HTC Desire HD :: WiFi, Bluetooth, Radio And G-sensor Dead?
Jan 2, 2011
So my battery was totally down, i was at a friends place and forgot the charger. When i came back home and started it up, suddenly the wifi didn't connect. I went to wifi settings and it just said error. After that i found out that bluetooth, the radio, the g-sensor and even the light behind the buttons under the screen all didn't work (the buttons themselves do still work). Assuming this is a software failure and not a hardware one (cuz these are all really different components) i thought a factory reset would bring them back to life, but even that didn't work. So now i'm stuck with an empty phone ( i can't download all my apps back cuz i have a data limit) which is half broken. I sent a mail to htc already, but i hope i could get an answer from someone here faster.
I use a Bluetooth headset to listen to music that I have on the SD card but would also appreciate the option of listening to the radio on occasion. The problem is that the radio will only work once the wired headset is connected, as the cable is used as an aerial. Is there any way in which I can overcome this problem. I have tried plugging the wired heaset in so that the radio works through that, but then there is no sound through the Bluetooth headset. For the record, I have experienced an irritating problem since having upgraded to 2.3. I downloaded a few skins off the HTC Hub after which the downloading notification arrows on the top information bar as well as the download information on the information sheet could not be removed. I tried many options, to the extent of even deleting the apps concerned, but the notifications remained. The only way that I was able to clear them was to perform a full factory reset causing much information to be lost. I wonder how many others have experienced the same problem. Other than this the upgrade did improve a number of functions.
I have just purchased the Desire after having a Nokia N73 which gave wonderful FM stereo. I listen to the FM radio regularly and I am very disappointed to find the Desire radio only gives a mono output. Even though there is a stereo / mono setting the sound stays mono. For such an expensive phone this is very annoying. Can anyone else confirm this, or is it just a problem with my phone. If this is a bug when is it likely to be fixed. Who would I contact at HTC to ask for a fix?
When I tried to restore the defaults by reflashing it with rsd lite, it ran a time, but my pc crashed. The restore went fine, but the connectivity was dead. when i tried to reflash, i got a new not known device called Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 and rsd failed. When i've done that before it always went fine... only this time not. I searched a lot in the net, but didn't found a way to recover it.
When you are using bluetooth headset, the proximity sensor doesn't work? Is it a bug in Android v2.1 or am I missing something? I'm using MW-600 with X10i Android 2.1 if that matters.
I recently upgraded to firmware v50.0.005.C01.01 but ever since I cannot get bluetooth to be on. Whenever I try to switch it on it just pops up with an "unable to perform bluetooth operation”. I did the three finger salute (hard reset) but no joy. Anyone know if there is perhaps some other setting that blocks bluetooth? Or is there some more technical way to find out what is failing?
Clean boot (restart), the proximity sensor works fine (when on call it turns screen off, when moved away from face screen on). As soon as I make or receive call via bluetooth (Motorola brand btw.) The proximity sensor stops working. When on call it will not turn the screen off... Rebooting the phone will fix until a call is made/received via bluetooth. This was confirmed with other Moto phones (Photon...) as well as different bluetooth devices.
On my DesireHD I cannot make voicedial from my motorcycle helmet BT headset (happens to be a Cardo Scala Rider set). So here is how it worked with my 3 year old Nokia E71 symbian phone (same BT headset):
Push the call button on headsetPhone confirmed with a beepI spoke the name of who I want to call in the micPhone used voice recognition to match in my address book, and read back a suggestion with a synthesized voiceIf I agreed I just waited and let it call, if not, I called off with the buttonI do have voice search activated on my DesireHD phone, but it doesn't help voicedialing from the headset. Needless to say, I cannot pull out the phone while I drive the motorcycle to dial.
Using bluetooth clock radio with their m8? iHome Bluetooth Stereo FM Clock Radio IBT97GC - Best Buy I am looking into buying this one but not 100% sure of it. my old ipod classic is on its last limbs, the ihome still works fine.
When I had my iPhone I could join it to my car radio to play music through Bluetooth no probs. My Galaxy S5 can 'see' my radio but always fails to connect. Would I be correct in thinking that there are different types of Bluetooth? Its not like its a cheap radio either.
