I've a few encrypted videos on my smartphone.. the format is .rem The problem is, i'm unable to connect to the app world.. It shows an error suggesting me to turn off my encryption.. the encryption is disabled.. But still doesnt work.. how I can decrypt the data now.??
View 1 RepliesMy son has a blackberry torch 9800 and we recently went to the Dominicon Republic at which time I told my son not to use his phone for nothing but texts since i added a plan for that while we where gone.However I got my Virgin Mobile bill to find out I had 173.00 in data charges so i looked at my bill and found it showed his phone was using data pretty well every hour we where gone except when the phone was turned off.Can anyone tell me why this phone would be using data and browsing when it was not being used but was merely turned on.

As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

I've never had a problem downloading photos from my Storm to my laptop till today, so I set the download to "erase when complete". The videos came over just fine, but all the photos disappeared, leaving only ONE .RE'M file which of course I can't open. I'm sick about it - so many photos of my grandchildren on the carousel.
Can I upload that one .REM back to my Storm and decrypt it?
I know they are iPhone lovers, maybe Steve is paying them to leave it there since they dis the Torch so much.

My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. I have an old bb curve 8900 with over 1000 pics and I am trying to download the pics, but every time I try they all have the .rem extension. I've tried transferring them to my mac using the bb desktop manager but it is only reading 168 pics and ignoring the rest. I've tried changing the media card settings as suggested by another site, and I have tried using the media card adapter but neither has worked. Is there something I need to do differently?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded my Pearl 3G 9100 from OS5 to OS6, and now I can't seem to decrypt my encrypted files for use on my computer. Under OS5, if I plugged the phone into the computer and engaged media transport mode, all the files that I copied onto the phone would be automatically encrypted and all the files that I copied off the phone would be automatically decrypted. I would also be given the option to have video files converted into a form the phone could play, Under OS6, when I connect the phone to the computer I get two options for data transfer, USB Drive and Media Sync, but neither of these modes seems to automatically decrypt files that I copy from my phone to my computer. All of the files that I have tried to copy off my phone under either mode are unviewable on the computer. Is there something I'm missing? If I can't find a way to accomplish the same automatic en/decryption and media conversion that was possible under OS5's media transport mode, under OS6 then I will have to downgrade back to OS5 again.

Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.

As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?

The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?
