Basically I downloaded crunchSMS and found its a lot quicker and less laggy than the default SMS program. So when I get a text now 2 icons pop up (SMS and crunchSMS) and I have to go to both to stop my phone from blinking. Is there a way to make the default stop showing up as a new message and a blinking light?
View 7 RepliesToday on my way home from school it started to rain pretty hard. I had my Storm in my pocket, but held my pocket so it would not rub against my phone. The back of it, which was facing outward got damp and everything worked fine when I got home; I took out battery and made sure everything was dry but when I put the battery in the Red indicator light just blinks.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife has the Storm 1 and I upgraded the OS to 5.0 (The official version on the Verizon network). The problem is that when she locks her phone it will still beep like crazy if a button or screen is pressed. This happens alot when it is in her purse. With the older OS you could press the lock button twice and it would prevent the beeping maddness. With 5.0 you can't or we have not figured it out.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI get my ringtones from myxer.com and mytinyphone and sites such as that. When I set any of these ringtones i download as my sms alert or phone call ringtone, it just uses the default ringtone. So I checked to see if I saved my ringtone settings. Sure enough I did. So I tried turning my phone off and back on, and my ringtone settings just get reset back to default. When I had my 2 gig microsd in it was doing the same thing, but after a couple days it was using the ringtones I set for it. I just put an 8 gig microsd in and there's no hope.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem where most of my contact names will not display when I receive a call or text message, just their number. This happened all of the sudden and, as it seems to me, randomly.
I have disabled all content protection, tried changing the smart dialing settings, cleared the event log, tried reordering the contact list and did a few battery pulls.
Some of the contact names are still working correctly, but it is a select few and I cannot figure out why only those ones are showing. I have not installed any new software recently or changed any settings other than to try and fix this issue.

Unlocked my verizon bb storm yesterday. It is now an AT&T carrier bb. It made/received calls all day.
Updated the phone via USB cable to the latest software.
Didn't notice anything was wrong today at first. Set my email up today, and it works great along with the txt messaging.
However I cannot make or receive calls. It keeps saying "Congestion". I have called AT&T and they say there is no congestion in my area and told me they can't help me because this phone isn't for at&t and blah blah blah.
I don't know what to do now. Any ideas of things I can try?
I do know that I had to make room for the update and barely had room if this means anything.....
I woke up this morning and noticed that my phone was flashing a light blue color. I looked around on my phone to see if something was wrong or there was an update or something and there was no indication why it was on. Then after that it stopped. Im not running any apps that change the color of your LED. So does anyone have any idea why it would do this?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have had my storm for a week now and after restarting to finalise deleting some apps this green flashing LED light came on. But it's not like a coverage indicator where it flashes constantly it flashes 8 times then goes of for about 5 minutes and then flashes again.
So I tried a battery pull to see if it would go away and the green LED did but now the exact same thing is happening except the LED is red (flashes 8 times stops for 5 mins flashes 8 times and so on)
I got a text from 5502 that is listed as an advertisement but the message says "VZW Content - Stay tuned for a hot new offer coming to your Storm! Reply STOP to opt out".
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a fix to get windows 7 to show my Storm in mass storage mode? The transfer in Roxio media manager is slow as **** and since my new PC has windows 7 I have not been able to get it to show the device memory cards a drives that I can just copy and paste to.
It's time that BB and Verizon get their S*&T together and stop tossing out excuses for the reason as to why things don't work. Take the time you would to write the excuse and come up with a patch or fix to the problems.
I'm sure someone else has had this same problem. when I am texting the same person continuously for a while at times I can not open the message on the screen unless I restart my BB or compose a new message to the same person.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

I'm looking for a way to make my own ringtones (pick song, choose section of song I want, etc.) or a site that has a ton of ringtones ready to DL for free. The ringtones section of crackberry is nice but the quality of some of the songs I want is not good.

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
Somtimes when reading a text or using camera my Storm will re-boot and when it comes back up it will say the battery is dead. This happens after its been on the charger all night. The only way to fix it is to use quickpull. Which i have set to re-boot everyday at 5am.. Could my battery be going bad or what?