I had an M8 and switched over to the M9 due to my camera sensor constantly buzzing not able to focus. The Wi-Fi range on my M9 isn't as strong as the M8. I was able to get on the internet and used internet-based apps with my previous phone while in bed but I can't with the new one.
I recently updated my nokia 5800 to v5 from v4, after update my radio and Bluetooth has stopped working completely. When I goto Radio it gets hanged instantly only option I have is to click on red button or menu button, but radio app keeps running in back ground. When I tried to turn on my Bluetooth I gets a error message 'Unable to perform Bluetooth Operation'. When I got to Albums and tried to send any music file via Bluetooth I get a message 'Unable to connect'. I had already tries hard resetting and re-installing firmware through OVI suite, but I am still facing this problem.
Nokia X2-00, FW 4.90. When I bought this phone I was hoping that if there is no need of wired headset for the radio, I could listen to radio through a bluetooth handsfree. But ... this is not possible. The options for radio output are - loudspeaker or wired headset. May be Nokia will develop this very useful in my humble opinion) feature in the next firmware version.
My Xperia X10 will pair with the Bluetooth in my Mazda 3 and I can make phone calls okay, but whan I try to play music nothing comes through the speakers.
I have my S5 connected to my car radio via bluetooth. I'd like to listen to the local radio, but would still like to get alerts (including GPS directions) without having to switch the source over to the phone. Is this possible? How?
I want to buy an ant+ Cadence sensor which is really inexpensive and I'd like to know if I could pair it and use it as a SPEED sensor for my bike. Since a cadence sensor just counts how often the magnet passes by it then I guess they are the same as speed sensor. What would be the steps to complete this? or are the profiles baked in the firmware of the sensors and there's no way for the Motoactv to profile it as a different type of sensor?
I have a Nokia N5230 Nuron phone and I want to hear the audio from the built in FM receiver using my Bluetooth handset. The system keeps telling me that I have to plug a wired headset to the phone. Is there a way around this?
i'm totally happy with my lumia 920 black for about 3 weeks now.I did successfully paired with my Kenwood DDX4021 BT (as i did before with my Lumia 800 and HTC Mozart). The phonebook and call lists were successfully transfered to the radio.
Yesterday i went home and activated blutooth on the phone. It showed message of the features it found and seems to connect (radio showed the connect icon) but then just did a reset and reboot.I tried several times. Every time after/while pairing with the radio the lumia just reboots itself.
I have this great bluetooth headset I use to work out with and I would love to be able to listen to the radio using these instead of having to plug in a wired headset. I know it uses the wired headset as a antenna so maybe there is a plug in antenna that will still let the music flow to the bluetooth headset?
I bought the nokia C2-01 in march. After two months the radio and bluetooth is not working. When I click on the radio it always shows Radio Off (with or without the headset). And in the case of bluetooth The option On is not working. It always shows Off. I reset all the settings but nothing happened. And the sw cannot be updated through phone updates.
Jaybirds work very well with my Motoactv compared to the problems with Motorolas SF600. Playing mp3 I have no problems, but I recently tried the radio function with my bluetooth Jaybirds and it tells me to connect headphones to work?
This is my second Atrix. It is failing to turn on its' Bluetooth radio. I go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth (and Bluetooth Settings) and try to turn Bluetooth on. It indicates that it's turning on Bluetooth and then it fails, returning to the "Turn on bluetooth" message. I've rebooted, done a battery pull, tried to turn it on from Airplane mode...everything short of a factory reset (because I really really really don't want to set this thing up from scratch again!).
Received the Desire HD yesterday but it won't connect to my Wifi (although it says it is connected) as when I try to access the market, web browser, gmail it won't connect unless I switch on my 3G connection. The wifi symbol is present at the top of the screen.
I have a W910i R1FA035. When my bluetooth headset is connected, as well as the wired headset to enable radio I cannot receive radio in my bluetooth headset. The sound comes in the wired headset only. I have tried vkp patches from top sony but it did not help.
I just updated my new replacement phone to Lollipop on my Samsung Galaxy s5... now i am not able to connect to my JVC car radio via Bluetooth. When I try my phone doesn't even see my radio. My old Galaxy S5 used to play just fine on the radio with the Lollipop update... It does see and pair to other devices, like my Tone Pro headset.
