My blackberry torch will suddenly stop being able to connect to any internet service. It has service and the BIS logo. I get the unable to connect to the internet message. Anyone have any solutions? I tried cycling airplane mode, battery pull, and pulling and replacing the sim. This is frustrating to say the least.
View 14 RepliesI recently changed my bb 9670 style cdma for a torch 9860 gsm and now with this new bb the bis service over the wifi is not working and is the same carrier just changed the device, also i have a unlimited data plan, but in some areas where im used to stay there is bad reception so i used to be connected by wifi for my bis services, is this a problem of the gsm or RIM, i called several times to costumer assistance but they said that new os7 dont support bis over wifi, and thats not true so what u recomend to me
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, for the first few days, all was well. Then today when I ventured out away from home (3G coverage), I lost all data connections. It still says 3G and I still have a strong signal, but the little Blackberry logo is gone next to the 3G and I literally can not do anything besides talk.Once back in WiFi, all is well. The Blackberry logo appears next to the WiFi signal and I am golden. If I turn WiFi off, same thing, logo disappears and no data connections available.Anyone run in to this? I didnt do anything that should affect this and I thought maybe we were having a BIS outage in Milwaukee, but am not seeing anything.

I have BBDesktop 6 installed, the phone is connected via USB directly to the laptop, and all of the Media Sync options say:"You need to turn on mass storage mode from the connected BlackBerry device to use this feature."
I see no such configuration option on the phone.Also, in Windows file manager, the SD and USB drives appear as removable drives E: and F:, but they are unaccessible: "Please insert disk in drive.."
I'm hesitated to buy BB because i want to know:If not ,does downloaded WLM work with wifi? (because it doesn't using my friend's BB with my OWN sim card.I'm trying to connect downloaded WLM over WIFI but is says: data services unavailable )Installing third party applications ex: Antivirus , games or etc...if i want to use wifi for other things than BB services such as updating those third parties, can it be done over wifi?want to know how much restrictions do i have using Wifi in BB an i do all the other things on wifi that is usually/normally done on wifi excluding BB services ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy wifi doesn't work ( i cant surf) with data services off. and if i keep data services on that is if my blackberry services..and surf the webpages ..my balance gets decducted..but i have unlimited blackberry plan. and on the first place my balance shouldnt be deducted because i am using my wifi ( in case my page gets open through wifif not blackberry services) and if i am using my balckberry internet either way my balances shouldnt get decducted.

When ever I try to login, I get this error message: Data Services Unavailable. All the time i try to login, I am active on wi-fi connection.
1. Is there a way to make wi-fi connection as primary/default internet access point and not data/3G services
2. How to make gtalk work on wifi connection without data/3g plan.
I've a few encrypted videos on my smartphone.. the format is .rem The problem is, i'm unable to connect to the app world.. It shows an error suggesting me to turn off my encryption.. the encryption is disabled.. But still doesnt work.. how I can decrypt the data now.??

They said, i need to ensure that the setting of browser is 'internet browser'. In the common blackberry (i was using Bold 9000), the setting can be found in this path:Option--Advance Option--Browser--Default Browser Configuration==Internet Browser..However, when i check the same path in my Torch 9800, I cannot find such 'advance option' under the setting menu (in homescreen).

View 12 Replies View Related1. Doesnt Turn On (I Get red light for approx 1 min with charged plugged in ONLY / then changes to charging sign on screen.
2. If chargers unplugged nothing happens no lights nothing (tried all battery pull far from this now)
3. Install all the software needed to do a full re-install BBSAK + JL_Cmder + Loader "to no avail"
4. When using the above said software i get an error on the COMPUTER saying "Cannot connect to JVM" Click either retry or cancel. the phone then seems to be going into a LOOP again, the windows device notification sounds every so many seconds.
Phone also never changes from a black screen with battery sign with lighting strike through it!Prior to the above the phone was fine, what this could be as it seems that most other threads and posts about JVM Errors seem to have a specific code and this one doesn't.
I have a blackberry torch 9800 which was working fine until i went to england. The connection was fine. Then when i came back home to ireland my phone wouldn't connect to the mobile network and still won't! I can't send texts but i can ring people.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up my Torch 9800 to connect to Wi-Fi, the home screen reports the SSID of the access point, but when I attempt to use the browser, it reports "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later." The "Device and Status Info" screen reports the WLAN IP Address as 0.0.0.0. My wireless access point reports that the BB device is "on", and is assigned an IP address (192.168.2.17).
At one point my initial screen reported that three updates were available. However, each time that I clicked on a line offering an update, an error message reported that "The data service is not operational", and the message about the update went away.
Snooping with Wireshark show that, when the BB is turned on, an ISAKMP tunnel is established between the BB device (at address 192.168.2.17) and segw.uma.rogers.com (at 74.198.30.49), so there is absolutely nothing wrong with the physical wireless connection. (My cellular supplier is Rogers.)
My BB was received (brand new) in early April 2012, and I updated the device from 6.0 bundle 695 to 6.0 bundle 2921 on 2012-04-12, after installing the Desktop Software on my PC. (The Desktop Software offered the update, so I just did it; I was not even aware of this community until later.)
I have been through all the relevant BB Database information on how to deal with the inability of my phone to connect to the Desktop Software. I have reviewed previous related posts and re-installed the latest Desktop Software.All to no avail.

Problem: When I connect Torch with PC and start Desktop Manager, DM asks password for BB. Once the password is punched, DM takes some time to connect i.e. a PC and BB is shown on Torch screen, trying to connect to each other AND then DICONNECTS.
Actions Already Taken: I have uninstalled and reinstalled DM. I have taken out battery and reboot BB. BUT problem persists.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect to an Airport base station that has a 6-letter password, but my BlackBerry insists that it must have 6 or 10 digit hexadecimal password or something like that, and won't accept when I enter the correct password—it won't even try to connect! Is it me or is this a ludicrous problem? I've searched everywhere and can't find a solution. Changing the base station password is not an option because it's shared by a lot of people.
