I've only noticed this since my KitKat installation-
It seems that when I do something that uses the radio (refresh my Yahoo email, check/send a text message), the little satellite icon pops and flashes (im guessing its a satellite).
This always happened before, but it would eventually just go away.
Now mine just blinks for hours on end and my concern is that its draining the battery.
Whenever I snap a picture or record a video and exit the camera application, the satellite icon remains on. I have to switch the mobile on/off for it to disappear. What's weird in that is, when i use the front camera, it appears again. Do you think the GPS remains on even when exiting the camera?

So when I get a text now 2 icons pop up (SMS and crunchSMS) and I have to go to both to stop my phone from blinking. Is there a way to make the default stop showing up as a new message and a blinking light?

- A second problem is the SMS notification, that appears as a wild sequence of TV commercials would do during your favorite tv show : very annoying, whatever the circumstances. The popup forbids me to do anything quietly and peacefully, i'm interrupted and have to click on it in order to make it disappear. (I don't care if Mr X is harassing me while i'm browsing the web)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an icon running the developers 8.1.... So I am trying to stream radio stations on tunein radio and it works terribly. When the stream doe actually play it will stutter and skip, it will do that for a few seconds and then just go into a buffering loop. I even tored different streams of the station and got pretty much the same results. My signal is fine, I have full LTE so speed isnt not the problem. Also its just tunein radio....youtube Pandora and mix radio work fine.
This is an app I used a lot on the android phone and Id really like to be able to use it on the widows phone too but right now its absolutely useless.
Nokia Icon received last week from Verizon. I generally like the phone and am excited about using it since I am a Windows user and want to take advantage of using my phone with Windows PC. Heard great things about this phone and wanted to try it after years of Android use. I have heard complaints about lack of apps but I am not an apps user except for the most basic ones. My problem is more with connecting to other devices. After receiving phone, downloading updates to installed apps out of the box, I have had problems with connecting/staying connected to WiFi. Had to reboot phone to get any recognition of networks. Working better now. Bluetooth is the current problem.
Phone does not recognize radio. Just searches and searches. Talked to both Verizon and Alpine Stereo. Alpine says I need to update a file since the head unit is four years old. Took Icon to my wife's brand new Escalade and it will not recognize it either. Just searches away. So, four year old or brand new units don't seem to have been set up for Windows phones.
Sometimes when I unlock my phone I see a round status icon (like a checked radio button) at the top of the screen next to the power, it disappears quickly. Can't seem to find any information on the status icons. What it is?

This is the icon that is used to drag and place the cursor somewhere else. (I do not know the correct technical term for this draggable icon.)
The problem is that I cannot touch and drag this droplet icon. Usually this icon is rectangle in shape, but I see it as a droplet icon. Initally it was a rectangle icon. I accidently pressed some key which changed the cursor to "droplet" shape.

I have a simple problem with the GPS navigation on my E71: it's not working.When I start the application I only see a red dot and nothing more. I checked the satellite connection and I always get the same message: no connection.First I thought that the GPS only works when there is an internet connection, although this would be very stupid. But I get the same message: no satellite connection.I actually want to use the GPS when I'm not connected to the internet. Is there a setting I missed or is this a general issue with the GPS for E71?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone is a 9900 unlocked from Rogers. My phone is absolutely working fine EXCEPT for the GPS. I can get the GPS to see any satellite. I tried running self test from the option menu and always the same result. Since it is a Roger phone, the warranty is with them and I don't think they will service it b/c I am on a telus plan. I know I can get a temporary Roger plan but I rather not. I tried the phone in a lot of locations but still the same result.

Not very often i have the battery down this low, and i know it is not good for the battery. I just wanted to see if it would turn off. I plugged my phone in at 4% so I did not run the battery any lower. I thought it was at 5% that it would turn off. Is the percentage lower? Or is RADIO OFF gone?
