message [Unable to decrypt this message]. If I click on the red exclamation point I get the following:Digital signature informationDigital signature error.RROR: Unable to get certificatedata. My previous Droid 1 would display the messages from my coworkers computer without an error. We use a Microsoft Exchange email server. What do I need to do to be able to view emails from this coworker? He forwarded me the same message from his iPhone 3S and I was able to view it. So it has something to do with the encryption. I saw someone had the same problem on the Droid Razr HD / Droid HD MAXX forum.
whats the total storage and available storage after factory reset?i have the latest update 12121, total storage is 6.28GB and my available storage is 5.94GB is that normal?
I've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive. It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.
I have an iPhone 5 and its at full capacity. Mostly due to my large music library. I noticed I can increase my iCloud storage to up 50GB with yearly payments. Does this increase the overall storage on the iPhone 5? Essentially, I am trying to increase how much music I can hold on my iPhone. If I add 10 to 20GB of iCloud storage, will I be able to add more data (audio files) to my iPhone?
My picture files turned to .jpg.rem and I cannot open the pictures, they said that the picture files was encrypted and that I need to decrypt the pictures, I saw the post that telling me to transfer the pictures to other folder to decrypt it and I got this message "failed to decrypt padding byte out of range"
